I was having blood test yesterday and the phlebotomist said I had excellent veins. I’m not sure what makes veins excellent, but I was glad to hear it!

What’s the most random compliment you’ve ever received?

I have a perfect nose ……from the side !

Bananararity · 28/05/2025 21:22

GP told me I have ‘text book ears’.

I am waiting to answer the call when civilization needs such ears.

TabbyBeast · 28/05/2025 21:22

Went for a smear and after hearing the nurse exclaim "oh my goodness", I asked what was wrong only for her to say I had the healthiest looking cervix she had ever seen!

“It’s so lovely to see a young woman who doesn’t pretend to be like everyone else - we can’t all be slim and beautiful”

Apparently it was a compliment. That hair dresser never got a tip and I never returned either in 25+ years 🤣

That's a corker! Shock

osirista · 28/05/2025 21:19

À man I met on Tinder - bet most men find you intimidating. Never been sure if it was a compliment or an insult.

"Well she's lovely and proud" about my cervix during a coil fitting

vinavine · 28/05/2025 21:18

@feelingbleh 😆😆 Nope. I should have asked what she meant but I was somewhat taken aback. Do bloods reveal gender?

WolfFoxHare · 28/05/2025 21:17

That I looked like a young Jodie Foster (Silence of the Lambs era, not Taxi Driver)

Zov · 28/05/2025 21:17

Aren't people daft @DelboytrottersDnecklace ? 😆

NewJoolz · 28/05/2025 21:15

At my recent mammogram, I was told I had radiologically perfect breasts! Physically, they are a pair of spaniels ears, but I’m taking that compliment all day long! 😆

When DH and I were private renting for a year some years ago (between homes,) a woman in the road (who owned a 4 bed detached house,) thought we had bought the house. She was shocked when we said we were renting. She said we 'don't look or seem like people who rent.' She said we 'look a bit better than renters.' Confused

All the LOLz. WTF do people who rent look like?! And how and why do we look 'better?'

I was like 'ooooookaaaaayyyyyyyy' 😐

Edited

We had the exact opposite

We own our house outright but keep ourselves to ourselves

The silly cow next door (council tenant for context) moved in and tried to turn herself into the queen bee of our road

She wanted us out 'as they only rent','I want them out so my friend can move in' and lots of 'I'm going to get your landlord to throw you out!' to our faces

We just laughed and kept our mouths shut-it doesn't matter if we rent or own our house-its nothing to do with her,it's purely our business

I happened to mention to the local busybody that we own our house and it got back to queen bee (busybody is a customer at work and it came up in conversation-I didn't know she knew next door)

'They don't look like they own their house!'

What does a homeowner look like?!

Not us obviously

VaddaABeetch · 28/05/2025 21:14

A colleague said you have such an attractive personality & with which is just as well as you have no looks to speak of

cavalier · 28/05/2025 21:14

I was worried about giving birth to first son 38 years ago and told midwife so as my sons head is big lol she said “ pelvis like a bucket “ 😂 😬😂

raven0007 · 28/05/2025 21:12

I’ve had my cervix removed. At a follow up appointment the woman complimented my ‘nice tidy scar’… whilst still peering up there… I laughed and the spectrum started to slide out.

SuperGinger · 28/05/2025 21:09

And my dad described me as homely when I was about 21 and thought I was quite sophisticated, I just took it as a compliment as I was actually behaving fairly atrociously and had about five boyfriends on the go at the same time so I felt I'd pulled the wool over his eyes.

NoraLuka · 28/05/2025 21:06

An ex once said I was the salt of the earth. I wasn’t sure if that was exactly the vibe I was going for as a 19 year old but I’d be quite happy to hear it now.

Hadalifeonce · 28/05/2025 21:05

I feel quite intimidated by you, but I really like you.

SuperGinger · 28/05/2025 21:02

My brother told me my nipples were a good shape for breast feeding. Ughh wrong on do many levels, I felt like a cow

*I had just had DC1 and apparently my SIL had lots of problems breast feeding.

BIossomtoes · 28/05/2025 21:01

Oh and apparently I have the blood pressure of a prepubescent girl - not too shabby at 71.

Xanadu58 · 28/05/2025 21:01

That I hang out a lovely line of washing!

Vivienne1000 · 28/05/2025 21:00

That I have a perfect uterus. And that I could still carry a baby at 59. Very odd comment from a male health professional…..

BIossomtoes · 28/05/2025 21:00

My son’s teacher told me I was exactly like my elegant handwriting. Obviously this was back in the dark ages before email!

freezingmytoesoff · 28/05/2025 20:59

My fertility Dr said I have a beautiful uterus, doesn’t help with the complete lack of eggs though 😂

Was also once told I look like a pre-Raphaelite painting, very random but quite nice (I think?!)
