Silly little conspiracies you believe in

Not serious ones like Diana was murdered etc, but silly little ones.

For example,

when it comes to wipes in a packet, I’m positive they rig it so more than one wipe comes out at a time. Then they make the sticky reseal not as sticky so they dry out quicker meaning you have to go and buy more instead of using what you’ve got

I think this one might be true!

Yep, bank holiday weekends too, so you can’t do anything until Tuesday.

Tights are deliberately designed to be flimsy and ladder easily so you have to keep buying more unless you cut off the unladdered legs and wear them together to create a new pair.

This is genius! Will suggest it to DD who seems to need a new pair every day!

As soon as you go to the loo the delivery/ phone call you've been waiting all day for happens.

Or they arrive when you make something to eat, sit down and take the first mouthful...

I think one of my cats is a Russian sleeper agent. She understands Russian better than English and she's always watching me.

The young people car black boxes are rigged. Only ever score 4/5 for night time driving and the car is 100% never driven at night or even in the evening. Only score 2/5 for smoothness and I dispute that too! 😁

If this is true
Why is this a problem in this day and age
I can understand back in the day this happening but not now.

Because Leonardos career has been going since the late 90s when it might have been a problem, and back then, he was a heartthrob that teenage girls hung posters of in their bedrooms. Coming out as gay would have changed absolutely everything for him and it would have held him back, sadly.
It might not be a problem now (although sadly I still think people would view him differently) but he can't now admit he's lied all thsse years. He's stuck pretending.

Not saying I beleive this theory, but I think it makes total sense.

My husband thinks once you become a glasses wearer your eyesight rapidly declines...

I thought this was a known thing? There are fancy more expensive lenses which are meant to help combat this????? Maybe I dreamt this!

That every important letter sent by local authorities, the NHS, lawyers etc. will be carefully timed to arrive on a Friday or Saturday so that you have to stew on it all weekend without being able to respond.

My mum is convinced that they hire small actors for sofa adverts to make the sofas look bigger lol

😂😂😂

I don't know why, but that just tickled me

Built-in obsolescence isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just a fact of life these days. Nothing is made to last so that they can keep consumerism at the highest level.

Sudocrem is a barrier cream that stops nappies being absorbent, leading to nappy rash, leading to you needing to use more Sudocrem.

How dare you. Sudocreme is a little pot of miracles. Love the stuff. Always have some in the house even though mine are out of nappies. It cures everything

Soubriquet · 27/06/2025 11:58

Door knobs deliberately move or get bigger just so they can snag you when you’re angry as you go by

The TV show 'only connect' is a recruiting tool for the intelligence services...
👀😎

Yes! That’s so obvious. Why hadn’t I realised.

and interior design manipulation by companies who want our homes to be like fast fashion paying influencers. Bifolds were amazing. They'd be a classic, they connected us to the outdoors. Then suddenly bifolds are bad, critalls are great. People rush to buy crittal. Oh wait let's bring back French doors. They are so classy. People rush to buy French doors..
Open plan was amazing. Oh no open plan is terrible you get too much time with others. The noise the smell. Bring back multiple little rooms.
Ad infinitum.
Maybe there's a interior design mass manipulation council somewhere.

Hotels in Spanish resorts get kick backs from lilo sellers to stop them having a 'help yourself to last week's lilos' sign and an area to leave all the plastic stuff you paid for but don't want to take home.

Women used to have pockets in their clothes, either incorporated in to the clothing or a separate pocket you wore under your top layer.

They disappeared when the suffragettes were accused of carrying things like hat pins to carry out their 'deeds'.

As for the glasses making your eye sight worse, I was at the optician on Wednesday, my distance vision has improved.

You naturally become more long sighted with age.

Definitely think 'big-purse' uses a lot of pressure to ensure women's clothes have either non or useless pockets to make sure they keep buying handbags and purses. Not sure of the logistics but definitely makes sense.

I feel that many quiz shows are rigged. Agree that one person on pointless is hard to prove , plus who do they ask ? I’ve never been asked.
I don’t think the coughing man on Millionaire was being fake , it was because they didn’t want to pay out to them as they had set up their own ‘quango ‘ to try and win it with some others and it was all a coincidence.
9/11 happened soon afterwards so it dropped out of the news anyway.

There's an invented technology to make very robust untearable tights, but big tight companies bought it and aren't releasing it.

I need big tights, I cannot lie.

That pandas do not exist and are not a real animal. They are humans in costumes.
