Neighbour stirring & to just ignore her now?

I have nice neighbours on both sides fortunately but there is one who lives a few doors down who I find extremely nosey and a stirrer.

More often I will just say hello to her but now I just want to blank her completely.

I had the low fence taken down and a higher fence erected as the old fence was worn and tatty.

She rarely speaks to my neighbour on the right and went up to her and said I was partitioning of that side because I didn’t like her etc.
I heard bits of the convo from my front window.

I saw my neighbour today when I was gardening and she spoke to me first and asked if I had any issues with her and I told her no, I just wanted the fence to look better as with the garden as everyone has got garden fever and ensuring their gardens looks good.

She repeated what I had heard and I ensured her that there was no issues whatsoever and we had a chat about gardening and both agreed that the said neighbour is a stirrer.

Shall I just blank this neighbour who loves to stir as I am really not happy that she said this.

I agree with the pp. Best not to blank her, keep any interaction with her polite. Blanking her will likely just make her behaviour worse.

I wouldn't blank her mainly because she'd love that. Imagine the shit she'd be able to talk about how mean you are. I would be very brief and polite but not engage with her in any way.

I would be polite when i see her a quick hello but would keep my distance
