Where are the trans men?

BlueandPinkSwan · 27/06/2025 12:11

Just that really, we are always hearing about men wanting to 'become women'. Phycially, mentally and emotionally impossible, but why aren't women rushing to do the same thing in reverse?
Just interested to know as I'm gender critical, and hate the patriarcal society we live in.
Is it because men wouldn't accept it as a trans man being part of their tribe but women are forced to put up with trans women invading /trying to enter into woman only spaces?

Thinking about the PP whose trans husband is a prison officer in a male prison and is allowed in the showers with the male inmates.

What about strip searches?

Would a trans prison officer or a police officer be allowed to carry out a strip search on someone of the opposite sex?

I've often thought that when its M2F, often its sports that they like to 'excel' in, claiming biology doesn't matter and win awards.
If biology isn't important why aren't F2M winning in 'male' sports, if biology isn't important..surely it wouldn't make any difference...oh wait...
The F2M I know gave up their sport, female version of typical male sport, and 2 went into coaching instead. Why not switch to male game?

There is a male boxer who has won in their weight class who is trans.

Didimum · 27/06/2025 23:16

I believe there are more trans women than trans men because men generally present a much more hostile environment to exist in unless you subscribe to fairly strict borders, whereas women are socialised to be much more tolerant of many kinds of women. This leads to men who don’t fit the scope longing to fit elsewhere.

I know two trans men and no trans women. One is very quiet and keeps to himself. The other is very vocal on trans rights and will often be part of the protesting and campaigning.

I could quite easily pretend to be a transwoman and post these things myself. Have you met any of these people in real life?

If someone is trans and wants the trans community to be accepted that would not be the way to go about it. It is so, so detrimental to them.

If someone wanted the trans community to to be hated this is the perfect way to go about it.

Taking that into account I'd say it's far more likely that the ones against trans would post such stuff.

That would be an astonishingly successful undercover operation. They've been saying this stuff for well over a decade and the 'trans community' has had nothing to say about any of it.

There's no need for an undercover operation anyway, they are doing it in plain sight and the 'trans community' is cheering them on.

I am not sure to be honest. DH is legally male so when he joined he joined as a man, his passport is male, his drivers license is male, his hmrc records are male, birth certificate. He had to get a gender recognition certificate for this.

None of his colleagues know he is biologically female. Only one of his higher up managers.

The men who are showering naked in front of your female spouse don't know either, do they?

Do you think people should have a right to know the sex of the officials in front of whom they are required to undress? Do you think people should have a right to object and withold their consent to undressing in front of officials who are the opposite sex?

Have you read the SC judgment? It set out very clearly how the equality act, and especially the protected characteristics of sex and sexual orientation, are made incoherent and unworkable if rights are based on a cerificate instead of actual sex. What do you think about that? What does your spouse think?

I think they are, it’s just they 1) aren’t a physical threat to men; 2) aren’t stealing medals and awards from men; 3) aren’t as threatening and spiteful as TIMs when they don’t get their way or when boundaries are asserted. So, they just don’t draw attention to themselves. In short, women who identify as men quietly go about their business with less harmful impact on men or women. On the other hand, men who identify as women commit crimes at the same rate as men, are in jail for proportionally more sex offences than non-trans men and never stop demanding more and more access to everything including cervical smears and women’s health meet ups in libraries. So, trans identifying women don’t bother most of us in the slightest. It’s the men letting everyone down with their behaviour.

As usual.

The mistake you're making is thinking the people involved want to win hearts and minds. They don't. They want to intimidate and force into submission.

Yes. It’s quite telling the sheer number of prominent TW with, let’s say, tricky backgrounds with women, DV, close links to paedophilia, all neatly under the carpet in order to accept their true selves.

Haven’t been on Twitter for ages but Rip4xnutmeg collected a lot of these cases.

Yet this is what they're doing.

Its not difficult to identify some of these people. It's not some undercover operation.

Just typical male entitlement, aggression and misogyny.

DiscoBob · 27/06/2025 19:34

I've never knowingly met a transwoman. But I do have two transmen family. So for me it feels like where are all the trans women?

I don't know why anyone would want to become a man. It's not like they've got the greatest reputation as a species. But people clearly do feel that way.

I'm a bit concerned for my young trans family members for if they realise they are in fact their bio sex, as they've had 'top surgery'. It must be hard to say you want to go back to how you were originally.

SquashMeDown · 27/06/2025 19:12

They are there, they’re just not quite as vocal and visible about taking women’s rights as men.

I imagine there’s a huge element of them being male too so generally are given far more air time, tend to dominate, and continue to show the world how male they are with their reactions and entitlement.

Thank you for answering.

I wonder if I'm right in assuming then, that biologically male prison guards can enter the showers in a female prison too?

I genuinely thought this wouldn't be allowed.

There are plenty but their voice is irrelevant because they are women.

KaitlynnFairchild · 27/06/2025 19:02

Yes, he is treated the same as the other male Prision guards.

Extraordinary the number of MNers who know “loads” of trans people, given that by all accounts they are a teeny tiny minority. Even the fucked-up ONS figures have them as less that 0.1% of the population, don’t they? But yet they all know an MNer 🙄.

As others have said, women who ID as trans are not a threat to men in the way men are to women. But it’s noticeable that among children, it’s predominantly girls these days, whereas middle-aged women rarely seem to have a road to Damascus moment when they realise they’ve been a man all along.

in my case its because i socialise in largely LGBTQ+ circles, so yes, a majority of my friends and broader social group are gay, lesbian, trans & non binary.

It doesn't mean they're not a minority, but because i know so many, i'm going to be drawn to the thread.

Can I ask a curious question please?

If your husband had to enter the male prisoners showers during the course of the job, would that be allowed?

Yes, he is treated the same as the other male Prision guards.

KaitlynnFairchild · 27/06/2025 19:01

Ddakji · 27/06/2025 18:25

But it sounds like @KaitlynnFairchild wasn’t bisexual until she ended up married to a trans identitfying woman.

Yes I was straight- attracted to men.

I met and married my DH, legally defined as a man, however biologically female so I realised I am not as straight as I thought.

Do now I consider myself bi sexual.

Not sure why you are taking it as a point to be discussed, it fits entirely into YOUR narrative that biologically my DH is female. You seem to want me to be disagreeing with you?

FlirtsWithRhinos · 27/06/2025 19:01

While not disagreeing with the general point that the ambitions and actions of trans men tend to be less directly abusive of women, I will say the trans man Stephen Whittle has done a huge amount of damage to women's rights and the social acceptance of woman-only provisions.

Pliudev · 27/06/2025 18:58

It's because men are used to having their voices heard and their opinions listened to. Even after they have transed (if that's a word ), they continue to expect to be heard and shout down women such as JK Rowling who challenge them. They want it all, just as they always have.

MaySea · 27/06/2025 18:55

I know more trans men than trans women.

TinyTempest · 27/06/2025 18:52

KaitlynnFairchild · 27/06/2025 16:30

The men my husband works with can not tell he is biologically female. Believe me, in prison, if they knew, he would be dealing with all kinds of abuse. He gets abuse for balding, being short, being muscular, wearing glasses. They would not hold back.

Can I ask a curious question please?

If your husband had to enter the male prisoners showers during the course of the job, would that be allowed?
