i need everyone’s recommendations on TV shows to watch whilst I can’t do anything for the next eight weeks. I had a fall last week and completely snapped my ulnar and my radius and broke my wrist I had surgery on it to plate and screw the 2 bones back together and now I’m not allowed to do anything at all for the next 8 weeks I’ve only been home since Friday and I’m already bored. Thank you for any recommendations.

Dept Q on Netflix is excellent! (Solving old crimes)

This!!!

ThePoliteLion · 30/06/2025 23:21

Belatedly, I’ve discovered Emily in Paris. Funny, smart escapism. All 4 seasons are on Netflix

The West Wing is the only one I ever watch over and over. Restart every few years. And then you can listen to The West Wing Weekly podcast alongside too 😁

Parenthood is fabulous, wish I could unknow it and watch again, only discovered recently so was able to watch all series without waiting.
just watched Four Seasons on Netflix, only 8 episodes was very good.
Based on a True Story if you like murder ones, but different.

Greetingscard · 30/06/2025 23:04

Clarkson's Farm. It's bloody brilliant and given me so much love and respect for all farmers. A real eye opener.

Endofyear · 30/06/2025 21:47

Here's a few I've enjoyed watching -

Firefly Lane
Virgin River
Catastrophe
Love on the Spectrum
Into the Fire - The Lost Daughter

My niece is obsessed with stranger things and now is probably the ext time to sit and binge watch it. Thank you

And if you love it, you can get excited for the final season to come out in November!

Pottedpalm · 30/06/2025 19:53

Oops, no! I see there is a series called the Residence too!

A few other random thoughts...

The Residence (Netflix)
You (Netflix)
The Gentleman (Netflix)
Clarkson's Farm (Amazon Prime)

I also really like Below Deck, but it's not for everyone - a bit of rich people on yachts escapism!

@OliveWah did you mean the Resident? We loved that .. there must be hundreds of .

Patcherdog · 30/06/2025 19:50

There are some excellent tv series on Walter Presents on Channel 4 if you don't mind subtitles and it's all free.

Re watching Dexter
Currently watching The Godfather of Harlem and it's fucking brilliant so far

OliveWah · 30/06/2025 19:38

I would also highly recommend Severance, such an unusual concept.

Handmaids Tale (Netflix)
Snowpiercer (Netflix)
Your Friends and Neighbors (Apple)
The Crow Girl (Paramount)
Dexter (the original series, then New Blood, then Original Sin, all on Paramount, and a new series; Resurrection coming on the 11th July)
Silo (Apple)
