Grossed out by new partner walking in when I was showering

I have a fairly new partner, my first after my 10 year marriage ended. I stayed at his for the first time last night and went to have a shower this morning (no lock on the door). A few minutes in my partner walked in and used the loo!! He was sat there trying to talk to me and I didn’t know where to look. When I said afterwards I didn’t expect that he said it shows how comfortable he is around me and that his past relationships have always been like that so it’s just normal these days.

I can tell you in my entire marriage my ex never walked in on me to use the loo and vice versa! I found him sitting there and ‘dropping off’ a right turn off to be honest!

YANBU

I don't want to see anyone having a shit🤮

NoBots · 28/06/2025 18:29

Gross!

BarilynBordeaux · 28/06/2025 18:29

Oh my god that’s vile. I’d be chucking him faster than a handful of hot shit, almost literally in his case.

Hedgehogshelp · 28/06/2025 18:17

A wee I would say is normal but just a poo! Wouldn’t him flushing make the water pressure go down so it would have to sit there u til you have finished…

I am pretty relaxed about most things but we don’t poo in front of each other. Burp, fart yep, but not an actual shite 🤣🤣

It’s the wiping as well 🤢.

Massive red flag. He's testing your boundaries.

I agree with this. Huge red flag. Dump and run, if you’ll pardon the pun.

Waynettaaa · 28/06/2025 18:27

Been married 32 years and my DH never has and never would, do that. Hideous!

LakieLady · 28/06/2025 18:26

TwistedWonder · 28/06/2025 17:53

That’s fucking gross. I’m nearly 60 and no man has ever taken a shit while in showering in same bathroom

I agree he’s testing your boundaries. I think it would be a deal breaker for me - 🤮

I'm nearly 70 and no-one has ever shat while I'm in the bathroom, either!

And vice versa, even when I had campylobacter and was getting next to no warning. It was a big concession not to lock the door, DP convinced me it was a good idea not to in case I passed out in there.

GJD23000 · 28/06/2025 18:26

My DH comes in and does a pee when I’m in the shower but I would be in a rage if he did a poo!!! Yuk!! However, it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if I really liked the guy otherwise xx

ChillWith · 28/06/2025 18:26

Wtf?! That is so disgusting. I would pass out from the fumes. Dealbreaker for me

The sheer irony of your post 😂

Not sure you understand the meaning of irony Confused

housethatbuiltme · 28/06/2025 18:24

A wee maybe (more if he was desperate and couldn't wait) but a dump... nah thats gross.

I have literally wiped my DS arse a thousand times (as was my job as him mam) but now he can do it himself I would be freaked out to see him sat on the throne never mind anyone else. Poop is not really a spectator activity (unless you have a scat kink).

Crackanut · 28/06/2025 18:23

kittensinthekitchen · 28/06/2025 18:22

Oh yay, a first time poster. Why not share stories about shitting in front of other people with them?

I swear there's almost as much wrong with the people who entertain these threads as there is with those who start them!!

The sheer irony of your post 😂

Crikey, its just a bodily function. If you have sex then seeing him on the loo isn’t weird.

Well yes, it’s just a bodily function, and I wouldn’t be at all embarrassed if I accidentally walked in on someone having a shit…however, shit fucking stinks, so no, actually, I really would object to a bloke sitting having a stinking shit whilst I was in the shower!! I don’t want my shower time stinking of someone else’s fucking shit!! It’s not about embarrassment, or ‘seeing someone on the loo’, it’s about respectfully NOT shitting and stinking up my shower time!!

Wallywobbles · 28/06/2025 18:21

We do this. Maybe it’s the farmer in us. Not an issue.

bellamorgan · 28/06/2025 18:21

We both have bowel issues so when you have to go you go. I’ve pooped while his showering and the other way. His behind the glass door or I am. Windows open.

Water pressure is fine, frankly a fart in the shower smells worse than a poo in the bathroom in our house.

Though poo pee or not dh tends to be chatting away to me in the shower he tends to shower right after me and we basically swap places and chat along still.

But I did not even fart in front of now dh till I was probably giving birth to our first child. After that it became a free for all so years not mere days or weeks in. I mean there isn’t much to hide after watching a baby come out and putting my suppositories in.

Barney16 · 28/06/2025 17:16

Oh yak. Forty years or marriage or being in relationships and no one has ever done that. Gross.

Same here been married since 19 and 57 now. We don't have a lock on the door but respect each others privacy enough not to do that. I couldn't see him again.

Crackanut · 28/06/2025 18:21

So he basically forced you to witness him having a shit. That is utterly vile.

Sugarfish · 28/06/2025 18:20

I’d dump him for that.

I only have one bathroom and me and my partner always ask each other if we need to use the bathroom before one of us has a shower, then no one needs to burst in and take a shit when the other is showering.

Just because you have sex doesn’t mean you need to take a dump in front of each other. Totally different unless you’re into that type of thing I suppose.

Some people seem weirdly proud of doing this. It is not proof that you are a close couple, it’s proof that you’re disgusting!

Gallowayan · 28/06/2025 18:20

Be carefull here (sorry to have to say it..but) he may get off on this sort of thing.

Notouchingmybhuna · 28/06/2025 18:20

No no no. Boundaries boundaries boundaries.

saraclara · 28/06/2025 18:19

HelenaJl · 28/06/2025 17:34

His house has a downstairs loo so it wasn’t that

So he had another option but chose to poo in front of you instead?

Now that's weird.

You don't have to be upright not to want to smell poo when you're showering to feel fresh @Clychaugog

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 28/06/2025 18:19

This is definitely a thing where you're either in a relationship where its normal, or it's considered disgusting. Either is fine, but its weird not to check your new partners thoughts on it before you do it.

Edenmum2 · 28/06/2025 18:18

i couldn’t date someone who doesn’t have a lock on his bathroom door
