Dh became quaraplegic 4 years ago, can't move, can't eat without help, bowel care every morning, carers in our house 13 hours a day. Two kids, 9 and 15. I am exhausted

So sorry to hear about what everyone is going through, sending positive thoughts and gentle hugs to all who need them.

Stage 4 cancer. Also trying to run a business (self employed) and buy a house while dealing with chemo brain. Life is very stressful at the moment.

WhenIwasyoungersomuchyounger · 16/07/2025 15:37

I can't leave the house as every time I try, I feel like I'm going to wet myself.

If anyone has been through this, please send ideas to break the cycle!

OurBeautifulBaby · 16/07/2025 15:35

I’m having extensive medical testing at the moment for a problem found incidentally. The NHS have been brilliant and have been seeing me urgently.

I know people who have to wait months or even years and I’ve been seen sometimes within days so I feel very well looked after but it is my worry at the moment.

Domestic abuse

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 16/07/2025 15:33

Not being able to drive. It's an absolute nightmare and I get upset about it frequently.

TomatoSandwiches · 16/07/2025 15:33

Im clinically depressed, I am waiting for a tailored therapy course that will likely start in September but I have to survive the summer holidays first when all I want to do is disappear and be alone.

Autistic daughter who has demand avoidance and ocd. Shouts, swears and physical meltdowns where she throws whatever missle she can get her hands on. At me.

it's like living with an abusive partner but no escape because she's a child! Constant battle to get any support at all.

There's a charity called PEGS that might be able to help. They support families experiencing child to parent abuse. I can also recommend a facebook group called Parental Abuse by Children (PABC) which has a lot of families that have loved ones with autism who display violent and challenging behaviour xx

How PEGS Can Help | Pegs Support

PEGS is committed to supporting families impacted by Child to Parent Abuse. PEGS believe in creating a safe place where you can talk openly about your experiences, where you will always be listened to, always believed, and never judged. If you’d like t...

"Toxic Positivity"
Oh yes I've seen that in action too. Not too helpful.
Best Wishes to all on here. With the quote from the King James version. "Faith Hope and Charity, the greatest is Charity".

Issues not houses.

Daffodilsarefading · 16/07/2025 15:31

Health houses for both myself and dh.

miserableandworried · 16/07/2025 15:31

I’m in an OCD pit of hell that I can’t seem to get out of.

DoAWheelie · 16/07/2025 15:30

I'm severely disabled. My dad and my OH were my carers but they both suddenly died within a few weeks of each other last year leaving me to cope alone.

Social services are overwhelmed and staff turnover is insane so my case keeps getting lost. I've yet to have my initial assessment despite being referred 3 times as my case keeps getting given to someone who quits soon after and doesn't get handed over properly.

The house is a mess, I'm drowning in debt, my health is getting worse and worse and I'm struggling majorly with the grief of losing my partner of 15 years. I feel like I can't start to even deal with it as just keeping myself alive takes all my energy. Then on top of all this I'm hearing in the news constantly about how I'm not really disabled and should just go get a job and stop being a waste of money (I don't score any 4s despite getting getting 17 points at assessment in daily living).

Happy to hear of minor first world problems. Please don't feel the need to be silenced - surely we don't want everyone going through major crisis?

Our life was as dull and as unproblematic as it could get apart from grumpy DS and declining health of elderly relatives. Then things started to go pear-shaped after DS announced he was trans and us trying to be gentle as possible without agreeing to puberty blockers didn't go well at all. He was so consumed with gender dysphoria and miserable, he hated us for dogwhistling GC talking points, tried to end life multiple times, inpatient, etc. It was hell emotionally.

But it's never just GD - there were lots of other issues uncovered, incl autism. We are in so much better place now. GD is not as all consuming as it used to be, but I don't know what future holds and we are too focused on building up mutual trust. At least we talk.

Parent has cancer , incurable but treatable to keep it at bay, worried they won't continue with treatment.

SEN daughter not coping at mainstream but doesn't meet threshold for special needs.

Please consider getting advice from IPSEA. They are brilliant at giving advice on SEND issues, including how to appeal when a child is turned down for an EHCP or a special school.

Right now? The DWP.
My ten year PIP review is sat waiting to be looked at. Could take up to a year and right in the middle of that they decided that NOW was the time (after 10 years on ESA to "migrate" me to UC.
Arseholes!

Hi @naturalcrackle111 my BF , her boys both had this - one had quite a lot of allergies which they gradually worked through and since he’s cut out is much better. She had to bandage them both every night / it was heartbreaking.
I thought you’d want to know they’re both now grown up brilliant men, look amazing, glowing, healthy, sporty, great jobs and relationships. you will get through it, take each day as it comes and worth exploring allergies. good luck xxxx

Thankyou so much! That is amazing and gives me so much hope! Xx

ffsgloria · 16/07/2025 15:21

Worry that we will not be financially secure in the future.

LoveItaly · 16/07/2025 15:20

I echo this. You have said exactly what I wanted to say, but better than I would have done. Sending everyone love and strength.

Jenkibuble · 16/07/2025 15:19

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 16/07/2025 13:55

Sending much love to all of you out there, struggling.

My petty little worries are now in complete perspective (and I feel slightly guilty about worrying about them at all). But I suppose it's all subjective isn't it?

Definitely this.....

Toxic positivty isn't a solution either though. As you say it is all subjective.

Miley23 · 16/07/2025 15:17

Hate my job and need a new one but no motivation to look and probably won't get anything due to age. DS can't find part time work around his studies either.
