In shops and cafes, barking and making people jump, tripping over them in the street... Seems everyone and their Auntie Flo has a dog nowadays.

I see a dog on my lunchtime walk at work every day. It ruins my entire afternoon, and the owner just does not care, inconsiderate bitch that she is.

His name is Dex and he is a staffy and the goodest boy. And every day I have to end our cuddles to return to work!

I plan on writing a strongly worded email to the people who manage the business park I work at.

I told this on another thread, a shirtless man runner run past me and sweat flew off him onto me 🤢

That is grim. Clothes should be compulsory for running. 🤮

RedRiverHog · 25/06/2025 20:15

Went into my local town today. Saw one dog sat by it's owner. Met a friend for coffee in a dog friendly cafe. Zero dogs inside. Saw a collie pup and a spaniel when I left the cafe. That was it and I was in town for 3 hours. These dogs had no effect on my day at all.

But I did have my elbow knocked by a shopping basket as a lady pushed past me and a small child hit my leg with his balance bike handles.

So for me the humans were far more irritating.

I fully agree that’s grim

daft to run round a corner you can’t see round - bit like cycling too fast or driving too fast - or walking along looking at your mobile - just common sense really

RavenT · 25/06/2025 20:11

Here for the lovely dog pics. 😁

I've been knocked down by a runner coming around a blind corner at speed. Can we ban people running on pavements please. It could have been a small child knocked down, so dangerous.

Good!

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 25/06/2025 20:03

I’ll give you a heads up, don’t go to North Norfolk, you’ll be outnumbered.

WomanInTheBoat · 25/06/2025 20:03

Behaving myself on the bus even though i’m only 4 months old.

Dogs everywhere!
AcquadiP · 25/06/2025 19:50

FFS, not this again...
One in three households owns a dog including mine.
Two out of three households are dog free.

Statistically it is impossible for dogs to be "everywhere."

Posting just for the record with some anecdotal evidence

youngest son now a teen petrified of dogs as a result of being knocked over as a toddler a few times . Being told a dog is friendly is utterly irrelevant

two occasions being tripped up while running by off lead dogs - it really hurts when you hit the deck heavily especially as you age . Resulted in cuts bruises and 6 weeks unable to run

several times dogs jumping up at me - front paws on my upper arm and face in my face . One occasion literally face to face , the bruising was so long lasting the Dr sent me for a mammogram on the 2 week cycle. I’ve seen that dog and owner since and dog is now muzzled and on lead .

I don’t hate dogs , I’m live and let live on the whole . The problem is lack of training and just pure selfishness on the part of the owner on the whole

I adore dogs.never too many for me! Out at NT property. A lovely little black rough hair chap ,wagging his tail.greeting everyone with delight. His owner said he had a 2nd chance. Been terribly abused.she was devoted to him .he knew and was so gorgeous and pleased with himself

It is awful.

However I will have the last laugh, with my C-130 (or A400M).

Charming

Reality is dogs are taking the piss out of you and, other than throwing a wobbly on the internet, there’s nothing you can do about it.

This is what greeted me when I got up for a wee at 3am the other night. I have no idea where she came from. I don’t even have a dog.

you’re right OP. Dogs are everywhere, even in the bloody bath in the middle of the night!!!!

HA!

That's horrifying. So bad for their joints.

It's a GIF ... just a bit of fun! People do far worse with their dogs on a daily basis.

A series of unfortunate events

Hard agree.

I have only ever had negative experiences with dogs. Here's a partial list:

A dog ran under our picnic table, stuck its head suddenly up between my (then) toddler son's legs and tried to steal his sandwich.

A dog tried to bite the (pooed) nappy off my (then) toddler son on a beach.

A dog ran into a beer garden full of kids and went beserk terrifying mine and other kids. Nobody claimed it so I grabbed it by the collar and marched it out on its hind legs (to shame it). MARCH OF SHAME DOG. Someone pointed out I was "choking it". DIDN'T CARE.

I once stood in a cold dog turd on Hemsby beach.

A dog ran out of the boot of a car and chased me while aggressively growling. I turned around and yelled CUNT at it. Owner was distraught.

I was working near Athens and went for a swim in the sea before work. I took my hotel towel with me, left it on the beach. As I was swimming back in this massive Alsatian was approaching my towel, eager to piss. I grabbed a rock off the seabed and flung it to scare it off, but IT PISSED on my hotel towel. My white hotel towel was saturated in flourescent yellow DOG PISS looking like the canine FUCK had overdosed on BEROCCA. Now I had to leave my pissy stinking towel in the hotel room bath for the staff to deal with. PISS DOG.

A dog jumped up and dug its claws into my chest when I was running at York racecourse last year. The owner was looking at his phone. Should have STOVED ITS BOLLOCKS IN.

Yeah. I would go full PINOCHET MODE and yeet ALL DOGS out the back of a C130 Hercules or A400M (I'm not fussy) over the North Sea and call it the #foreverswim.

That's so much misfortune.

Mintsj · 25/06/2025 16:48

Problem is the owner, not the dog
