Aibu to think that he must be lying? He's healthy-looking and not too thin. Never seen him eat or drink.

There's no way that he exists on thin air.

Surely it depends on how long you do it for...? I mean I could say I've been a breatharain for the past 8 hours as I've been asleep and consumed no food or water during that time.

I was once in hospital for a week, the first 4 days I was nil by mouth. I was also on a drip.

So can I claim to have been a Breatharian for 4 days?

Sounds like this chap needs help.
i work in mental health and have seen patients who have an eating disorder cover it up with similar explanations, he could be lying or he could be developing delusional beliefs around this that could be very dangerous, I would monitor, speak to your boss if you have concerns.

Is that your deduction or is this what he's claiming? Either way, unless you are with him 24/7 then you don't know what he eats and drinks.

Albeit not a very long-lived one.

You could always eat plants, beans and vegetables. There is a happy medium between slaughtering a cow and dying 🤣

I just got quite cross about replies mocking a poster who asked a perfectly reasonable question to which she could not have known the answer. Felt it was a bit much. Then I saw this question. Perhaps your colleague does what I'm doing? Eating my words.

That's a good point. I used to have bulimia and always had alot of criticism growing up when I ate anything and I struggle to eat in front of other people. I don't eat in the office in front of people, ever.

I read about a breatharian who used to go out into the dessert to absorb energy from the sun. Apparently the best way to get it inside you is to go somewhere remote, take your kit off, bend over and point your chocolate starfish at the sun. Like a solar ray suppository.
