Friend offended by my opinion

Friend is seeing someone who isn't her 'usual' type. Met him once. But I bumped into him when we went to a local bar in our hometown and he looked awful, and I did say to her 'does it not bother you that he goes out to a nice bar in oversized cargos and an adidas zip up jumper and doesn't make an effort for you and I think she found it quite offensive, but he looked an absolute state...

If she asked you for an opinion on his dress sense, I think you were being quite harsh and a tad rude. But if it was unsolicited advice, I’m not surprised she’s pissed as you.

Why does what he wears have any impact?

If he was rude to her or abusing her then yes say something.

Not everyone is shallow and judges people on their appearance

I wear oversized jumpers and baggy bottoms so you would judge me and call me unkept.
Im sure MN are trying to see it from your view but none of us can get our heads up our own arses.
