Maybe they aren’t great at acting, maybe you love them for nostalgic reasons or because they seem like a great person IRL!

I complained in the other thread about people not understanding the difference between irrational and rational - liking a beloved character like David Attenborough is not considered controversial by any stretch, but liking Peter Andre, maybe 😉.

NotrialNodeal · 08/07/2025 17:13

Tony Dalton ❤️
David Attenborough ❤️

Aw love Dolly

I’ve spent the past year trying to convince my DH that whilst flying anywhere domestically in the US is extortionately expensive……DC3 getting into Dollywood for free kinda cancels out the cost of her flight from where we live to Tennessee so really it’s the best value holiday we are going to get 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂😂
He just says he’d rather wait until we are back in the UK, and have a week all inclusive somewhere for half the price…..and I guess he’s right. But I also don’t think you can put a price on Dollywood 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Theymademecreate · 08/07/2025 16:36

Morrissey and Roy Keane! Both have that dry sense of humour, wit and intelligence.
I don't think they give a cr@p whether they're liked or not which is refreshing!

Which Richard Whiteley sex scandal? I can't find anything about this

I don't think I want to know 😳

WaitedBlankey · 08/07/2025 16:25

Andy Murray's a good call. A real mensch.

I love his mum too

I love Rylan, his Radio 2 show on a Saturday is the highlight of my week. I was a bit gutted when he admitted he'd cheated on his husband (in the same way my grandmother was disappointed with Richard Whitely after his sex scandal lol) but I've forgiven him 😅

I really want to appear on the Couch Potatoes quiz 😉

Andy Murray's a good call. A real mensch.

He is. And is so undeserving of the humourless git personality that is often attributed to him.

ChocolateGanache · 08/07/2025 16:27

MsNevermore · 08/07/2025 01:43

Dolly Parton.

I’m a little bit obsessed 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
Shes one of the best selling artists on the planet, worth millions upon millions of dollars…..and what’s she doing with that money?
Dishing out free books to children, giving those children free entry to her theme parks and free child places for stays at the park resorts.
Every month, my youngest runs to the mail box with glee asking if there a book from Dolly 😂😂🙌🏻

Aw love Dolly

CherryRipe1 · 08/07/2025 16:27

Clive Myree and Robson Green.

The late George Alagiah

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 08/07/2025 16:21

In no particular order:

Claudia Winkleman
Floella Benjamin (playschool ❤)
Andy Murray
Bob Mortimer
Paul Whitehouse
Jason Isaac's
Grayson Perry
Clive Myrie
Maggie Aderin-Pocock
Michael Palin
Josh Widdicombe (less keen on his mum Ann though)
Sarah Lancashire
Micky Flanagan
Random one, Clive Matle. Actor who once helped me up when I fell flat on my face outside the theatre he was just walking into. Been a big fan ever since!

I love RS. He's so reliable and consistent. He never changes. Whatever is happening in the world, you can be assured he'll always be there, the same as ever.

My favourites are Anne Hegarty and Jurgen Klopp. Anne is clever, funny and has such a naughty twinkle in her eye. Kloppo is just such a lovely man. Obviously I'm biased but he's kind, loving and funny.

I've also got love for Rebecca Pritchard. I really, really want her to show up on Antiques Roadshow or similar. Just to really wipe her cheating ex-husband's face in it.

Did you see him.at Glastonbury with Olivia Rodrigo?

squashyhat · 08/07/2025 15:54

Jodie Foster, Martin Sheen (the best POTUS they never had), Julia Roberts and Amber Marshall (Canadian actor from Heartland - she has her own ranch in real life and seems such a lovely person).

ConnieHeart · 08/07/2025 15:53

Josie Gibson. Met her and spoke with her for around 20 mins. She was so lovely and down to earth

Nought weird about Steve Pemberton , he is lovely ( I imagine ) and so clever IRL .

I agree. I’ve been a big fan since the League days. They’re all so clever.

PunishmentSnart · 08/07/2025 15:53

and yes to Emma Willis too.
