Silly things that give you the rage

Maybe its cos I'm peri but we were out for a meal and someone was eating chicken wings and being very meticulous about using a knife and fork to eat them and very slowly. It was holding up the next course for everyone.

Do you have any examples of getting the rage over something silly 🤣

Lack of manners and basic hygiene. On the train home from work earlier and of course the short spell of nice weather brought out the bike wankers on the train. I normally sit on the fold out seats away from people because on the other 364 days a year it doesn't inconvenience anyone. Today, I had a young lad stinking like pig shit and energy drinks tell me to move, before I had the chance to ask if he would like the space (4 seats for his ridiculously large bike) with no hint of a please or thankyou.

Anyone who says "chill" as in "they are chilled", "cringe" instead of "cringeworthy", and "judgey" (it's "judgmental"). Also the trend to put question marks in a sentence where no effing question is being asked.

People who think drawer and draw are pronounced differently.

But they are.

People eating noisiest things on earth in a quiet office
crunching
smacking their lips together and licking their fingers 🤪😮

Drives me insane. Also licking fingers is so gross. May I add, eating with mouth open and talking with food in their mouth 🤑

When traffic is slow on a roundabout but people think it's ok to pull out from the left, leaving you stranded in the middle. Or lorries entering the Keep Clear areas so you can't get round them to get to the totally empty bit of road you want to get to in the other direction. Roundsbout rules just get ignored!

People who think drawer and draw are pronounced differently.

But they are pronounced differently.
“I’m going to draw a picture”
socks go in the drawer.

People sniffing repeatedly….just blow your nose 🤬

My mum when she doesn't wear her hearing aids.

God my mum is the same
it’s so frustrating

The phrase ‘reach out’ instead of ‘ask’.

Yes, I hate this kind of crap.

Wolfpinkola · 21/06/2025 23:41

the sight of my nosey neighbour continually policing our communal garden and car park like neighbourhood watch on crack. Just get back inside and fuck off

Fluffybagel · 21/06/2025 23:37

Oh and knowing the difference between a single “woman” or multiple “women”. I’m annoying myself now!

MycatLarry · 21/06/2025 23:34

People who say "Huh?" Instead of "what? Or "pardon? " They sound so gormless.

Ooh @SquashedSquid you're asking for trouble with that one 🫣

Fluffybagel · 21/06/2025 23:33

People that can’t spell the correct your or you’re and the same goes for their, there and they’re! Drives me slightly mad 😂😂 it seems everyone on social media has completely removed “you’re” from their vocabulary! Oh and saying they brought something from a shop, it’s bought!! 😂

Isittimeformynapyet · 21/06/2025 23:33

When loo roll holders require me to twist more than 45 degrees to access them.

Tormundsbeard · 21/06/2025 23:31

Misuse of You’re and Your.

I don’t know why but I find it really annoying and it happens all the time!

Nonbio46 · 21/06/2025 23:28

People who wear rucksacks while in shops making it difficult to get past them.

Cosycover · 21/06/2025 21:16

People who say macdonalds. It's mcdonalds. It's literally right there in the name. Mc

I had American friends who pronounced it MickDonalds, even after I helpfully pointed out that one of their most popular products was the Big Mac, not the Big Mick.

Greencactusgirl · 21/06/2025 23:24

People who lean their arms on the supermarket trolley to push it (unless they have a disability)

SquashedSquid · 21/06/2025 23:24

People blaming everything on "peri" on MN. Like, it's ok to have a big emotion that's not because of perimenopause! I know IABU but I feel like everyone blames peri for everything this year.

People who say “ like “….

soupforbrains · 21/06/2025 23:18

People who don’t read the full thread I understand if it’s a particularly long thread, but if there are 20 or fewer responses then there’s really no excuse.

I can't stand to feel people's breath on me. We were in a queue for the bar at a concert recently and my friend could sense I was about to lose my shit and sent me to wait to the side while he got the drinks.

Why WHY do they keep shuffling forward into MY personal space?! Like JUST WAIT!!!!!

Alwaysoneoddsock · 21/06/2025 20:58

Smaller cars that are parked right into a space. So you think there’s a space and there isn’t.

i know I’m petty 🤣

Edited

I totally agree! This really pisses me off, but I bet they get a bit of glee from doing it 😣

When my dh eats noodles, he slurps them. Ds is also awful for being a loud chewer.

When people walk slowly in front of me.

Repeating myself numerous times

I'm a slow walker due to a disability...
