I was having blood test yesterday and the phlebotomist said I had excellent veins. I’m not sure what makes veins excellent, but I was glad to hear it!

I have very pointy nipples. The midwife called her colleagues over for a look after I'd had my baby. 'Look at these nipples- they'll be great for breastfeeding' (they were)

Dogaredabomb · 28/05/2025 20:55

As I was having a smear the nurse said that I was 'very good at relaxing' well, yes, it's my special skill. Or did she mean that things were very relaxed? Like a hammock, sagging, relaxing on the ground. I'll never know.

When DH and I were private renting for a year some years ago (between homes,) a woman in the road (who owned a 4 bed detached house,) thought we had bought the house. She was shocked when we said we were renting. She said we 'don't look or seem like people who rent.' She said we 'look a bit better than renters.' Confused

All the LOLz. WTF do people who rent look like?! And how and why do we look 'better?'

I was like 'ooooookaaaaayyyyyyyy' 😐

Your traps are massive. My eldest DS to me when I was wearing a vest top recently. I was stupidly pleased with this seeing as I work really hard on my fitness!

BernardButlersBra · 28/05/2025 20:53

Probably my hairdresser when they said l have a very tidy hair line, where my hair meets my neck. They find messy ones that go down the neck a bit grim. Obviously l don't know as it's round the back of my head!

I have also had the veins one! Handy as the last 5 years or so have involved LOTS of blood tests and lm super easy to bleed

MrsHamlet · 28/05/2025 20:53

I have lovely smooth arteries.

ProfYaffle · 28/05/2025 20:52

"Those shoes look lovely from the back" Confused

Nannylovesshopping · 28/05/2025 20:52

The one and only compliment I have ever received, I was with my daughter on holiday, and a complete stranger on his way out of the restaurant stopped and said to me , you are the most beautiful woman in here, then was gone, I swooned and my daughter said wow mum! I have been known to mention it now and again😳🤣

It’s something they say every day. It means it’s easy for them to do the blood test. I don’t have excellent veins, makes their job harder and means I get stabbed more than once.

Damn. I don’t feel so special now!

I was once told by a runner in Victoria Park, East London, that I have psychic abilities. Not exactly the setting I expected for a spiritual awakening, but hey stranger things have happened mid-run. I am a bit psychic but a bit scared of it

"You've got a really boring voice, it's perfect."

Followed quickly by "No, it's not a bad thing, it's just really calm and monotonous, it's just what we need"

MoominMai · 28/05/2025 20:45

A sort of indirect compliment but heck I wanna join in this thread! 😅. When I went to collect my car after MOT and service, the receptionist said all was good and passed/no work needed and then said “actually it was very clean”. I’m not really sure what that means but I was very proud of myself haha

DontTouchRoach · 28/05/2025 20:42

A man I had a brief relationship with when I was younger told me I seemed “like the sort of girl who could easily be an assassin”

EBearhug · 28/05/2025 20:39

I too have a beautiful cervix.

At least I did. That was some years ago, before a polypectomy and various investigations.

Mind you, this thread is making me feel a bit less special. <sniff>

Shitmonger · 28/05/2025 20:39

A few months ago an American woman in a shop told me “You have the best nose I’ve ever seen. Seriously, it’s absolutely perfect!”

I was quite pleased actually as I’ve never known what to think of my nose. ☺️

Blackcountryexile · 28/05/2025 20:39

Someone once told me that they liked the way I pronounced a word!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/05/2025 20:35

I have very straight ear canals, which apparently made examining them very easy.

Also the day after I gave birth the midwife complimented me on my uterus having gone straight back to size. I’d never considered it wouldn’t but she said it was unusually fast.

bubblesformiles · 28/05/2025 20:34

I'm good at " voiding" by a urologist 😂

MmeChoufleur · 28/05/2025 20:33

A midwife told me I had “the pelvic floor of an ox” and “hips like a farmer’s daughter”. I’m not sure whether either was an insult or compliment, but I was impressed with her line in agricultural similes.

merryhouse · 28/05/2025 20:32

Surgeon to nurse practitioner: "come and look at this Louise: you often get this with really short-sighted people. See how clearly you can see the retina without using the lens"

no it's not really a compliment, but I felt absurdly pleased by it!

Once had a random 5-yo say to me "I think you're absolutely beautiful"

Tontostitis · 28/05/2025 20:32

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/05/2025 20:09

I have two.

One was that I have a "lovely" cervix according to the lady doing my smear.

Another was that I have a "nice high fold", this was from the (STONKINGLY good looking) surgeon drawing lines all over my boobs before my surgery. The fold is the bit where your boob joins your chest apparently.

My surgeon put excessive droopage on my notes pre boob job

Battleforthesun · 28/05/2025 20:31

Ooh - when I was in labour with my eldest I was firstly told I have ‘excellent muscle tone’ when I accidentally popped the speculum out of me when the midwife turned around to get something and then after I gave birth another midwife told me I had ‘lovely nipples for breastfeeding’ 🤣

JustBitetheKnotsOff · 28/05/2025 20:22

"You have very classical toes."

Said to me in a park in Paris by a passing Frenchman with a small dog who had just sniffed them.

The dog. Not the man.

VeryQuaintIrene · 28/05/2025 20:14

That my mouth is a very pretty shape when I am singing. Apparently most people's are ugly - who knew?!

ThisHangryTiger · 28/05/2025 20:13

That I have a pretty cervix after I'd just had my routine smear (and also previously having a biopsy done on it) 🤣
