Called Unsociable 10 year old a fat c*nt

Ok, am I the worst person ever??
Last week I was at marks and spencers and there was this boy there, about 11 who was riding around on a electric scooter, whizzing past people and behaving in a passive aggressive way. When I past him he loudly made throwing up noises several times right in front of me, to scare/shock me and I said oh are you ok, maybe you need a doctor (because I don't like to be initimdated by youths). Anyway I do the shop and keep thinking about him, I was in a bad mood already and he really annoyed me, I'm fed up of little shits thinking they can terrorise people.
Anyway I saw him again on the way out and again he was whizzing past scaring people. He came past me again and then I said it.....I said 'fat cnt'!!! Now I actually do not use that word, I don't like it, I don't like it when it's used around me either but I was so pissed off that that's what I said!!!! Anyway he circled round and was like what did you say....I ignored him and he started insulting me and following me as I walked to my car, saying is this your car you fucking bitch, cnt, etc etc. I walked away saying I'm calling the police! Then this guy comes over who's his dad! He apologies and says he's trying to get him home (the kid had been in the car park for half an hour at least, maybe longer), the kid tells the dad what I called him and the dad says 'no she didn't' then the kid goes off at the dad for taking a strangers side. The dad is completely useless as the kid is still circling me where I actually have to push him away from me! Eventually he leaves after a lot of verbal abuse, from the kid. Now I'm thinking I shouldn't have done it and feeling guilty and also worried that I can't go back to M&S because he might be there and start abusing me and I have 2 young children. Thoughts? I am going to hell?

Good for you op. Not sure why you posted as you would know you’d get flamed but he’s a little shit and his parents shouldn’t be letting him run riot in shops abusing the public. . He’ll be called far worse .

anotherside · 13/06/2025 06:37

Meh. You lost your temper. Not the best choice of language, but the country sure
needs more adults standing up to antisocial youths rather than backing away intimidated. Maybe he’ll think twice before trying to intimidate strangers in future.

nomas · 13/06/2025 06:32

wobblyewobbly · 12/06/2025 23:13

Would I have beaten her up?

I didn’t say that. But I sure as fuck would’ve made sure by the time she left the shop she wouldn’t dream of calling a child a cunt again.

Also this isn’t even the worst thing this woman did, she then cowardly hid behind when the child told his father and his father didn’t believe him! Now wether this kid is annoying or has behaviour issues around a shop, he’s now gone home knowing he’s been called a fat cunt and his own father didn’t believe a random woman in a shop called him such a vile thing.

she’s also now shown a child it’s okay to go around body shaming random strangers and calling them what I genuinely believe to be the most filthy vulgar word.

Honestly the people congratulating the OP for saying or it saying “ good the dad didn’t believe him “ actually really worries me.

Pity you don’t put this passionate intensity to good use and raise your children not to intimidate women and make throwing up noises around them.

Because this little shit wasn’t targeting men.

I get why people are saying ‘good for you’ because so often no-one says anything to kids behaving in an antisocial way. However, what has the OP achieved? Kids don’t behave better because strangers insult them. I’m sure the OP is not the devil and I think everyone has lost their temper at times but let’s not overstate this; blurting out an unpleasant insult at a child is not exactly a act of righteous protest.

I’d be pretty ashamed of myself I was you OP but it’s not the end of the world.

I can honestly say I would not lose one wink of sleep over it. Well done OP

Nodancingshoes · 13/06/2025 06:28

Lol OP - not your finest moment but I'd just let it go and put it down to experience 🤣

Figcherry · 13/06/2025 06:22

Not a word I’ve ever used tbf but in this case I don’t think modelling good behaviour would have made any difference to the horrible dc.
I wouldn’t ruminate on it op, and go to M&S, don’t let a nasty dc put you off.

I called some brats ‘feral little bastards’ on a different thread. Is that worse or better? I don’t know. Cunt gets people all twisted out of shape. I’m finding this thread amusing too though. It makes me laugh that you let his dad think he was a fibber, naughty OP.

Fat cunt is a fair bit worse than feral little bastards in my humble opinion.

Clarabell77 · 13/06/2025 06:13

Don’t beat yourself up. I don’t know if he was fat but he certainly sounds like a cunt.

Love that his dad didn’t believe him 😂

Cheesehound · 13/06/2025 06:11

RifeHere · 12/06/2025 22:55

I can’t lie to you OP, If you called my kid a fat cunt, you wouldn’t have to worry about going to marks and Spencer’s again.

what does this mean? What would you have done? I always wonder what people mean when they like this kind of stuff.

This made me laugh - it’s up there with ‘I hope you like hospital food’. Oooooooh! The most middle class threat ever. Well ‘ard!

On a serious note though - YABU. You shouldn’t have said it.

Sobblimminwindy · 13/06/2025 06:10

Good for you. So many are feral these days and people are becoming terrified of them, and for good reason. According to any press outlets the amount of youths carrying weapons is out of control, and society is doomed in my opinion. Obviously he must be ND, or have some sort of traumatic background. Or perhaps the most simple answer is the right one. He was a c**t. Don't know about the fat bit though!

GuevarasBeret · 13/06/2025 06:10

Herefortea2 · 12/06/2025 23:17

Thanks for everyone's responses. Some did make me laugh to be honest!

It's confirmed what I already knew by posting to get opinions, I was in the wrong and I shouldn't have done it. Two wrongs don't make a right and that's that! To clear up a couple of things, he wasn't actually fat! Also he was using all the insults known (a good 5 minutes worth none stop), he was going to kill me, lesbian (not an insult but heyho), quite scary, the same sort of language to his dad when he came over too. Obviously I 'started' it so it's besides the point but just to add a bit more context to it.

Appreciate the feedback, definitely food for thought re my behaviour and will absolutely take it on board. I need to do some good deeds.

Actually, he totally deserved it.

He had thought acting the cunt on the scooter was OK. It was an arrogant display of power and what was anyone going to do about it. He needed to be brought down to size rapidly (pun not really intended).

Maybe I would have used Puffed Up Little Shit, rather than Fat Cunt, but either way both him and his useless Dad would know my opinion by the end of the conversation.

This has made
my night, hilarious, the kid was a cunt so that’s justified but as per pp if he wasn’t actually fat you should have just called him a cunt and left it that.

So glad to see I’m not the only one tht found this hilarious

yeah we had some causing issues for local independent shop owners. I live in a nice area with lots of wealthy people. The kids were in designer gear being dropped off by parents in expensive cars or riding on expensive bikes.

They were just trying it on and trying to act up. Parents didn’t seem bothered until it came up on social media because the shop owners were at the end of their tether.

Not all kids that act up are abused, from bad homes, etc. I’ve worked with kids my whole 30 year career and behaviour and entitlement has gotten worse and worse. Parenting styles and technology/internet also play a part.

It good to hear this perspective. I get tired of excuses for entitlement.

Clarabell77 · 13/06/2025 06:00

wobblyewobbly · 12/06/2025 23:00

To put it shortly - it basically means going to that same shop wouldn't even cross someone’s mind again if I found out they’d called my child what this grown woman did.

I’d be more embarrassed at my child’s behaviour. It’s parents like you who create these obnoxious little shits.

Bigfatsunandclouds · 12/06/2025 23:10

I think this is a bit much!! Some kids are just little shits, no brain damage, no hard life just entitled little shits.

Am I the only one who thinks this didn't happen 🤔

Purpose being a phishing exercise to flush out the meanies?

Newtorunning · 13/06/2025 05:49

I'm afraid I'm glad you called them this. I know exactly the kind of kid you're talking about and they get off on bullying and harassing.

You gave him a taste of his own medicine so YANBU.

SatsumaDog · 13/06/2025 05:46

tuvamoodyson · 13/06/2025 05:42

Why? Why wouldn’t they go to that shop again? What would happen if they did? How would you stop them?

At a guess i think it means that she would physically attack op so badly that she wouldn’t be able to return? That’s what I read into it anyway.

SatsumaDog · 13/06/2025 05:45

Clearly you lost your shit with the kid op, otherwise you wouldn’t have said what you did. Given his behaviour and reaction, I doubt he was mortally wounded by it. Maybe he’ll think about his behaviour in the future, although I doubt it.

I know lol, it seems its OK to call a child a cunt but not fat. it's seems the word fat has become the most offensive insult there is these days.
Tbh I hate kids like that and probably would have called him an equally awful name but only In my head and not out loud.

Neemie · 13/06/2025 05:31

That is what everyone would have been thinking about him (not necessarily those exact words).

He was deliberately winding you up though and you gave him the satisfaction of losing control. He won’t have been genuinely upset by the comment. He probably enjoyed your reaction. After all, a reaction was what he was looking for.

redrocke · 13/06/2025 05:29

So many comments slating the OP’s behaviour but the voting is almost 50/50.

Interesting.
