Do Teddies have kids who struggle academically?

Hello All,

Just seeing if any current parents can tell me if the vast majority of kids at Teddies thrive academically. I have heard this from current parents and students.

If ever a thread warranted the reinstatement of the laugh emoji it is this one. I have shrieked with laughter, that teddy underwear set, imagine get kitted out in that in this weather!

They struggle academically but they do throw a mean picnic.

🤣🤣🤣

probably more answers re the school strewn amidst posters toying with the thread than if she’d given the school its full name.

Oh for God's sake, I thought of "toying" opened this thread to add my beautifully witty pun and see you got your paws on it first.

You're not invited to my picnic

Or these.

Who is the target market for this delightful ensemble?

Bearly anybody has answered her actual question though. I hope she doesn’t bear a grudge for all these silly responses.

Teddies here tend to be total numptys. Their picnics are, at best, average (suspect the sausage rolls are supermarket bought) and their honey related table manners are appalling. On the other hand, post A levels, most tend to pretty quickly end up as high court judges or married to minor aristocracy, so...

Perhaps we should panda to her and start being serious 😁

I just don't think the OP is on my wavelength though. Polar opposites.

We’ve got it all wrong — it’s not teddies, it’s teddies.

So underbear, not stuffed toys?

I wish MN hadn't taken away the laughing emoji - SO many brilliant pasts on here.

I want to save this thread, to put a link to it on all the weekly threads that new posters start, moaning about how mean everyone on MN is.
This is what I love to read.

Sophiehoney · 03/07/2025 23:04

OP, I feel for you, you came on here to ask a simple question and everyone is just being silly.

I can't bear to see it. I think you should tell them all to get stuffed.

Oh come on now MN - reinstate the laugh emoji pleeease🙏 this thread is hilarious 😂 🤣🤣

Edited

Totally! 😂And also, this thread should be in Classics.

CBA to read the whole thread but presume this is about King Edwards in Oxford (teddies). Met three from there. Two absolute crushing boorish twats and one lovely, sensitive and thoughtful. All doing pretty well academically. I’m in my late 30s though so may have changed.

Good evening. I am starting a campaign "Free Pink Pauline" . She has been locked in a cupboard since 1968, which is surely a cruel and unusual punishment.
Who will support this cause?

We should start a GoGundMe for Pink Pauline so she can use it to buy her freedom, hire a lawyer and sue her jailer for false imprisonment!

FREE PINK PAULINE!!!!

Is this St Edward’s Oxford? It took the rich but middling kids from my son’s prep school who hadn’t got into MCS or boarding schools.

I went to a comp in Oxford. We called the St Edwards kids " the Tim nice but dim". However they werent nice they were always the most sexist and snobby twats.

She's having a Pooh

I'm just imagining the OP coming back to the thread and thinking, "WOW! So many replies" and then opening the thread and.....😱😱😱
