Silly things that give you the rage

Maybe its cos I'm peri but we were out for a meal and someone was eating chicken wings and being very meticulous about using a knife and fork to eat them and very slowly. It was holding up the next course for everyone.

Do you have any examples of getting the rage over something silly 🤣

That' new lynx advert is so unnecessarily graphic! Like the sanitary towel adverts! Now they have to pour red liquid on them....just incase a women doesn't know exactly what colour blood is. But thinking of it now as I write, maybe it's for men who think they're women. Just so they don't think it's a nappy! 🤣

Oh, I dunno... the ones with the blue liquid used to offend my sense of logic... 😄

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 25/06/2025 11:33

In regards to the adverts, when the pads ones forst came out, there were posts on here defending them.

It was all, oh if it makes men uncomfortable, tough, this is what it's like to be a woman etc.
So the current ones are unfortunately what happens once that door is opened.

I remember when they first did the sitting on the loo with pants showing, and i thought, it won't be long before we see bum wiping.

Same as men claiming man-opose to counter menopause.

(Disclosure: I don't associate with academics, professionals, teachers and linguists, so 🤷‍♀️).

That new Lynx ad is dreadful. People sniffing arses and bollocks. Why the fuck would anyone do that? Confused And yes to pouring red liquid on sanpro. WHAT the F?

I also detest the pissy pads adverts. Always on at mealtimes, and always portraying any woman over 40, as pissing herself when she sneezes, laughs, or farts! Hmm

Men have similar items for a weak bladder but these are never advertised. Funny that. Hmm Nooooo,, let's just make out only WOMEN piss their pants randomly in public. Fuxake! (I am late 50s BTW, and never EVER get pee leaks. I know, unbelievable right!) Shock

Oh, I've met plenty of people. I suppose I generally associate with other academics, professionals, teachers and linguists, so perhaps people saying them incorrectly haven't entered my circle.

Never met a Scot then?

Nope.

Yep

I agree re the photos. It’s one thing to have everyone pose and then that’s it but I’ve seen photos of myself that no one should see.

I wonder if the reason young women are so into make up and skincare is that everything they do is documented through photos. It’s like having a paparazzi.

broccolipizza · 25/06/2025 07:26

People who have to share photos online of everything they do. I’m lucky enough to have a good group of friends in my mid 40s but I’m starting to dread meeting up because I know it will be on social media next day. My heart sinks when I see I’ve been tagged on Facebook and I know it’s going to be the most unflattering photos that have been shared.
Sure, I can ‘untag’ myself or even just come off Facebook altogether, but that photo I find humiliating is still available for all our mutual friends to see. I can make it not appear on my profile, but it’s still on theirs. The ‘untag’ function offers very little privacy when the photo still appears on the feeds of everyone else. Just because my mate from work isn’t going to see it, it doesn’t mean the hundred or so mutual school and sixth form friends aren’t. I’d love to go out without photo evidence online and everyone commenting.

Podcasts that have "bonus material" directly after the main content has finished. Just include it if it's worth listening to, or leave it out if not. It's not a live broadcast with a strict time limit!

Strangers getting too close to me. For example, in a queue for the till in a petrol garage and they stand 1cm from me and breathe down the back of my neck. THIS QUEUE AINT GONNA MOVE ANY QUICKER AND YOU AINT GONNA BE SERVED ANY FASTER JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE PRACTICALLY STANDING ON THE BACK OF MY SHOE!!!!!! … rant over 😂

I hate this, really hate people standing way too close to me in a queue. Just why?!

Supermarkets / DIY stores that decide to sell plants but nobody bothers watering them. It makes me feel very sad / gives me the rage when I have to walk past a load of dead plants by the front doors. Such a waste.

When I was a kid my Mum would haggle for raggy looking plants at B&Q. I found it incredibly embarrassing, obviously, because I was nine.

I am not sure if this is silly or not but gigs where the main artist is really late (an hour or more) starting. If the people going are young then there is a good chance they have school or university the next day. If they are middle aged then they may need to get back for the babysitter or have meetings the next day. I’ve missed the end of gigs because they started late and I just couldn’t be later for the babysitter. I know it’s meant to be rock n roll but this is their job and people have paid them for it.

I remember reading about Lana Del Rey being an hour late for her set at Glastonbury then being upset because it was a hard end at 12:30pm.

And she came out and said something like "sorry I'm.late....I just couldn't get my hair to go right!" At least she was honest...!

Andoutcomethewolves · 24/06/2025 14:51

Ugh I'm applying for jobs and have another.

Where you can upload your CV to prefill the company application form, it never correctly fills it and I always have to go back and add things in, amend things... I have a really clearly set out CV, just use that FFS (obviously I know not everyone has and that's why they do the application forms but my god it's tedious)

zingally · 24/06/2025 14:45

People driving well below the speed limit.
A road near my house just happens to be on one of the main "loops" that the driving instructors use, and is on quite a few of the test routes, and so attracts a lot of learner drivers at all hours of the day.
I'm just trying to get home. Probably need a wee or a poo, or just like my feet are about to burst out of my shoes, and you're doing 20mph in a 40. Oh, and then there's the 3 sets of traffic lights in quite quick succession, and people stop for an age after they've gone green, or pause for a millennia to let every Tom, Dick and Harry in or out of the side roads.
JUST FUCKING MOVE.

People who say "hence why". Hence means "that is why". So you're basically saying "that is why why". Drives me into a murderous rage. Also people who say "less" when they mean "fewer" and people who say "amount" when they mean "number".

@HelenaWaiting Very similar to people referring to a PIN number. No. It’s just a PIN.

I’m a face painter and parents actually put food in their kids’ mouths WHILE I AM PAINTING THEM! They won’t starve in the 5 minutes they’re in my chair!!! 😡

My 18 year old son ate a sandwich he bought in Sainsbury's when collecting his glasses from the specsavers in there despite me pointing out he won't starve to death if he wants 5 minutes

qotsa · 24/06/2025 14:06

People calling every school holiday half term.

This better not happen with Billie Eilish. My daughter and her cousin have paid a fortune to see her in Manchester in a month 😳

People who say, "Should of.." instead of "Should have.."

Seriously winds me up.

Cocteautriplet · 24/06/2025 13:36

People that have silly over the top parties for their babies and young kids. I’m talking multiple entertainers / face painters/ balloon sculptures /huge tiered cakes and personalised attire for the guests that say things like ‘Madison’s 5th Birthday’ on the chest so they can’t be reworn. It’s just so much more about the parents need to instagram everything than celebrating the anniversary of their child’s birth.

Whenever people try to recreate the Abbey road crossing picture from the beatles album. On the album cover theyre just crossing the road, paying no heed to the camera. People recreating it stop and pose in a walking position and look at the camera. Really annoys me for some reason!! A perfect example was when Prince Harry and bon Jovi did it a few years in the daily mail.

And photos of people holding up the leaning tower of Pisa.

Just, no. No one I've ever met says, "Draw-er".

You've never been to Scotland?

@CruCru Whoops! I forgot the thread title was “silly things” what I meant was ‘your complaint is valid” !!
