Iran - full evacuation of Tehran?

Fitasafiddle1 · 17/06/2025 04:18

Genuinely finding it hard to sleep now having seen the news that Tehran - a population of 10 million are being urgently advised to leave. Is anyone else feeling very concerned (and nervous) watching what is now taking place in the ME? It is being reported that Israel have ‘full ariel control’ of Iran?

That won't destroy Hamas. It will just radicalise the Gazan survivors and increase the likelihood of terrorist attacks on Israel and the West.

So now you have a crystal ball ?

You'd better let MI5 know.

Of course. You can demonstrate how Israel have complied with international law at every stage of the invasion and subsequent attacks on surrounding countries. For example, protecting civilians, providing aid, excluding aid workers and journalists from attack, leaving essential infrastructure in place and complying with the Geneva Convention and international treaties as well as stipulations from the UN.

That will all be on record somewhere so you could look it up yourself. It will be in the Court documents.

It's not my responsibility to prove anything.

I have yet to see any evidence that the Irani government policy is calling for a wipe off of Jews from the face of earth.

Anyone calling for the elimination of a people should be dealt with by international bodies. and I stand behind that with all my heart.

What I absolutely can’t trust is that a war criminal is leading us into something that he wants us to believe in when he has just proven to the world exactly how callous and corrupt he and his regime is.

Not buying that.

They have a public clock that counts down to the destruction of Israel. 🙄

I actually didn’t realise how misinformed the general public is about the middle east until I came on mumsnet. Theres a bunch here who get their talking points from tiktok but seem to have zero general knowledge.

One of the Gaza convoy people published a map of where they were planning to go on facebook, it was completely wrong and if they had followed it they would have ended up in the exact opposite place. The Rafah crossing isn’t on the red sea and Egypt is a sovereign nation who actually build the bloody great big blockade they were apparently trying to break. It was funny but also shocking to me that people who would go this far didn’t know even the basics.

I asked a valid question. If Trump is protecting Putin as Zelensky said last night, should Europe not investigate why he is making sure Putin (aka Trump) continues his reign of terror in Ukraine?
Friend of your enemy and all that? What is wrong with my point?

Edited

So you believe Zelensky's propaganda ?

And who told us that? Netenyahu’s regime? Right, we definitely trust them wholeheartedly.

Why should any country reveal their defence capability to another?

Are you OK?

@Amplepombear " (by the way, I would quite like to see where Israeli regime is hiding their nukes; their landmass is so small that they are likely using their population as human shields. It is potentially another regional disaster in making if not investigated and controlled.)"

They aren't "hiding" them anywhere.
I understand they are at an airbase in the Negev Desert.
I suspect they also have a nuclear sub somewhere, but who knows?

Israel can’t enforce regime change, it can paralyse the current regime so Iranians themselves can enforce regime change.

Before boarding that particular outrage bus you might want to look at where other countries, including the UK,.store or have stored their nuclear weapons, or elements thereof.

It is a valid question. However, however much I dislike Keir Starmer, he is not a war criminal wanted by the ICC so I am not that worried for him.

@Amplepombear don’t bring proxies into it - Israel, US, UK, Iran, and all the rest of the world use proxies.

I don't know what you mean by "proxies"?

If you mean State Sponsored Terrorism then you are incorrect.

State-sponsored terrorism* *is terrorist violence carried out with the active support of national governments provided to violent non-state actors It contrasts with state terrorism, which is carried out directly by state actors.

The US State Department currently lists Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria as state sponsors of terrorism

I am sure we are about a step away from counting Trump as state-sponsored terrorist now that it has emerged he is protecting Putin against Ukraine.

This is why I said don’t bring proxies into it because it is very hard to assess them. In fact, USA and U.K. made the current regime of Iran a possibility via precisely that route. So I suggest we stay away from something we can’t see obviously and which everyone is using, including Israeli regime. There is undeniable and plenty of evidence for it, including within Iran.

But a unilateral attack on a sovereign nation? That is where the civilised world like Europe draws a line.

Antisemitic racism? I am constantly trying to make people separate Israeli regime from the Israeli people who I am sure, and I know!, are innocent in all this. It is Trump and his cronies backed by oligarchs that I am talking about. These people have no religion and no humanity either.
And for the millionth time: we have resolved ages ago on Mumsnet that being anti-Israeli regime is NOT antisemitism. Please stop bringing that out all the time. It is very unfair.

So those genocides are not important because the perpetrators don't have nukes ? Really ?

And what is an "unventilated nuke arsenal " ?

I am typing while walking so sorry for the typos!

Those genocides are as important as may others. Not saying they are not. However, I am rightly more worried about a regime that is committing genocide AND had nukes that they have never allowed anyone to investigate even. Can you not see why?

Can you list ONE nation that Iran has attacked so far. Can you list ONE neighbour that Israel has NOT attacked so far?

don’t bring proxies into it - Israel, US, UK, Iran, and all the rest of the world use proxies.

Iran and Israel are chalk and cheese. The former kills girls who do not conform to Islamic dress codes, the latter gives women full and equal human rights. The former will kill gays and anyone else that opposes it, the latter is a democracy.

Yes of course Israel will attack those that attack it. Several times over it's short history Israel's neighbours have tried to exterminate it, each time Israel has defended itself. Sadly it's attackers hide in hospitals, schools etc. Hamas's supporters even regurgitate Hamas' own statistics like 500 killed by Israel in a hospital... oh wait that was Hamas wasn't it!

The sooner Israel, Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and their useful idiots waving their flags on the streets of the UK are deposed the better life will be for everyone in the ME. Some people won't be happy until only the jews are exterminated though, right?

I think Israel has led one of the most visual and loud campaigns of terror in recent time so get the limelight. Also none of the others have an unventilated nuke arsenal and attacking other countries blatantly right while committing genocide and land grab in their own backyard.
Briefly, none of these countries others are at risk of starting WW3.

I read in the Matthew Syed article recently in the Times about this that Iran sent 20,000 children onto minefields to die in the Iran-Iraq war - have since done more research and corroborated this fact. They were convinced (brainwashed) into being 'religious martyrs'. Children cleared mines with their bodies, were told they'd go to heaven. He also says in this article that western commentators make the mistake of not recognising that the Iranian leadership is a death cult - they really don't care if their own people die. They wouldn't show restraint out of fear of repercussions if they were to use a nuclear weapon.

Syed says many of the Iranian population support Israel's actions because they understand this better than we do. It's an interesting article (in which he also criticises Israel, but for their actions in Gaza, not for attacking Iran).

Israel knows what we won’t accept: the mullahs want nuclear war

Right, now Iranians are begging Israel for a regime change. 🙄 Now I have heard it all.

Agree with PP - this could be a pivotal moment for Iran and the world if the people can replace him with someone that represents them and can take their country back to where it was in the 70s and into the future again.

That said, I wonder how many Israelis are behind their probably megalomaniac leader. He has absolutely screwed Gaza, innocent Gazans and the global reputation of Israel into the ground when he could’ve just sent a strong message and saved thousands of lives and kept his country safe.

So while I’d rather believe he’s going to send a strong message to Iran, I actually think he could in fact nuke the whole place. At what point will Israelis rise up and get the leader they deserve?

whilst we have our problems here Id much rather be navigating these troubled times with calm and measured Kier Starmer at the helm than one of these over inflated egomaniacs like we see in so many other countries right now.

The sooner the Iranian leadership is toppled the better. I know some Iranians and they are decent hard working people who hate the current regime.

The Iranian regime causes much of the ME issues and props up Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas and by extension all their useful idiots we see protesting on UK streets every weekend for the Gazans. All of them anti semitic and want jews exterminated "from the river to the sea" as they merrily chant in towns across the UK. The sooner they are brought down the whole rotten lot will collapse and the decent Iranians, Lebanese and Palestinians can take back control again.

After Iran, most of the ME issues are then probably the result of Labour's dodgy dossier and their determination to take the UK into a war killing 500,000 the results of which are still being felt today... yet people still vote Labour despite this record. Unbelievable.
