I got married yesterday and I can't stop crying.

DH has cancer. (Diagnosed Jan 2024)
We were supposed to get married - at simple 2+2 ceremony at the end of the month but his Dr's etc encouraged us to bring the date forwards, so we got married yesterday in the hospital where my DH is being cared for.
I'm a week post major abdominal surgery.
We have 2 primary aged DC
It's our youngest DCs birthday this month.

I don't know what I want from this post but I can't stop crying.
I don't think that I know how break it to the DC that Daddy isn't going to get better and come home.
My head is swimming & I don't know what to do.

It was DH's funeral today.
I drank too much.
I've been sick.
My parents have taken DC for dinner.
I still feel sick.
I hate this.

Sending love and thoughts.
It’s very early days and you will get through this awful time, go easy on yourself.
Take any help on offer, eat well, try to rest when you can.
Consider grief counselling and anything else you think will help.

I'm not surprised you ended up drinking too much. Give yourself grace, it's been a massively tough time for you and your family.

@MoreThanOverwhelmed I’m so sorry and sending you lots of love. Just rest now and all the practical stuff, lots of water for this evening and let your parents take care of the children and you just rest. It’s a tough, tough day that I wish you didn’t have to face xx

@MoreThanOverwhelmed you sound like such a strong person and I am so sorry you are going through this. I know thisnisna terrible time but congratulations on your marriage and I hope in the coming months and years it brings you some comfort to know you were together ❤️ There are normally teams within the hospital that help or the hospitsl chaplain. It would be well worth an ask I think. Hugs to you OP.

Absolutely crappy time for you all and no words will make it feel any better. Thinking of you and all your family. Please keep accepting support and help especially since you had a hysterectomy not long ago and are still in the recovery period. Just get through a day at a time or hour when necessary xx
