Silly little conspiracies you believe in

Not serious ones like Diana was murdered etc, but silly little ones.

For example,

when it comes to wipes in a packet, I’m positive they rig it so more than one wipe comes out at a time. Then they make the sticky reseal not as sticky so they dry out quicker meaning you have to go and buy more instead of using what you’ve got

When you're on the motorway and the traffic suddenly slows down and bunches up for no apparent reason, this is because you're travelling through a patch of Slow Time. Otherwise known as Eddies in the Space Time Continuum.

Fact.

Eddies in the Space Time Continuum.

Is he?

I think that when they put, say, a 50mph limit on the motorway for no visible reason, that’s it’s an exercise in societal control.

Absolutely this. The northern part of the M25 was in 50mph roadworks for months, then when they were completed and we were hopeful that normality was resuming, the signs said "speed limit in place for system test", and the 50mph limit remained for about TEN WEEKS. It was certainly a test of societal patience. It reminded me of when the signs said "minimise travel" during the ultimate exercise in societal control (lockdown).

My ear nose and throat surgeon said tissues irritate your airways and to always use cloth handkerchiefs. So I do and I think its true. My nose is a lot less irritated when using old fashioned hankies.

Edited

That's interesting but they do.seem unhygenic,I guess you have to wash after every use .

The fact that you never get lids on pots of cream or yoghurt anymore, just the peel back foil, meaning it's harder to keep them for more than one use.

and coleslaw and potato salad. I have stopped shopping at Tesco because of this. It’s supposed to save the environment, but really it increases food waste; and makes it more difficult to keep items containing egg from accidentally contaminating other items (my son has an allergy)

Jaggy1 · 26/06/2025 22:18

Some petrol stations have it rigged so you can’t get an exact number.

Tissues are designed to irritate the lining of your nose and make you more snotty so that you buy more tissues.

Steve Jobs is still alive. I served him when I worked at Wetherspoons. He was definitely Steve Jobs, the two other people on the bar that day can corroborate this, along with two people from the kitchen who I called up to have a look. DH wasn’t working that day and doesn’t believe us, he thinks we are orchestrating some kind of wind up - but that was Steve Jobs, and yes he was at Wetherspoons. I am not crazy. This was not mass psychosis.

Steve Jobs in Spoons ????? 🤣

Dishwasher tablets have those fancy bits on them so that you can break them in half to save money.

Bay leaves have no flavour - it's all a scam promoted by Big Bay to get you to waste money on leaves

Agreed .

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 26/06/2025 21:59

Cats understand human language perfectly. They just choose to completely ignore any request we make of them.

OK, so I've just gone on google and I've had a look at the two dresses side by side an I now 100% believe your theory. That is the same bloody dress!!!

I’ve just had to gave a look as well, and it’s so true.

My husband thinks once you become a glasses wearer your eyesight rapidly declines...

Funny my optican said this to me. He told me to only wear them when I was driving(distance). I took him at his word. 40 years on my prescription hasn't changed. I have seen various opticians in various parts of the country.

I refuse to use umbrellas, ever. Horrid things.

Me too, hate them.

reinforcementz · 26/06/2025 21:46

Sudocrem is a barrier cream that stops nappies being absorbent, leading to nappy rash, leading to you needing to use more Sudocrem.

Umbrellas are made poorly so they break otherwise ‘Big Umbrella’ would go out of business.

Catherine, Princess of Wales only had one wedding dress. There was a lace overlay for the church ceremony with the train that was removed for the evening reception and she added a sparkly belt and fluffy cardigan. That’s why there’s no ‘second dress’ to exhibit.

Links to other sites are strategically placed so you will inadvertently click on them with your thumb when doom scrolling through an app and get a webpage open up. Gives me the absolute rage

Omg I thought I was the only one! It massively pisses me off! My DP says I'm beong irritational 🤣🤣

I have a theory about lost socks - I think that elves steal them and turn them into random tupperware lids that don’t fit any of the tubs in your cupboard!

They make clothes with all the missing socks.😂

“We are having a higher call volume than normal. Please hold. Your call is important to us”

Yeah yeah yeah. You ALWAYS say there is a higher call volume

This one definitely 👌
