Iran - full evacuation of Tehran?

Fitasafiddle1 · 17/06/2025 04:18

Genuinely finding it hard to sleep now having seen the news that Tehran - a population of 10 million are being urgently advised to leave. Is anyone else feeling very concerned (and nervous) watching what is now taking place in the ME? It is being reported that Israel have ‘full ariel control’ of Iran?

Iranian women were very much involved in anti regime protests, they have been whipped, murdered, many have lost eyes or been disfigured. The idea that women aren’t engaged here is for the birds. Brave teenage girls have taken their scarves off and danced and sang in public, numerous girls have been killed for it,

It’s why the anti regime slogan is “woman, life, freedom”. Most Iranian women and girls would be pretty satisfied with the regime falling I would imagine. They weren’t sitting at home they were in the streets.

I was in Iran for six months last year, work related. I travelled extensively. I’d estimate around 30% of women in Tehran never wore any form of head cover, jeans and t-shirts mainly
There were a lot of young couples being openly affectionate in public as well. It’s not the authoritarian nightmare you might imagine, it’s certainly not Afghanistan. There were thousands women out protesting recently demanding the government hit Israel harder in retaliation.

I become more fearful every time I watch the news.

I know the arguments but I'm so sick of it now. Arrogant men on all sides in a pissing contest sending us to the brink of nuclear war whilst innocent women and children suffer.

I hate it. Just stop ffs.

Your argument was that Israel was destabilising the middle east, it’s not. Some countries are destabilising the middle east to intimidate Israel. It’s this weird inversion you see a lot these days. Be the actual aggressor and then claim some sort of victimhood.

The west via its proxies, have overthrown governments in Libya and Syria, the west has instigated coups in Iran which resulted in the Installation of the puppet shah of Iran and the torture and murder of tens of thousands of people
The west has directly invaded Iraq on false pretences of weapons of mass destruction resulting in the deaths of over a million people and 200,000 children.
What has Iran done which is comparable to all of this?

The civil war went on for 13 years, there are people looking to settle scores and thats shit. If you are arguing that Assad was better and should have been left in place then I will have to disagree. Plus that was not regime change, one guy finally won that war. That is extremely painful for a country.

I predict the opposite, there will be sectarian tension, primarily from muslims towards minorities (which is what we are seeing) but the security situation will settle down and it will slowly inch towards economic progress. Hell some dumbass burned down a Christmas tree in Damascus and Jolani got a new one and ordered his men to guard it. That there is progress, an ex al-qaeda guy buying a xmas tree and getting a bunch of ex-jihadis to look after it. Would an ex-alqaeda member be my first choice, no but he’s what they have and from what I can see there is an actual effort to make syria better than what it was.

Libya is a very different population from Iran, generally highly educated, pretty middle class, increasingly secular (theres been a drop in attendence at mosques with some closing) Libiya has always been pretty lawless. Syria is not Libya is not Iran. They are different population with different histories.

Jolani is a fully paid up ISIS western puppet, funded, trained and supplied by Israel and the west. There are plenty of videos of him chopping off people’s heads. He’s funded and equipped by Israel and the west to destabilise Syria and overthrow the Assad government.
He’s done that very well!

Yes and Israel funds Hamas and along with the US and the UK and others funds ISIS and others which it has used, very effectively, for regime change in Libya and Syria.
The US, UK and others conspired to overthrow Irans democratically elected government in the 1960’s.
There’s 3 countries the west has overthrown resulting in millions of deaths. How many has Iran overthrown?

Yes I’m making a comparison, Libya was also going to be a much better place once Gaddafi was gone.
There’s absolutely no evidence that Syria is getting better. There’s been a huge number of mass killings of the Alawite population, the likelihood is Syria will slide into years of sectarian violence and poverty.

I would like to hear from the Syrians who have en masse chosen to be refugees and are trying to reach or have already reached the U.K. Also, it is far too early to draw any conclusions. See for example Afghanistan.

They were refugees from Assad (you know the guy that was killing them with Irans help) , many have settled elsewhere, they can go back if they want.

It’s under the Rambam medical centre. It’s not a secret

User37482 · 17/06/2025 22:30

I had to post this elsewhere but here goes, I’m actually going to write this somewhere to copy it out over and over

Iran funds Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, some iraqi militas etc (and assad at the time) to the tune of 1-3 billion dollars a year

Hamas - we all know what they do with their cash
Hezbollah - basically took over the Lebanese state like a zombie parasite, lots of assassinations , keeps lobbing bombs at Israel but finally because they have been eroded have been told to sit down and shut up by the actual government (who by the way are also emptying the Palestinian camps of their weapons)
houthis- thanks to the Iranians they now also have slaves about 150’000 dead yeminis and child soldiers
Assad - used Hezbollah and sent actual IRCG to help kill 300’000 civilians and about 300’000 combatants (no-ones really sure but thats best estimate).

Iran is responsible for way more arab deaths than Israel. Most of this effort is because Israel exists. Everywhere it has touched it has killed democratic institutions. Iran is extremely destabilising. No most of it’s neighbours are not perfect but literally no other country in the region has made as much a mess of the Middle east than Iran.

The west is responsible over the course of history for much of what we see today to be frank but Israel really isn’t destabilising anyone who doesn’t attack it. It’s kept a steady peace with Jordan and Egypt precisely because they don’t allow attacks to be launched on Israel from their territories and when it has occasionally happened it has been quite easy to see that it was not with the endorsement of either government.

Yes and Israel funds Hamas and along with the US and the UK and others funds ISIS and others which it has used, very effectively, for regime change in Libya and Syria.

Are you saying Netenyahu’s regime is safer than the dozens and dozens of Islamic countries where people are living a peaceful life without the aggressions and genocide that his regime has committed? Is that what you are saying?

Edited

No, where have I said anything about safety.

Everything is relevant but how much of it is actually truly meaningful?

Is U.K. also anti-Jewish then or do they hate the actions of these Israeli regime members due to what they have been doing, likely using their religion to manipulate their people also?
I will reply tomorrow now. Good night.

I don't believe that the UK government has the slogan 'death to Israel, a curse upon Jews', do they?

Like, the Houthis are literally spelling it out for you and you're still trying to pretend that it's nothing to do with it.

Amplepombear · 18/06/2025 00:20

noblegiraffe · 18/06/2025 00:15

So the fact that it's a Jewish state might actually have some relevance?

We can play this game all night. I can bring out plenty of anti-Muslim posts from Israeli regime’s pillars and you can bring out many anti-Jewish posts.

But what do you think about the rest of what I have typed here. This is a very nuanced situation and serving only the oligarchs who are getting richer by the minute.

The rest of us are paying for this and want it all to stop and negotiations started. I hate the mullahs, and hate the Israeli regime too.

There are plenty of Muslim and most other countries such as Pakistan who hate Israeli regime based on its resemblance to apartheid and not because it is a Jewish state.
Iran is a unique case due to its oil wealth which USA annd its allies have always wanted and they have been at the receiving end of regime changes via USA (and U.K. in the past) who also support Israel in the region. Also, Israeli regime’s refusal to event accept a two state solution is a key issue in increasing this suspicion of their future plans and they have waged plenty of proxy wars especially even after and despite Iran signing NPT.
I now believe Iran has always been on the hit list and it’s been a two way proxy war. Israel never extended a rose branch and Iranians are highly suspicious of anyone associated so closely with the USA that destroyed their country twice in the last 80 years.
Israel even attempted to bomb Pakistan at one time via India and were only stopped by India who got worried Pakistan had a far more advanced nuke programme than letting on.
i think you are truly mixing up Israeli regime’s expansionist and militant agenda with their religion. They have been USA’s gangster in the area long enough. Yes there is plenty of bigotry to go around but the modern world sees BiBi for what he is and who he stands with. Just today, two of his far right and militant Jewish ministers have been sanctioned by the U.K. government and rightly so too. Is U.K. government also anti-Jew then or is it that the world sees the expansionism and hates them for it regardless of their religion?

This is fascinating.

This is a thread about Iran, and the attacks on Iran by Israel and vice versa.

But you are absolutely refusing to engage with the idea that Israel being a Jewish state has anything to do with the situation. Or that anyone would like to actually annihilate Israel.

Because it doesn't fit with your worldview?

When will stupid men in power realise that bombing the shit out of the people they feel.threatened by, is not the answer to their security worries.

Does israel really think that their actions in Gaza and Iran will bring them long term security? It's utterly mad. The amount of festering hatred towards Israel (and the west, esp. America) will grow.exponentially.

The orphans of Gaza will never forget. They will not forget seeing their parents blown to bits, their homes destroyed. Iran will not forget this recent action and what is likely to come next.

If Israel thinks this is the answer to their safety and security concerns then Netenyahu is even crazier than I already believed.

So israel.says - We are going to obliterate you, bomb the shit out of you, tell.you what weapons you can and cannot have (while having those very same weapons.ourselves), then we will.expect.you to love us and always be kind to us and never hurt us. Eh??? Crazy.

Want another 7/10? Another 9/11? Something far worse that either?? These are sure fire ways to achieve such future incidents. And they may come sooner than Israel.and the USA think.

Madness.

Edited

Sorry, so Israel should just let the palestinians rape and murder their citizens, else they'll deserve a 9/11? Fuck me, there's a reason I can't spend long on these boards. I know I'm not supposed to accuse people of being bots but I have to believe the sickos spouting horrific shit like this don't really exist. The thought of them walking amongst us absolutely terrifies me.
