Grossed out by new partner walking in when I was showering

I have a fairly new partner, my first after my 10 year marriage ended. I stayed at his for the first time last night and went to have a shower this morning (no lock on the door). A few minutes in my partner walked in and used the loo!! He was sat there trying to talk to me and I didn’t know where to look. When I said afterwards I didn’t expect that he said it shows how comfortable he is around me and that his past relationships have always been like that so it’s just normal these days.

I can tell you in my entire marriage my ex never walked in on me to use the loo and vice versa! I found him sitting there and ‘dropping off’ a right turn off to be honest!

Yuk

HorrorFan81 · 28/06/2025 17:20

Me and DH will do a wee whilst the other is in the room (but we asked each other early on jf thats ok). But never a poo. Absolutely grim. If you want to see him again tell him thats a boundary for you

BlueRin5eBrigade · 28/06/2025 17:19

15 years married and my husband has never dropped a load with me in the room. If I was in the shower and he needed the loo he'd ask me to finish up.

YesButNoButMayybee · 28/06/2025 17:19

We're a very free, open, intimate couple and we still have never had a poo in front of each other! There's just no need.

I'd be really pissed off if a man decided that since he was comfortable enough going to the toilet in my presence that it automatically follows that I'd be okay with having to endure his bodily functions and their smells. No thanks!

Catwoman8 · 28/06/2025 17:19

Ewwww no I wouldn't like that either , its definitely not as normal as he is saying

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 28/06/2025 17:19

Our bathroom door is permanently open. It only gets shut if there's guests 😂. We do give each other some privacy but have been known to chat across the landing when one is on the throne 😂.
Wouldnt have done in the early days though were 2 kids and half a pregnancy in these days!!!!!!!

Couldthiswork · 28/06/2025 17:19

No. Just no. I’m ridiculously relaxed but that is just revolting, even more so the first time you stayed over 😳

DildoSaggins · 28/06/2025 17:19

Oh hell no. Not a shit.

My DH and I will go into the bathroom if the other is in the shower and have a widdle but neither of us has ever sat and taken a dump. Its pretty shit (pardon the pun) to have to hear and smell that when you are trying to have a nice shower. Gross!!!!! 😳

Letmehaveabloodyusernameplease · 28/06/2025 17:19

🤢

Glitchymn1 · 28/06/2025 17:18

Some people just don’t care- ‘we all do it’ mentality. . But YANBU 🙈

DeedlessIndeed · 28/06/2025 17:18

That's not normal. I don't mind DH coming in for a chat but that is it.

What rock did this creature crawl out from? Send him back there OP.

Eldermileniummam · 28/06/2025 17:18

I wouldn't like that OP and he should have checked with you whether you'd mind rather than just going for it!

Is he embarrassed now you've made clear you don't like that.

Berlinlover · 28/06/2025 17:18

Pooing in front of you the first time you stayed over is insane. I wouldn’t want to see him again.

SchnizelVonKrumm · 28/06/2025 17:17

he said it shows how comfortable he is around me and that his past relationships have always been like that so it’s just normal these days.

Massive red flag. He's testing your boundaries.

ninjahamster · 28/06/2025 17:17

That’s gross.

iamnotalemon · 28/06/2025 17:17

No no no! I’d never feel that comfortable around someone (or want someone to be that comfortable with me) 🤣

Username73492 · 28/06/2025 17:17

🤮

Lavender14 · 28/06/2025 17:16

I wouldn't ever expect someone to do a poo while I'm in the shower or vice versa but I'd have no issue with a wee. I think the fact it smells is really inconsiderate. Unless they are absolutely desperate it's a no for me.

Barney16 · 28/06/2025 17:16

Oh yak. Forty years or marriage or being in relationships and no one has ever done that. Gross.

CanOfMangoTango · 28/06/2025 17:16

Oh my God.

That's disgusting. A wee is one thing but 💩!!!!

BusWankers · 28/06/2025 17:16

Ilovemyshed · 28/06/2025 17:11

Crikey, its just a bodily function. If you have sex then seeing him on the loo isn’t weird.

It's definitely not the same.

BusWankers · 28/06/2025 17:15

Ergh.... A poo?
I don't even like seeing my husband do a wee! We've been married 19years.

FOJN · 28/06/2025 17:14

I have never seen a partner go for a poo and I never want to. He's disgusting. I wouldn't be able to see him again.

DancingDucks · 28/06/2025 17:14

Ilovemyshed · 28/06/2025 17:11

Crikey, its just a bodily function. If you have sex then seeing him on the loo isn’t weird.

Just because you have sex with someone it doesn't mean you want to see or hear them have a shit. YANBU OP.

AcquadiP · 28/06/2025 17:13

That's 😝
