Aibu to think that he must be lying? He's healthy-looking and not too thin. Never seen him eat or drink.

There's no way that he exists on thin air.

If he’s been there for three years he’s either the second coming, a ghost, or a fucking fantasist.

I could believe a long term intermittent fast during work hours, but I bet he’s face first into a KFC bucket as soon as he gets home.

I never eat and rarely drink at work. Mostly because I like to take my time eating and physically can't eat quickly, and there's very few opportunities for a 'quick drink' of anything because it's a physical job. If anyone was rude enough to comment on my not eating or drinking then I might well tell them that I lived off nourishment in the air simply to shut them up.

I eat at home, where it's relaxed and I don't need to feel forced to gobble. Maybe he's the same?

I read something years ago, possibly the same article, where the breatharian was asked if she poo’ed. She said she passed “a rabbit sized pellet” every few days due to toxins in the air.

And possibly doesn't use the loo for OCD related reasons and avoids eating and drinking at work to avoid the urge.

It's a nonsense. There are a lot of mentally ill people advocating batty things in the online space. My brother who was mentally unwell found this very attractive and made him self repeatedly unwell following Breatharian principles. When he first became interested in this in the early 1990's he would email the advocate Wiley Brooks who lived in California to get advice because he could never achieve synronisation of his body to the earth, he kept on losing weight. Wiley would email back to say whenever this happened to her that she would liquidise a bunch of bananas and take a drink! Wiley Brooks was eating all the time but was in denial. Complete con woman.

My parents know someone who claims to be one. Every time they have seen her, she has even or drank. She claims this is 'to make others feel comfortable' or 'be espectful to the host'.

They often talk about thier plan to invite her over and serve a roast to see of she eats the lot out of politeness.

Yes he's lying. I'd keep a close eye on him - people are rarely quite this weird / delusional / dishonest in one respect without being mad / dodgy / downright dangerous in another.

Have you seen him go to the loo? I mean, not actually GO, but enter the gents' ?

We’re all taking the piss at what this cult is about but the beliefs have been linked to deaths of people who did try to actually live on air and sunlight. So if you become worried about your colleague’s physical or mental health can you speak in confidence to their manager? It’s good they seem normal weight at the moment.
