How did they find the money for this? Also, no checks to confirm what sort of people we are letting into the country.

This country is an utter disaster,m

I am really pleased successive governments here have (on this single issue) acted with integrity: you fuck up, you pay the price. That’s good morals.

I’m happy for those people who get to make a safer life for themselves in the UK. AND their families.

Imagine being on the hit list of a totalitarian Islamic regime. Really, truly imagine that. If you’re anti Islamic fundamentalism but also anti the uk govt looking after these people… let’s just say there is a bit of an intellectual vacuum there.

No. I'm refuting the idea that men in Afghanistan are uniquely awful. British men invaded Afghanistan and murdered children, now British people are whining that they have to give shelter to some people from Afghanistan because they put their lives and the lives of their families in danger. That doesn't align with any 'Western values' I've ever heard of.

Men in Afghanistan are not uniquely awful. But the cultural practice being called out here is uniquely awful. And it happens in Afghanistan more than anywhere else. And it happens because society finds it acceptable to not stamp it out. This is not about individuals, it’s about societal attitudes which are clearly prevalent in Afghanistan.

What do you think should happen to these people - let them be killed by the Taliban because they are known to have worked with the British?

@Jennps - you haven’t responded to my question?

I called you and the other poster out for using rape victims to further your prejudicial and bigoted views, which clearly had hit a nerve. Think about it before you type.

Still apologizing then.

More rape apologists joining the queue to make excuses.

Why do you need to defend the rape of children?

Oh Hi Elon 👋

Did you conjure that up all by yourself or did you get some help? The originality and novelty of your comment wins the internet today.

Libby00 · 15/07/2025 20:07

What western values? They were being paid. Absolutely no indication they share western values.

I was in the military, were you? I can assure these were good people who truly helped us. Without them we would have been fucked.

No you are engaging in whataboutery. aka making excuses for the rape of children.

As an afghan i assure you its most definitely not. Where did you get that information from??? Its mainly only somewhat prevalent in very very rural villages and all afghans i know condemn it, including taliban

Rural villages where? On the moon?

No, Afghanistan. Rural or otherwise, it has gone on and on and on unstopped because it is culturally acceptable.

Nigel Garage no doubt, and his army of anonymous bot farm ruski trolls, brought to a popular forum near you sometime soon via dogshit media like Geebeebies. Yay!

Try and divert your attention here, simpletons and basically stupid people. It helps with billionaires and their tax avoidance Wink

Msmfailedusbad · 15/07/2025 21:29

I never said where the funding came from, but that it has been provided to local councils to buy houses and spend on resettlement. Mine has bought several houses , totalling millions for this specific purpose. It’s all TAXpayers money and we are all paying for it.

Nope just calling out the hypocrisy of it. The poster couldn’t give a damn about the innocent children here or there. The bacha bazi is just being hijacked to support their bigoted views. You don’t like the resettlement? Well then take it up with our government that has had a historical fetish in getting it self involved in foreign invasions.

Jennps · 15/07/2025 21:19

This country has gone crazy. It really has.

I'm not joining the pile on re bacha bazi. You'd hope the succesful applicants to the UK scheme have been properly vetted but it IS a reasonably prevelant practice in Afghanistan, hence its been subject to several recent documentaries.

You shouldn't believe Msmfailedusbad, though. They are either lying or mistaken. The scheme is being funded by the Ministry of Defence, including housing costs, and comes out of the Ministry's existing budget.

Sounds like you are a murder apologist all their showing is that people from all nations commit heinous crimes , including western ones

ninjahamster · 15/07/2025 21:25

Absolutely the right thing to do imo. These are people who are in danger from the taliban due to helping us.

Another mess left by the Tories.

PinkChaires · 15/07/2025 21:24

It is a socially acceptable practice in Afghanistan. And not nearly as rare as you make out. How is that not beyond disturbing and disgusting.

Where as British soldiers would just kill young boys. Doesn't sound like a lot of 'self control' was shown by British men.

For some wild reason we (in the West) seem to think everyone across the world shares our values!

British soldiers reported their allied Afghan soldiers and citizens engaged in the rape of young boys.

https://aoav.org.uk/2025/bearing-witness-to-silence-how-uk-soldiers-were-traumatised-by-and-were-ordered-not-to-stop-the-rape-of-boys-in-afghanistan/

’Bacha bazi’ / ‘boys for play’ are an afghani tradition of using young boys for entertainment and sex https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/sep/12/dancing-boys-afghanistan

This is incompatible with nations who believe in female sexual empowerment and expect men to show self control and not look at the world though sex crazed eyes
