I’ve just seen a lad have a lemsip straight out the sachet without mixing it with anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s ill. Google says it can make you ill. He just said I’ve got a cold and took it straight out the sachet without mixing.🤢🤮

Said to him shouldn’t you have a drink after that. He had a coke.

DH takes lemsip that way.

I crunch paracetamol before washing it down with a mouthful of water.

coxesorangepippin · 06/06/2025 20:57

I saw a homeless guy once eating a raw pork chop, so an undiluted lemsip isn't that concerning

I don't think that's the right thing to do? They're designed to be swallowed whole.

Well I wouldn't do it but I don't tell him what to do.🤷‍♀️

Delicious!

My husband crunches up paracetamol tablets. I couldn't do that.

If you have 2 effervescent vitamin c tablets straight from the tube you can get some really good frothing at the mouth and play zombies with your kids. Or so I’ve been told…😁

bring back the laughing emoji

cinnamongirl123 · 06/06/2025 17:31

Why would it harm him? I’m sure he’s fine! He’s be better off with the lemsip tablets next time though

If I remember rightly there is a Lemsip that you can take straight from the packet!

Some years back was there not a TV ad that showed it being taken that way - suppose it was aimed at those on the way to work. Or did I just imagine that?

There was a proper Lemsip product that you just took out of the packet a good few years ago - it was pretty hardcore! I don't think you can get it anymore.

I do love to sniff the lemony vapours of a lemsip 😍 - bring on winter!

Really? I always think it smells like flash floor cleaner...

Who doesn’t love completely rawdogging a lemsip sachet?

Unpaidviewer · 06/06/2025 17:16

I dont like lemsip but we had some in the medicine cupboard. I just swallowed it straight out of the pack when I was ill and had nothing else to take.

Aside from tasting vile, I can't imagine that it would make him unwell?

Fingerpie · 06/06/2025 17:02

He sounds desperate
and didn’t have a drink to hand

This. He must have felt really unwell to do that.

theclampits · 06/06/2025 17:09

Isn’t it called toss and wash ? People do it with all sorts of drugs op!

A district nurse once told us that it's not uncommon for some elderly men to take soluble paracetamol without water. (Not mistaking it for the regular kind - they let it fizz in their mouth.)

My uncle an elderly man used to do this with beechams powders knock them straight over! He's 90 so it's not done much harm but still it must be so dry and powdery !

Needmorelego · 06/06/2025 17:08

fruitbrewhaha · 06/06/2025 17:05

Like sherbert? Perhaps with a dippy lolly?

That was exactly my thought 😂
I'd prefer it that way - I don't like the hot drink style.
They could market this.
Call it Lemdab
(Lemsip + Dip Dab)

Who is this lad to you?

Not related he’s 1 of my son’s carers.

i don’t see how it can make you unwell. The ingredients won’t change if it’s dissolved in water.
