Current 'problems' would relate to our renovation like the builder dropping out on us etc... and we can't do the kitchen/bathroom/roof ourself but really its not that bad in the grand scheme of life.

We are massively privileged to now be in a position to have a house to renovate and non of the issues are life and death, its just a lot of work to do to be doing 1000 DIY tasks in 1 house while prepping to move from another and watching 3 kids because schools now off.

Houndsahollering · 16/07/2025 18:00

My older dog who was the missing piece in my recovery from a major depressive disorder relapse is fading. I won’t keep him alive when he’s ready I’ll let him go but fucking hell im so scared.

PrincessC0nsuelaBananaHammock · 16/07/2025 18:00

My job is shite, doesn't pay enough, DH's job is shite and doesn't pay enough, but not entitled to any benefits. Robbing Peter to pay Paul every month. Car is off the road, been to 3 garages can't find anything wrong it. Absolute PITA as DH works permeant nights and is having to cycle to work and back.

smoothieooo · 16/07/2025 17:59

Starting radiotherapy for non-Hodgkin lymphoma next week (chemo was cut short due to devastating side effects).

DS 25 never comes out of his room unless forced. He was sectioned 6 years ago following a psychotic episode and won’t have any kind of therapy or talk about how he feels or what he wants. He walks away if I try and speak to him and I’m at a total loss. Ex-H minimises the severity of the situation as he doesn’t see DS very often.

Lastly (and just a whinge and obviously not my biggest problem), I’m using my savings to get the bathroom re-done and halfway through have realised the shower is far too small, the floor tiles look shit and it’s going to look crap (other than the shower tray and bath, it’s pretty much a bare shell ATM). 7k FFS!

SassyAquaBear · 16/07/2025 17:58

This is so trivial in comparison to many others but I want a cat.

I'm on a very low fixed income and can't give them the life they deserve. It would be selfish to get one to service my needs when I can't service theirs properly. I just want another heartbeat in my home. I want to come home and have someone pleased to see me. That's all.

It's a cat. A bloody cat. I don't need to win the lottery. I'm not asking for the moon on a stick. Just a cat but it's out of reach.

Enigma53 · 16/07/2025 17:57

My Sarcoma cancer and the fact chemo has put me in hospital. That my mouth is so inflamed and sore, I can barely eat. Awful. I want to cry.

Joeylove88 · 16/07/2025 17:54

Certainly isn't as major as alot of the posters on here but im 9 weeks pregnant and due to start a new job in a few weeks time and im just so nervous they will somehow find a way to get rid of me but I need this job so badly and the security of having something to go back to after maternity leave after being a broke ass student for over two years.

Proudestmumofone1 · 16/07/2025 17:52

Err trying not to die? Or at least limit the complications from my life limiting illness?

Not for my own sake, for my daughter’s.

Can’t wait for a bathroom to be my biggest worry.

oh how I wish for normal, mundane and boring!

Lunalara · 16/07/2025 17:52

Wishing everyone a better turn of events. I feel horrible for a lot of you on here. I would say that my worst thing is that I haven’t started my career yet, and I worry about time running out for life milestones.

notacooldad · 16/07/2025 17:51

I got attacked at work this morning by a young person. I came home early and im feeling sorry for myself.
However, im ok,but after reading some of these posts im sorry many of you are having a tough time and I haven't got much to moan about.

zacsGranny · 16/07/2025 17:46

Don't know what to say after reading all these posts. I honestly never realised what lots of people are dealing with.
There are some amazing and strong people on here.
Sending love and positive thoughts to all who need them.

I’m in 35k of credit card debt and spend every waking moment worrying about money. All my own fault so nothing I can do really. Reading some of the responses on here really puts my problem into perspective - sending everyone so much love.

Have you thought about getting some help with your debt? I’m in an Iva and it’s saved my life.

Trying to navigate a horrible rare heart condition in my family. Fighting for my children to get monitoring but the nhs won’t offer it till they are 16. I’m scared on a daily basis and don’t know if it’ll ever get better

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 16/07/2025 17:42

Waiting for biopsy results for me. Son has had some blood tests come back as abnormal and needs to retest. I’m not sleeping well and my dog recently died. So things aren’t great but I see so many people have so much worse. I’m sorry and I hope things improve for you soon x

LozzaCh0ps · 16/07/2025 17:41

Shit job, elderly parent, no other family 🙄

WhyIsMyLifeFullOfLemons · 16/07/2025 17:35

DH died last year.
I’m financially in a state and DC (older teens/young adult) are, as to be expected, acting out in rage and confusion.
I’ve picked up as many extra hours as I can and they are killing me. My life is work, cook, clean, sleep (badly) and I don’t know how much longer I can go on.
I don’t see anyone or go anywhere except work, people stopped asking how I was after about 6 weeks and now, one year on, don’t even mention him. I feel like he’s forgotten, almost like he never existed, and I’m so sad he suffered so much before he died.
He was my rock and now I’m adrift.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 16/07/2025 17:32

Breast cancer. Just had my last radiotherapy session today. Now I have to wait out the side effects.

saltnvinegarhulahoops · 16/07/2025 17:32

I would just like ONE night of unterrupted sleep without being woken by a snoring husband, a crying child or a dog that needs to go out to barf/eat grass. I think i'll be 50 by the time that happens.

JeffLeppard · 16/07/2025 17:31

Divorcing useless man who refuses to engage with his solicitor while I've racked up thousands in bills, parent has dementia, job is ridiculously pressured, dealing with after effects of cancer last year, getting counselling for childhood trauma, trying to lose weight and failing, renovating the house, and to top it all I've fallen in love with a close male friend and can't tell him. But I know it could be so much worse and have to keep reminding myself of that every time I feel sorry for myself

Devilsmommy · 16/07/2025 17:30

HumanRightsAreHumanRights · 16/07/2025 16:45

Have been going blind for a number of years.

Now discovered I'm also going deaf.

Seems a bit unfair.

I am so sorry you're going through this. I've known a lot of deaf blind people and I always thought it was such a cruel thing to have to live with. Are you able to be assessed for cochlear implants at all?

Toseland · 16/07/2025 17:30

WhenIwasyoungersomuchyounger · 16/07/2025 15:37

I can't leave the house as every time I try, I feel like I'm going to wet myself.

If anyone has been through this, please send ideas to break the cycle!

Wear incontinence pads to feel safer and leave the house often. Gradually wear smaller and smaller pads?

PocketSand · 16/07/2025 17:27

Depressing read? Try living with it for years or decades and fighting for support that you are entitled to receive. And then talk to me about resilience.

whynotmereally · 16/07/2025 17:26

FurForksSake · 16/07/2025 13:02

I am on long term sick leave and housebound 95% of the time.

Same FlowersChronic pain fucking sucks doesn’t it?

YourOnMute · 16/07/2025 17:25

Living pay check to pay check and unable to save for my childs future or pay for much needed upgrades in the house or afford anything new for myself. I'm only one car repair or broken appliance away from debt. Currently unable to find a higher paying job that fits within school hours as a single parent. Also grateful to have a stable job and a roof over my head and appreciate i could be in alot worse position.

Same situation here. I'm in the red every month.
My ex disappeared on purpose so he doesn't have to pay maintenance and that's why I'm in this situation. What a charmer. My eldest is working like a dog to afford uni. It makes me so mad that fathers can just walk away.

BloodyAngryRightNow · 16/07/2025 17:23

Unfairly dismissed from my dream job 10 months ago. Won a big settlement but I've been unable to get a new job since. I get longlisted but no further and everyone says I'm bound to get a new job soon. But I can't get past the longlist. Money is enough for a year but I'll be living on credit cards by the autumn.

It feels so unfair because I should still be in that job where I was hugely successful and never wanted to leave.
