Glastonbury worst I've seen!

Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I’m not going to debate metaphor with you. He is a gentle person but I’m not going to be able to persuade you. I can see that what he said is highly emotive for you and others and I fully respect and understand your perspective. I just have a very different opinion and that’s ok too.

Maybe he didn't mean the queen as a person rather a collective of queens?

As an aside I wouldn't call them a punk band. Punk bands included some really talented and creative musicians.

Music and art use metaphor, exaggeration, and symbolism to express emotions, critique power, and provoke thought, not to give literal instructions. Protest music and art channel rage, grief, or hope into powerful language to challenge the status quo, not incite specific actions. Taking it literally misses the point - it's not a manual, it's a mirror.

Well Gloriia, probably because there are literally 100s of things to be pissed off about right now…and he picked the one that we seem to helping with and that is causing the most current actual deaths. Im not sure you understand. The IDF is an army. If someone said Death to IDF soldiers then it’s different. The IDF as an organisation is abhorrent and that’s what Bob was referring to. He wasn’t and I wasn’t condoning the calling for the killing of people. His desire and mine is exactly the opposite of that. If I said Death to the National Front - I wouldn’t mean killing the people in it but and end to the organisation. If I said Death to racism - I would mean kill all racists but to end racism as an ideology.

I'm appalled by what is happening in Gaza as I was about October 7th.. There have clearly been war crimes and Netanyahu should be indicted. It's evil. As was what Hamas did.

I condemn anyone inciting death including that earlier poster.
