Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I was surprised how many younger people were in the audience for Pulp. And they knew all the words.

But God forbid older people go to a festival and enjoy themselves instead of sitting at home providing free childcare for a generation that openly despises them.

Wow, who hurt you? 😂

MaryGreenhill · 29/06/2025 10:48

Myles Smith just lovely 😍

Hmm yet he didn't say death to hamas who slaughtered all those innocent people ironically attending a festival. Not very balanced with demands for death is he!

As an aside corrie was in an area being demolished, she was killed by a bulldozer. She shouldn't have been there. Unlike the Nova festival goers who had every right to be where they were.

The IDF is a terror army meting out terror on children. Nothing you can come back with will ever justify their actions.
As for Rachel Corrie, it’s the bulldozer that shouldn’t have been there, not the young woman trying to defend people’s homes from destruction. And who was defending and aiding the bulldozing? Oh look, it was the IDF. The most immoral army in the world.

He was saying death to the IDF because they are bombing and shooting people who are trapped in a small space including those seeking food and other aid.
Because they are posing for gloating selfies in the ruins of what were the homes of the children they murdered.
Because they are aiding and abetting violent settlers in the West Bank.
Because they killed Rachel Corrie.
Because they killed Tom Hurndall.
Because they killed Hind Rijab.
Because they killed aid workers and medics.
Because they are a colonialist occupying army.
The fact they are Jewish is not even on the radar. People are just disgusted by the disgusting actions of this army.

He was saying death to the IDF because they are Jewish, that is inciting hate and violence. Notice how he didn’t say death to hamas.

He's an attention seeking wanker I hope he gets arrested although that's probably what he wants to be some kind of Glasto martyr. All the flag wavers would love it.

No, he was saying death to the IDF because they are murderers.

I direct you to this article: I’m a queer Palestinian. Stop using my identity as cover for the destruction of Gaza | Jad Salfiti in the Guardian June 25th.

Apart from a band called IDLE there’s just no energy in any of the other bands this year - the ones I’ve seen all just seem to be turning out music that’s just so downbeat and depressing …

Loved that Tom Odell sang A tribute to Brian Wilson .
Tom was fantastic.

Raye don't half remind me of Amy Winehouse

I said this to my Dds.
She sounded so like her and even some of her mannerisms , dance moves .

It amazes me at how well the Kneecap grift works. The most they now about living under British "occupation" is one member whose father wrote scripts for BBC dramas.

They look most Gen Z in Britain romanticise the IRA because they didn't live through it.

Doesn't he know Ireland is Irish?

70s and at the height of the Troubles. It was banned by the BBC (of course) and questions may have been asked in the House!!

I don't think it works that way. The Irish army wouldn't be protected because they are Catholic or the Saudi Arabian because they are Muslim. Being part of a military isn't a protected characteristic no matter your ethnicity or religion.

I don't think being a member of a foreign army is a protected characteristic is it? So it's a stretch to call it a hate crime.

17yo DS watched Pulp with us and knew all the songs. He has a very eclectic music taste

That's not hate speech and incitement to violence is it though?

Popstars always try to be controversial we had the Sex Pistols with their God save the Queen etc but saying 'death death to the IDF' is clearly a step too far.

There should probably be a bingo card:

Unnecessarily tight trousers.
Shirt unbuttoned too low.
Hips gyrating/other "sexy" dance moves 🤢.
Young women old enough to be his granddaughter on stage for him to do said dance moves in front of.
Voice as rough as burnt toast.

That his career summed up in a few lines

I couldn’t believe how excited they were getting over Alanis Morrisette 😳

They were interviewing the festival goers and the average age appeared to be 65 and the NHS HR manager vibes were strong.

It would be incitement if we’re using the correct terminology

Where is the joy?! Think maybe there’s some grumpy old types on this thread…. 😆

Always have total fomo for glasto.
Would love to see en vogue, Alanis, Joy Crookes, Raye, Celeste, The Prodigy, Groove Armada, Self Esteem, - the atmosphere there is like nothing else. Long live tye magic of festivals! 🎉🎉🎉✨✨✨🤩🤩🤩🎪🏕️
