I’m really hung over and the last thing I need to hear is this little twat blowing a whistle which they can’t even blow properly.

AIBU to shout out the window to stfu ?

It's unacceptable to blow the whistle under these circumstances, and it's also unacceptable for you to use misogynistic language.

Twat can be male or female.

HAHAH! He has ASD and childhood apraxia of speech, but still has boundaries and has to respect other people!

I've tried to teach him that yes he does have different needs but the world won't change specifically for this, so he has to learn to manage the feelings in public then in his safe space can let it all out. It's sad that the world will never fully be able to accommodate him but I have to give him the tools to do it himself and self regulate!

All joking aside well done , it’s tough but you are doing what is right for everyone

Or water plants with a hose pipe, ‘accidentally’ squirting them. 🤣 (joking)

My daughter was given a whistle for Christmas one year and within a couple hours I’d snapped it in half and thrown it in the bin, cursing the person who bought it for her. Zero regrets. Whistles are obnoxious and anti social.

pictoosh · 14/06/2025 11:23

Just ask the little twat to can it.
"You've had fun with that but can you stop now? Thank you."

Exactly how we raised ours

It's the only way! I teach them that they're my world, but no one else wants to hear them being assholes 🤣🤣 can be harder with my eldest as he has ASD so has meltdowns, but I do bring him inside and explain to him that isn't something he can do in the garden but he can calm himself down in the house.

Is the little twat a child or an adult?

I presume OP doesn’t mean a short adult.

MadinMarch · 14/06/2025 10:01

@Latenightreader Cats can blow whistles?

I wouldn't put anything past them... they can make a high pitched wail which could sound like a whistle maybe?

Hahaha! West midlands 😂 If my kids are fighting outside (during the day) I bring them back in and tell them the neighbours do NOT want to hear that 🤣. I always teach them to be mindful of others, even on buses if they touch the seat in front im like nope get away!

Give the kid 8 cans of Stella and buy your own whistle for tomorrow morning.

Some lessons are best learned the hard way.

Where do you live?

I want a neighbour like this 😀

Needmorelego · 14/06/2025 10:38

Do you know the kids name?
Just yell out the window "Bob can you stop with the whistle please - I've got a splitting headache. Thanks."

Same lol whenever my kids have whistles they mysteriously disappear. I don't let my kids in the garden at weekends/half term until after 9:30am. My neighbours all have older teens and I know they do not want to be woken up by a 6&7 year old!

I'd like to move next door to you!
If only we could all have considerate neighbours like you, I like an occasional lie in at weekends but the neighbours usually make sure it doesn't happen!

cryptide · 14/06/2025 10:30

Can't you just move to the other side of the house?

8am on a Saturday morning is absolutely unreasonable I’d never let my child stand in the garden blowing a whistle at 8am 😬

Although to be fair I wouldn’t let them do it at any time. I don’t want to listen to that any more than the neighbours do.

Theunamedcat · 14/06/2025 10:06

Can you not play that annoying noise that works on teenagers to get them to fuck off?

My neighbour across the road was washing his car at 7.30 this morning noisy cheap bloody jet wash scared my cat and he landed on me completely freaked out I then couldn't breathe and woke up freaked out he then sensed this and began pulling at me desperately trying to boop me in the dam face to comfort me (not ideal when you can't breathe) anyways I'm up now

Tagyoureit · 14/06/2025 10:05

I would definitely shout out the window telling him to shut up!!

Who the hell gives their kid a whistle at any time of day?? Bastards!
