Favourite lazy arse dinners

As per title. Tonight I have a plate of pasta (fusilli) with butter melted through and cheddar cheese on top. Teaspoon of lazy garlic mixed through with the butter. When I’m being less disgusting I melt butter and a little garlic into the fusilli, add tuna or chicken and basil, and squeeze a lemon over. But the ultimate lazy dinner is literally a heap of pasta covered in cheese.

What are your ultimate lazy arse dinners?

Ketchup on a slice of bread folded over

Pesto pasta (pesto from a jar) or beans or scrambled egg on toast

Yes, scrambled egg with pesto, cheese & sriracha.

Shippams paste on white bread. Pre-mounjaro obvs

Can you not have that on Mounjaro?

Genuinely interested.

Super noodle sandwich.

Chicken & Mushroom PN with a white bread cheese sandwich cut into strips to dunk in the sauce 😋

Sometimes UPFs are worth it.

SockFluffInTheBath · 06/07/2025 22:25

Crisps and wine.

My favourite thing when I’m alone (because DC won’t eat it) is pasta with (chucked in a frying pan while the pasta cooks) chopped bacon, cherry tomatoes, artichokes and a ton of black pepper. Grated cheese on top. Might be a bit too much like proper food for this thread but to me it’s lazy.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/07/2025 22:25

@Endofyear I like Idaho mash ( love it) on top of Branson baked beans with cheese on top and melted in oven for a few minutes - then HP brown on it

So why would such a modest amount of food not be ok with Montjaro

Tray bake. Just chuck everything that needs using up into a baking tin, throw some olive oil
over it with herbs/chilli/lemon/whatever you like, give it a shuggle, and cook for about 45 minutes. That feeds the whole family a dinner cooked from scratch with practically no effort. I even cook the carrots whole.

There’s a good cookbook called The Roasting Tin with this premise, I think!

Iceland chicken skewers (there are several varieties) done in the air fryer - 12 mins - with a pouch of golden vegetable rice and a tomato on the side. This is a lazy family dinner.

For just me - McCain HomeFries from the air fryer with spicy mayo. This was tonight’s supper after a really lovely roast lunch.

You have blown my mind! What. The. Fuck.

Lol!

usually 2 slices of 50/50 bread (as long as there’s enough for the lunch box sandwiches) with a good layer of butter then chicken super noodles. You can’t get the whole pack in the sandwich so I eat the left overs separately!

It was a cheap student snack but remains one of my guilty pleasures on the rare occasions that I’m home alone. If that happens to be an evening then I’ll wash it down with a cold glass of Sauvignon blanc! Very classy 😳

Glittercar · 06/07/2025 22:19

I love that these are proper lazy arse dinners and not the usual mumsnet ‘lazy’ that are more effort than my usual ones!

my contribution is a packet of microwave rice with a tin of mackerel in spicy sauce stirred through.

Can’t go wrong with beans on toast.

Hard agree. Last night I went extra and crumbled a bit of feta on top as I had it in the fridge left over from a posh salad

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 06/07/2025 22:16

Tonight after swimming: Tin of Lidl baked beans to which I add: chili flakes, Turmeric, black pepper and mixed herbs all topped off with a full (Lidl) Mozarella ball 😋
I couldn't even be bothered making any toast and it was just as filling.
Big mug of Yorkshire decaff to found it off.
Perfect on a rainy July night 🙂

Iwiicit · 06/07/2025 22:15

My favourite meal in the world is a tin of Heinz spaghetti Bolognese. My family want to disown me for this but I care not and I am definitely going to try it in a garlic baguette now. Thanks for that superb suggestion. I am excited now!!

rrrrrreatt · 06/07/2025 22:15

Cream of tomato soup and toast

lalalalalady · 06/07/2025 22:14

Lazy dinner for me is a pack of koka noodles or cereal. A level up lazy dinner is a jacket potato or an omelette.

Last night I ate two rice cakes, a small bit of cheese and a protein bar with a glass of wine 😬

Otherwise…beans on toast. My favourite fancier one is spaghetti, truffle oil and plenty of salt and pepper - nothing else.

I saw someone on SM recently having 'boujie' beans on toast - on sourdough toast, topped with mature cheddar and a sprinkle of chopped red onion.

I'm OBSESSED!

The red onion really makes it extra yum.

On Co-Op's cheese & chive sourdough, it's just delish.

Bigoldmoneypit · 06/07/2025 22:13

A singular babybel.

Ninkynonkpinkyponks · 06/07/2025 22:13

Beans on toast with cheese on top

Bimblebombles · 06/07/2025 22:12

Hummus with some form of carb for dipping, or just a pot of hummus with a spoon.

Blend up any fruit lying around into a smoothie with yoghurt and peanut butter

Scrambled eggs and hot sauce

HotThroughHeat · 06/07/2025 22:12

Sure I saw this on a reel. Didn’t write it down so this was my take from it.
Whole ready made garlic baguette per person 🤣 cut right down the centre, filled with half a TIN of bolognese, couldn’t get that so used tinned chilli con carne. Add grated cheese, and air fry until it’s all hot.

Ha ha we tried it, very delicious, rather filling, but we’d had nothing all day 🤣🤣
Had to buy tinned chilli ( and the garlic baguettes) to try it

Glindala · 06/07/2025 22:12

2 potato waffles put in the toaster, served inside thick white buttered bread and ketchup (potato waffles butty)

They're AWFUL and I love them. The ham cheese and leek one is like crack cocaine. I put extra parmesan on because I'm a monster

Wash your mouth out.The cheese and broccoli one is the best

clare8allthepies · 06/07/2025 22:12

Kimchi ramen noodles. Preferably with some gyoza from the freezer or an egg but often just the ramen. I should have shares in Nongshim the amount of them I buy! 🤣
