Tea....am I being ridiculous but why does tea taste awful in some mugs / cups, and lovely in others? And as for tea in a plastic takeaway cup, yuck!

The feel of the cup in your hand and against your lip affects the whole sensory experience.
cutlery can matter too - I really hate the feel of the wooden items which have replaced plastic for ‘food on the go’, even though they’re for a good reason. I really need to start carrying my own if we’re likely to be picking up an m&s salad bowl or suchlike.

I'm afraid I agree with the tradition of only drinking tea out of bone china cups or mugs.

I have a large bone china breakfast cup and saucer - with cats on- that I always use.

I think certain mugs end up with the tea strength being better depending on how much water the mug holds…so the ratio ends up being more to your preference if that makes any sense?!

I don't like tea from coloured cups, they've got to be white (at least on the inside).

I have a few cups i prefer to drink from, if my son buys weird mugs and makes my tea in them its not nice!! He recently bought these mugs with easter bunnies on the handle and theyre just wrong! Give me a nice white curved elegant mug every time (and dont get me started on the cups my kids received with their easter eggs a few years ago which are fluted in a really awful way!)

Tea in paper cups is horrendous. I don't know why. I can drink coffee from a bucket and not care. Presumably for me coffee is doing a job and tea is one of life's little pleasures.
