As per title. Tonight I have a plate of pasta (fusilli) with butter melted through and cheddar cheese on top. Teaspoon of lazy garlic mixed through with the butter. When I’m being less disgusting I melt butter and a little garlic into the fusilli, add tuna or chicken and basil, and squeeze a lemon over. But the ultimate lazy dinner is literally a heap of pasta covered in cheese.

Toasted crumpets smothered in Brie, Boursin or Philadelphia with a bag of salad.

Jacket potato with butter, cheese and coleslaw and a bag of salad.

Toast covered in butter, then grated cheese, then smashed crisps, then baked beans and top with olives or a couple of pickled onions.

Smash some crisps and cover in sliced avocado topped with Stilton - flash under the grill until cheese has melted - serve on a bag of salad.

The hot crisps / avocado / stilton one - my mind is boggled and in awe - sounds amazing

Super Noodles 😂

MuffinsAreJustCakesAtBreakfast · 06/07/2025 22:08

cook pasta, add pesto. Done.

I freeze pesto into portions in the freezer because using a whole jar two days after opening just ain't happening.

Last night my dinner was a tub of pringles, some salsa dip, some dairy lea triangles and a bottle (cough, 2,) of wine.

It's actually my covid dinner. When the shops were bear during covid that was literally all I could find in Tesco one day. I've grown accustomed to it on a weekend now and then since then 😄

Super noodles with frozen mixed veg and spinach. Only if it's just for me, wouldn't feed that to the kids.

My favourite too but minus the veg and spinach!

ScrambledEggs12 · 06/07/2025 22:06

I hear people talking about pizza toast. Crumpet pizzas are even better.

Toast crumpets, spread on tomato puree, add toppings (ham, chorizo etc) then cheese on top and grill for a couple of minutes.

This is lazy? Christ alive that’s like the artistic masterpiece of a gourmet fucking chef in this house.

Lazy to me doesn’t even involve cutlery, let alone garlic, basil and a stove. Pipe down Gordon Ramsey.

Bung some soup in the microwave and drink it directly from the carton. Wipe your face with the back of your sleeve if necessary.

If I’m at 8/10 effort I might dust off the toaster.

Chick981 · 06/07/2025 22:05

a pack of filled pasta with butter and parmesan

tonight - oven chips with pre-grated cheese and wine (DP is away, tough day, no judgement please)

DaisyDukesAuntie · 06/07/2025 22:05

Beans on toast
a huge bowl of porridge
a bowl of cereal
toast with marmite and butter

Shodan · 06/07/2025 22:05

If it's just me I might just grab a packet of pre-cooked chicken or ham from the fridge and a box of cherry tomatoes. Add a bag of crisps.

If anyone else is in- fusilli, bought pesto with a can of tuna mashed in, with halved cherry tomatoes, all gently heated while the pasta cooks.

Oh, or pizza toast! Which is toast with tomato puree, various cheeses and whatever toppings, herbs

haha pizza toast always a winner with my toddler!

my go to is toast (always white bread!) butter and marmite

Saracen · 06/07/2025 22:01

Start with posh curry sauce. Add miscellaneous leftover veg and ready-cooked chicken pieces. Mix together and microwave.

DH cannot understand how I get through so much chicken. He thinks I would only use it in sandwiches. I don't see the point of buying raw chicken and cooking it for my dinner when I can buy it pre-cooked from Aldi and just chuck it straight on in 😂

Ok this is going to sound disgusting but I promise you it's delicious - packet of idaho instant mash with lots of butter, topped with tuna mayo! It's creamy and buttery and the contrast of hot potato and cold tuna mayo is 👌

That’s a jacket potato without the skin, yum!

TheodoraCrumpet · 06/07/2025 22:00

Buttered scone or toasted teacake, with a glass of tomato juice for the savoury element. Might finish it off with a bag of crisps, for balance.

marginallyawake · 06/07/2025 21:59

If alone, crisps and wine.
Cooking for family, pasta with a jar of pesto, olives on the side.

Yes, Boursin would be better. I’m going to make it this week 🙌🏻

I do it with boursin cheese but also put chilli flakes on top of the bousrin cheese and add in chorizo with the cherry tomatos. It is soooo tasty!

REDB99 · 06/07/2025 21:57

Egg on toast - either fried or scrambled

Scampi in the air fryer with some salad

Agree with PP that eating ham out of the packet in front of the fridge does sometimes constitute ‘dinner’

Air fried salmon in with frozen chargrilled frozen veg - makes me feel like it’s a proper meal

Agree with other PP, rice from a pack fried with egg but I add spring onion or other veg

Avocado on toast

Pre made sticky rice from a packet, warmed up - I fry it but it can be microwaved. Pre cooked salmon fillet, cooked from frozen edamame beans, half an avocado with some black sesame seeds sprinkled on top of it all. Add some kind of Asian sauce - eg sriracha, soy sauce, some sushi ginger etc. It takes less than 10 mins but really yummy & healthy 😍

Just added these things to my shopping list!

Packet of my kids’ Pom Bears and a chilled glass of champagne. Heaven.

Endofyear · 06/07/2025 21:54

Spudthespanner · 06/07/2025 21:16

I will definitely be doing this!

You can also do it with a packet of boursin - delicious!

Potato waffle in the toaster. Eat between two slices of buttered bread with ketchup.

Edited

Oh wow! Like a chip butty. But not. I’m going to try that😃

Kelticgold · 06/07/2025 21:52

Plain, microwave porridge.
Easy to make, mega easy to clean after. Comforting, healthy, one step closer to death.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 06/07/2025 21:49

Instant noodles.
