I’m really hung over and the last thing I need to hear is this little twat blowing a whistle which they can’t even blow properly.

AIBU to shout out the window to stfu ?

I want you as my neighbour even more!

I hope my neighbours do appreciate it! 🤣 I try so hard to make my kids be mindful it's a struggle sometimes but I make sure they hear me say 'right time to come in the neighbours do NOT want to hear this!!'😂😂

Francestein · 14/06/2025 15:14

Stick your head over the fence and ask to have a look at the whistle. Take the whistle
and wait for the parent to come and get it. When they do explain that their kid blasting a whistle for hours in the garden is unfuckingacceptable.

Time wait until the little darling’s bedtime and get outside with drum and bass, heavy metal, blaring opera and/or bagpipe music.

Annoyeddd · 14/06/2025 15:04

If you are old enough put on the mosquito teen repellent at top volume.

Should you shout that? Depends if he's bigger than you or not. If he is, find another way of communicating😀

Hahaha! West midlands 😂 If my kids are fighting outside (during the day) I bring them back in and tell them the neighbours do NOT want to hear that 🤣. I always teach them to be mindful of others, even on buses if they touch the seat in front im like nope get away!

Where do you live?

I want a neighbour like this 😀

Me too!

Septembiosis · 14/06/2025 14:19

Being hung over is kind of your own fault, unless someone was forcing alcohol down your throat last night. Not unreasonable to be annoyed by annoying sounds, though. You could ask the child or his/her parent if they could take a break from the whistle or you could take yourself off somewhere else for a while. Or put on some soft music with earbuds or similar to dull the sound.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 14/06/2025 13:24

I feel your pain. I'm hungover too today. Can't imaging adding a whistle 😅

OffOnOurHols · 14/06/2025 13:16

It depends how you got hung over in the first place. If you had people round and had music blaring out of your open window at 2am, I would be giving my children whistles to blow at 7am too.

Balloonhearts · 14/06/2025 13:01

Revenge is best served cold. Wait till tonight. Buy a horn and a ghost facemask. Under cover of darkness creep to his bedroom window while he's asleep. Tape the mask to his window. Blow the horn as loud as you can and as long as you can. Enjoy the screaming and the knowledge that his parents will have him sleeping in with them until he is 16.

SortthisoutpleaseJesus · 14/06/2025 12:42

Having worked 3 night shifts this week I would be ramming that whistle where the sun doesn’t shine if the selfish imbecile was doing that on my day off

What on earth? Who’s the twat now OP? Yeah parents of kids with a diagnosis are all shit parents? I was sympathetic to you up until now but not any more.

Cherrysoup · 14/06/2025 11:52

Another who can’t understand why the parents tolerate it. We once went round to the neighbour to ask that they please god stop their youngster (7/8?) screaming in the garden literally ALL day. Apparently she did it indoors too. I couldn’t understand how they just ignored her. She’s now an adult, seems perfectly lovely. Kids playing makes me smile, endless screaming is a bit much.

mangonut · 14/06/2025 11:52

I can see from your other racist thread that you have already started drinking, despite you being hungover. Should be no problem for you to tell that kid to shut up,

EmeraldShamrock000 · 14/06/2025 11:51

Yanbu. I love my headphones. I can only just hear my own children.

PeriJane · 14/06/2025 11:51

misogynyisbigotry · 14/06/2025 08:54

It's unacceptable to blow the whistle under these circumstances, and it's also unacceptable for you to use misogynistic language.

Is ‘bellend’ ok?

Taytayslayslay · 14/06/2025 11:49

ThePunnyPeachDuck · 14/06/2025 11:30

All joking aside well done , it’s tough but you are doing what is right for everyone

Thank you it's so nice to hear that! Good luck with your neighbours 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Obviously because you’d need to have your windows open?

Yes that’s been pointed out quite a few times 😁, and I acknowledged that I hadn’t even thought of that. I live somewhere that most people have aircon so we rarely open windows in the summer, too hot!

mangonut · 14/06/2025 11:42

Do the same at bed time.

Call him a little fat c*nt 🤔😀. It apparently works a treat 😂😂 (IYKYK) 😉

Oops, snap! Only I posted later.

What does the temperature have to do with it? It would be an annoying thing to do even if it was snowing.

Obviously because you’d need to have your windows open?

How old is the little twat? Calculate what time they may feasibly go to bed and then blow your own whistle for an hour at that tine from your garden.

The advice on here when neighbours are noisy the night before due to even just chatter outside on a warm evening is to unleash noisy kids the next morning. So if it isn't payback then you must be allowed your payback this evening surely.
