Garage told us, not point in repairing the car not eccomically viable and if it was theirs, they would get rid of it.

4 years left on the loan

Oh no! That’s very bad.

Don’t speak to my family, live miles from my hometown, in a minimum wage job, live in a shared house, basically come home from work & sit in my room, come to the realisation I will never be able to afford to rent even a little 1 bed flat, my dad has terminal cancer, I have no friends, just been diagnosed with anaemia & adenomyosis, GP has finally sent me for an urgent gynae appointment that I have to make myself out of the 5 hospitals to choose from zero have any appointments. I keep thinking what the point in life I really do!

BrightLeader · 17/07/2025 17:58

My adult children

Ponoka7 · 17/07/2025 17:56

I need around £8k of dental work. I'm my DD's childcare so can't go back to work to pay for it.

mediumdicketh · 17/07/2025 17:55

And my relationship is stuck because I'm stuck in a flat and I'm just dangling from a rope

knor · 17/07/2025 17:53

My 2yo dd has quite bad constipation. Hard seeing her in pain (being managed by GP)

mediumdicketh · 17/07/2025 17:52

Dizzy82 · 17/07/2025 17:08

Waiting for outcome of voluntary redundancy application....

Bunion8 · 16/07/2025 23:54

Sorry this was for @MaMisled

Thankyou and I'm so sorry you are also supporting someone with the same issues. I took DB into my home too, before he got a HA flat, and it was exhausting. I just did a little research on Al Anon and will make contact tomorrow. Thank you so much for that, really really helpful. You just know its not going to end well, don't you? Horribly sad and destructive.

My heart goes out to everyone who has posted and I wish you all love, strength and hope.

superplumb · 17/07/2025 15:15

Autisic children, ex who cheated and now im going through a divorce, dad has cancer, mum is mad, im going through all sorts of tests for a variety of health issues. Menopausal, money worries, working full time.

VeterinaryCareAssistant · 17/07/2025 15:08

My biggest problem at the moment is nowhere near as bad as some I've read, but it's that my dp vetoes everything I suggest.

I know the no trumps the yes but it's every fucking time I suggest something and it's really starting to make me frustrated and questioning my relationship.

I have less than £5 in my bank account at any given time and a DD to kit out for moving to big school.

Don't be afraid to ask her new school if they have any items of uniform which have been in lost property and hasn't been picked up, also Facebook market place, someone local to you may well be selling uniform cheaper as it's no longer required, as long as it's in good condition this could be an option for you.

FurForksSake · 17/07/2025 14:04

To add to that, my husband has cardiomyopathy and my children have heart scans every two years. No issues at all, GP was told to do referrals by DH’s specialist team.

Thefaceofboe · 16/07/2025 17:45

Trying to navigate a horrible rare heart condition in my family. Fighting for my children to get monitoring but the nhs won’t offer it till they are 16. I’m scared on a daily basis and don’t know if it’ll ever get better

Not sure if this of use to you but there is an organisation called Cardiac Risk in the Young. I hope you get things sorted soon.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 17/07/2025 13:00

To be honest, I think a lot of my main problems are struggling with unresolved trauma from my concussions and being harmed by the antipsychotic that gave me a neurological involuntary movement disorder. I've been living with the movement disorder for a decade but I still get incredibly anxious when I need to take any new medication, as I wont know if it is going to be a drug that makes my symptoms worse, as I've had horrible adverse effects and reactions to seemingly innocuous substances like antifungal creams, artificial sweeteners, and even calcium vitamin pills.

I guess I've got a form of chronic anxiety but it's one that can't really be treated properly as I'm always going to be extra sensitive to medication now.

It's the helplessness and anger at my health (and the GP who prescribed the medication) that is always there 😞💔😭

Nothing in comparison to what some people on this thread are going through but Dp who spent 2 years "looking for a job" lost it after 3 months and now back to playing computer games all day. He says he is looking for work and I feel bad for constantly nagging at him but im starting to look at him differently (cocklodger territory) and for the first time I'm seriously questioning if we have a future together because i didn't sign up for this.

I'm in the same boat as you but my husband is now in his 4th year of being out of work, and it is hard to be positive with him whilst struggling with all the finances on my own and like you I'm starting to question my feelings, my marriage and what the future holds. Reading everyone's posts on here is heartbreaking.

It's great that you have such a supportive partner though!

It really is. We've come through some awful times, a few years ago I was over drawn on the 2nd of each month and dh bot long after. I have nearly finished off paying the credit card debt which is from bills and weekly food shops. I'm so glad we don't have that struggle anymore.

I suppose the worry right now is really 'why can't I talk to my supportive partner?' This has been a problem since I was a child, I worry abou things on my own instead of talking about them, often making a situation worse.

Member984815 · 17/07/2025 12:06

I finally went to the doc today to get my mole looked at. Even if it is sinister I've done something about it now. Parent being diagnosed with cancer has lit a fire under my arse about assorted health worries .

Blarn · 17/07/2025 11:54

thechatclub · 17/07/2025 07:31

That I have about £6 in my bank and won’t be paid for 3 more weeks

We've been there and it's awful, the constant worry. Hope things improve soon Flowers

Perhaps a happy thread alongside it asking what's making you happy at the moment would be a good balance. People do tend to.opt for negativity.

To opt for negativity?
Have you read the thread and what people are going through?

im not saying we should all shallow in misery to talk about OPTING for negativity is utterly wrong.

So sorry ,ds21 recently had a narrow escape, we glimpsed the alternative… and I am so grateful. 💐

thank you, and I’m sorry you even had a glimpse. Hope you’re doing okay x

Why would you declare this? Just sell whatever you want without telling the tax man.

That's not how eBay works... selling on eBay has become a bit of a minefield for sellers.

VeterinaryCareAssistant · 17/07/2025 09:59

Narcises2012 · 16/07/2025 23:12

Sold husbands unneeded work stuff on ebay at huge loss and now have to pay huge income tax and penalties just because they are clasified as goods. Didn't realise you have to declare things sold online. Offs my own fault. Also, can't write them off as dont have receipts anymore 🙄 financially ruined by hmrc for selling our own stuff that we paid for. Be careful people!

An update to my post yesterday; as of this morning it's at least a year until I'll be able to drive again.

Way bigger problems I should be focusing on, but I'm fixating on the driving.
