In shops and cafes, barking and making people jump, tripping over them in the street... Seems everyone and their Auntie Flo has a dog nowadays.

It should be like e-scooters etc, fine on your own land, but not allowed in public.

Given the prevalence of e-scooters, thats probably not the best suggestion!😆

Us dog-dislikers aren’t the ones who find grasping a grim, still warm chod through a few microns of polyethylene a turn-on.

We pick it up because it’s the polite thing to do. You lot seem to get a massive kick out of talking about it.

Neither are dog owners. Picking up after them is just responsible. We don't get turned on by it. There is something wrong with you if you think that.

@YeOldeGreyhound

maybe there could be special dog areas people can take their dogs? Cos let’s face it even when picked up dog shit is gonna leave a residue. Also if dog has upset stomach it may be impossible to pick up.
then it’s all contained and doesn’t infringe on the rest of the village/town

I see Hulk is also obsessed with arseholes - maybe these people are just obsessed with bum holes generally?

This is hilarious. Dog haters on here go on about dog owners treating their dogs like humans, when you are doing exactly that.
Dogs are not humans, so we don't hold them to the same standards.
Humans only wear clothing and don't piss in the street because of societal standards. We are literally brought up and taught to act less like animals.

Or us dog owners crack on as we are and you lot get weirdly excited (?) about it.

@Onleemoi

please don’t crack on as you are dog owners as clearly some don’t pick up their shit!
should be a £1500 fine for anyone not picking up their dog shit

Much better for your shoes Muff, as it is kinder to dogs tums and means they won’t do a Jackson Pollock turd.

Far better to not overfeed them with superfluous snacks like 'doggy ice cream' in first place, surely?

If a man crawled down the street with his anus on display, randomly pissed on various fixtures and fittings, then squatted down and curled out a horrific pile of shit, you’d all be flipping out about it.

”Ah, but dogs aren’t men” you’d say, “it’s ok when dogs do that”.

But at the same time you do treat them as humans, dragging them into food venues, feeding them “doggy ice-cream” and calling them your “boys” or whatever.

The way dogs behave is obnoxious, and if a human did it they’d be arrested. So we either treat dogs like humans (and stop the pissing and shitting everywhere) or we treat them like dogs and keep them on a lead, off the furniture and out of food venues.

Auntie Sally is that you?

On a warm sunny summers day even wearing much clothing is doubtful for some humans, our local coop has a sign to wear shirts..and men in particular will piss anywhere and everywhere. Societal standards aren't that high for a large number of humans.

I can honestly say that I have never barked at anyone & made them jump or tripped anyone up on my travels...

It is on another thread, but there is an explanation about how dog's bum holes work so they are not dirty after having a poo.
And why is it people who are not a fan of dogs are always obsessed with their anuses and excrement?

What’s wrong with it? It’s a cooling treat with mostly healthy ingredients such as spinach.
If we buy a foodstuff made for and marketed for dogs then we aren’t doing any harm and we are supporting an industry.

Absolutely nothing but they need to feel superior somehow.

I’ve bought my dog doggy beer before too but he wasn’t keen (clearly less vulgar than me).

Doggy ice cream.

Unclutch your pearls. Maybe get a dog. They are good for blood pressure.

Muffsies · 29/08/2025 18:45

YeOldeGreyhound · 29/08/2025 18:41

No, my dog loves her doggy ice cream, and I can spend my money how I please. There is nothing wrong with giving my dog something she enjoys. I am not sure how that is just vanity for me. I think it is more odd that it is something vulgar for you.
Spend your energy getting worked up about something that actually matters.

It’s also a massive contribution to the economy and creates many jobs.

Exactly. Although on here, someone posted that people becoming dog groomers is pulling people away from working in care homes. Which made no sense.

The pet industry is massive, worth about £10billion last year. That is a lot of tax.

YeOldeGreyhound · 29/08/2025 18:41

Muffsies · 29/08/2025 17:23

It doesn't. I'm just saying its deranged. People spending all this money on their dogs is crazy, and a bit vulgar tbh. The dogs literally don't care, it's just for the vanity of the owner.
