To the men defenders we are not saying these things out of meanness or prejudice they are our own and our daughters actual lived experiences! So no I won’t be quiet to save men’s feelings. Fuck that. Stop behaving badly and as if by magic the criticisms will then cease.

So if there was a male forum with lots of women bashing, you'd be okay with that?

Do you think women kill any men as a result of man-bashing on the internet?

misssultana · 28/05/2025 15:37

@memoriesofamiga Also if you voice any of that men will just assume you are envious of your daughters beauty and her ability to attract men because obviously to the male mind a woman's raison d'etre is to be beautiful and young so she can attract as much male attention and be as pleasing to men as possible.

They seriously cannot comprehend that older women might want to protect girls from exploitation, abuse and even the discomfort of male attention that we remember from that age so well.

TheaBrandt1 · 28/05/2025 15:36

Memories yes it is disgusting. Dd now 16 and has already had lots of grim incidents with men leering / saying vile things for years now 🤮🤮🤮

You've just described most of social media...

I am sick of women being anti men just because they are men. They have a much more difficult time of it these days than women and deserve to be supported not slated

Oh dear.

Oh yes a thread on a female based forum is the worst!! Guys having the confidence to actually say any thoughts directly to women they don't even know, attack, abuse and belittle is nothing compared to the power of this individual thread. Thanks for pointing out the audacity

My 14 year old DD is in a blooming phase, without any effort or knowledge on her part she's turning into a beautiful young lady. The effect this seems to have suddenly had on men, especially men much older, old enough to be her dad, is making me sick of men in general. Walking out and about in public with her is eye opening, the blatant, open leering at her, comments as she passes, getting into her personal space 'by accident' with an air of masculine threat, is giving me mum rage. I'm reminded of how things were when I was her age, but seeing it happen to her makes my blood boil. I havnt challenged any of these men, yet, because I know male anger enough not to want to make it worse. I know I'm not the only Mum to have noticed this, it's not an isolated thing.

Why can't older men just fuck off and leave teenage girls alone?

The insistence by some that any issues faced by women at the hands of men are also faced by men at the hands of women. The refusal to acknowledge the protection afforded by their privilege and physical advantage and pretence that 'if you flipped the sexes' the situation would be the same. Any discussion about male VAWG inevitably joined by some tiresome individual with some anecdote about a violent woman they once knew. The pretence that 'misandry' is the equal opposite to misogyny and that any criticism of men is misandry. Thankfully I don't encounter this much in real life, but on here it's very irritating.

But they are faced by men at the hands of women. Your denial of it makes you very naive.

This. Imagine the outrage if a man posted a similar thread about women?

Unfortunately 1 in 4 women are raped by men in their lifetime.

There are no stats to differentiated race like that, or sexuality or anything else that I can think of.

Yes there are.

Yet we read about women being murdered (and in cases like the Hunt murders, whole families) everyday because the men think the women don't have the right to end a relationship, or turn down sex. I've known four women murdered under such circumstances, in one case her and her Mother, you are incredibly lucky if it hasn't happened locally to you. I'm sick of children dying in house fires the Mother's ex (and usually the father) have started, just because she doesn't want carry on living with abuse.

You also hear of men in the same situation too. It's hardly fair to blame ALL men because of these scenarios.

Yeah, I’m trying, but it’s very complicated and I don’t trust him to take care of his kids.. and he’s trying for 50/50 despite working constantly. It’s very tricky. Narcs are in a league of their own!

Oh they are! Nobody gets it untill they have the personal horrible experience of one.
Ocht it’s all nonsense how can he possibly have them when he’s working ?
As soon as another female gives him any attention he will be too busy for caring for his own kids

Yeah i'm sure the millions of white men who've been sent off to be cannon fodder in wars were checking their male privilege from the comfort of their trenches.

Or the men who stayed behind and were attacked by women with white feathers for not going.

Look around at all the street homeless most of it is men.

You realise that women were barred from participation in nearly every single occupation that conferred real status or power during those times? Barred by men. Barred from voting too, so they had no means of stopping warmongering men. Barred from becoming elected representatives - what was the makeup of the governments that sent men off to war?

Newsflash - rich white men sent poor white men off to war.

Massice eyeroll @ your hand wringing.

misssultana · 28/05/2025 14:59

They have a much more difficult time of it these days than women

Can you give some examples? I’m struggling to come up with any tbh, but maybe I’m too old in my 50’s to hear about young men’s struggles. My DS hasn’t discussed anything at any rate.

mathanxiety · 28/05/2025 14:59

The complete lack of humility.

misssultana · 28/05/2025 14:59

Also adult men riding their bikes and e-scooters on the footpath. Its always adult men shouting at you from behind to get out of their way. Its pathetic behaviour.

misssultana · 28/05/2025 14:58

I notice that a lot of men expect me to validate them in some way or they take general politeness as some kind of come on. A huge amount of men seem to have issues of some kind with gambling, porn use, substance abuse, debt and poor emotional regulation getting angry, sulking or violent outbursts.

Even many "nice" men have these issues. My two closest friends one is a consultant doctor, married to a software designer who regularly drinks so much he pisses the bed and they need to use rubber sheets, the other is a university professor married to a solicitor who has essentially gambled their life savings away on the stock market to the point where they can't afford to buy a home in their early 50's.

It isn't all men but their are very few good reliable men to go around for all the good women I know.

Another comment suggests that women maintaining their appearance are doing so for men but that is simply not the case for me anyway. I do look after myself, I eat well, exercise, do Pilates and yoga, I look after my skin and hair but I do so for myself to maintain my own health and wellbeing and for good health as I age. If that makes me more attractive to men and more of a target of their interest then that is a regrettable side effect and not my aim.

I am married to a man I consider decent, I wouldn't be with him otherwise.

FrankensteinsMonster · 28/05/2025 14:53

Ponoka7 · 28/05/2025 14:22

How many times over your lifetime have you heard women or gay men shouting this publically at random men?

Shouting what publicly?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 28/05/2025 14:52

The way that they absolutely will offer me unsolicited advice/criticism about my bike/riding skills, when I know deep in my heart they would never with another man.

It's the confidence they have to just say anything to me because they know/suspect they will get away with it because I don't pose a physical threat.

JHound · 28/05/2025 14:48
  1. Casual misogyny (although a lot of women display that too.)
  2. Always grouping themselves. So they struggle to criticise a man’s behaviour / group of men’s behaviour unless they can “other” themselves from the group being referred to
  3. Similar to above - try to make a woman to blame for a man’s behaviour (probably falls under 1).
Whaleadthesnail · 28/05/2025 14:40

referring to me and my female colleague as 'the girls'
