Watching Lilo & Stitch..is this odd?

Here with Dd, only one other family here…and this guy, munching on snacks..watching Lilo & Stitch

Is it just me 😂

In reality, of course it's bloody odd. I'd be curious if I saw a grown man sitting watching a cartoon alone in a cinema.

Cartoon? You don’t sound like you know much about the movie? Still got an opinion though!

Whiskyfromsmallglasses · 02/06/2025 15:47

People like you are the reason I haven't plucked up the courage yet to go to the cinema on my own. Seperated from my husband of 23 years and finding my way on my own is tough. There is loads I want to try on my own but don't due to fear of judgement

You’re so small minded! Not everybody alive is the same as you, you know.

Theres small minded and there is being stuck up.

GasPanic · 02/06/2025 15:46

You never actually know why he was watching it.

Maybe he had a free ticket to use up.
Maybe he works in childcare and wants to understand what the kids like.
Maybe he was reviewing it for a dissertation on psychology or a magazine.
Maybe he was employed by the cinema as covert security.
Or maybe one of a hundred other things.

Or horror of horrors. Maybe he actually likes it.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 02/06/2025 15:45

He is almost certainly a MI6 agent testing his newly issued night vision googles prior to an overseas assignment.

You see this a lot in the Vauxhall area of London.

Allaboutmememe · 02/06/2025 15:45

Its ok for single women and dads but not single men some on this thread need to get there heads out there backsides and stop being so stuck up.
Maybe we should have single men only screenings that would give you all something else to bitch over.

Good grief. Yeah, yeah reasons, reasons🙄

In reality, of course it's bloody odd. I'd be curious if I saw a grown man sitting watching a cartoon alone in a cinema.

I must say though, the replies so far are amusing. Absolutely wild how people are just desperate to display how accepting and unflappable they are 😂

HunnyPot · 02/06/2025 15:44

Why so judgy? People don’t have to follow your template of what is appropriate.

Even heard of a Disney Adult? Sounds like he wanted to enjoy a movie on his own.

You were there with your children. Did you find time to parent your own children or were you too caught up being judgemental?

Timetoeat · 02/06/2025 15:44

Would you have.asied the same question if it had been a woman sitting in the cinema by herself watching Lilo and stitch?

Dontlletmedownbruce · 02/06/2025 15:43

It's funny because when my parents were younger there were so many things that were unacceptable for a woman to do. Pretty much anything a woman did alone was frowned upon. Many people living here from other cultures still hold these views. For the most part we think they are unfair and sexist and we loudly object to those imposing these social rules. Yet it seems we have come full circle. Almost anything a man does alone now is seen as unacceptable by some. The stronger women's voices become the more sexism I see, it's sad because I used to think that sexism was a mans problem but I now believe that it cuts both ways and will become just as damaging if it continues to increase momentum

MerlinsBeard1 · 02/06/2025 15:43

You wouldn't be writing this post if it was a woman on her own. Are men not allowed to like Disney?

I think you are weirder for feeling the need to write a thread about it.

HaddyAbrams · 02/06/2025 15:42

JeremiahBullfrog · 02/06/2025 15:39

I can almost guarantee the 20-year-olds you meet do not feel the same way.

What? Well no. Because I'm twice their age. The 60 year olds i know consider me to be young though. So what's the relevance?

TaupeRaven · 02/06/2025 15:41

GoodOldTrayBake · 02/06/2025 15:24

Yeh. It’s weird. Ignore the holier than thou bunch. They are the reason why the trans lobby were able to exert so much power and influence, because liberal people were falling over themselves to prove how accepting they are that they couldn’t bring themselves to call out weird behaviour. And by the way, I’m a liberal. I’m one of the so called metropolitan middle class elite. Only difference is I’m happy to call a spade a spade. A man dressed as a woman is still a biological man. A single man alone watching a kids film is weird.

So for your reply to have any relevance to this thread, are you saying someone should have "called out this weird behaviour"? Exactly what should someone say, to call out this shocking and abhorrent behaviour that involved someone doing absolutely nothing wrong, in a place that they shouldn't be excluded from either by law or common sense? How would you have approached this?

punnedout · 02/06/2025 15:41

Is he naked? If not, absolutely fine

godmum56 · 02/06/2025 15:41

its you. next question

JeremiahBullfrog · 02/06/2025 15:39

HaddyAbrams · 02/06/2025 15:36

Whilst yes. That's technically correct. Everyone I know, Google, consider middle aged to be 40-60.
I certainly barely class myself as middle age at 40. I still feel young!

I can almost guarantee the 20-year-olds you meet do not feel the same way.

JeremiahBullfrog · 02/06/2025 15:37

Maybe he was in town for two hours with nothing to do and the cinema was the best option available? That's the main reason I watch films nowadays.

Why would a child predator go looking for them in the cinema anyway? It's dark, so you can't see them, and they're constantly about three inches from their parents. It's a sunny day, wouldn't you be better off going to the park?

TaupeRaven · 02/06/2025 15:37

AzureShark · 02/06/2025 14:27

Not following your logic here - I didn't mention rule breaking.

Something can be odd as hell without breaking any rules or laws.

When an individuals behaviour appears unusual, it will usually make you more guarded, for obvious reasons.

What are the "obvious reasons"? I'm not seeing any

Penthrowingsurvivor · 02/06/2025 15:37

You could make an entire movie with all the perfectly valid reasons a MAN could be watching that movie on his own,

Shame you could make even more with all the twisted reasons some posters find. It must be exhausting and so toxic to be so obsessively negative about non-events because a MAN is involved.

HaddyAbrams · 02/06/2025 15:36

housethatbuiltme · 02/06/2025 15:30

Virtually no one lives to 120, thats world record level and well past standard 'middle age'.

Middle age is 35 - 45 (expected life span of between 70 - 90 years).

Whilst yes. That's technically correct. Everyone I know, Google, consider middle aged to be 40-60.

QuickScroller · 02/06/2025 15:36

My Mum often goes to the cinema on her own.. she enjoys time away from her hectic social life. She went to see Lilo & Stitch alone. Would you not judge her because she’s female?

Mumof2wifeof1crazytimes · 02/06/2025 15:36

Littlebluecreature · 02/06/2025 14:14

Ok wasn’t trying to be awful at all, wasn’t judging him, feel bad now.
I love going to the cinema on my own, it was just the kids thing, that’s all

Of course you are judging him and you also decided to post it on the internet to drum up agreement on your judgement.

The man in the cinema wasn't dressed as a woman. Nor was he in a single sex space designated for women.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 02/06/2025 15:34

I suspect you wouldn't have posted if it was a woman.

Katemax82 · 02/06/2025 15:34

My autistic son is 19, 6ft 4 and 19st and looks about 25 but would probably go watch a kids film of he really wanted too, especially if it was loony tunes
