I am sick of women being anti men just because they are men. They have a much more difficult time of it these days than women and deserve to be supported not slated

CookingFatCat · 28/05/2025 13:03

I just hate the fact that women are conditioned, no brainwashed from birth to want to be chosen by one. And no matter how awful the relationship, or you’ve won at life for getting one.
And the irony of everything @AnnieAzul
said.
Get a boyfriend whilst simultaneously avoid getting raped attacked murdered.

TheaBrandt1 · 28/05/2025 13:00

The stats on which sex sticks around when the other spouse / partner becomes seriously ill are fucking depressing too. Think it was 1 in 6 men that stay - almost all the women do.

OtterlyMad · 28/05/2025 07:18

Expecting a pat on the head simply for contributing.
“I’ve unloaded the dishwasher”
“I’ll strip the bed for you”
“I just did the washing up”

Like …ok? What do you want, a medal?

(Yet I’m also grateful because there are so many women on Mumsnet with disgusting useless lumps for partners and mine is actually decent, even though this is a really annoying habit of his!)

“I’ve unloaded the dishwasher”
“I’ll strip the bed for you”
“I just did the washing up”

I've started doing this to DH. The dumb-founded look on his face was priceless.

giddyauntie123 · 28/05/2025 12:59

@SamDeanCas yep, the absolute entitlement, what a fucking joker. Builders are particularly awful as they're in demand and think they're some sort of demi-gods, especially British ones

ShouldIEvenBother · 28/05/2025 12:57

I'm also sick of men who leave their wives and partners when the wife or partner gets sick because she is no longer useful as a sex doll, cleaner, or cook. And god forbid she needs to be shown some love and tenderness in a diabolical time. How utterly depressing for any woman in this situation to also realise she was never really loved by the man.

User32459 · 28/05/2025 12:18

So just white men then?

Men of colour still benefit from male privilege, even though there are levels of privilege white men have access to that they don't.

giddyauntie123 · 28/05/2025 12:55

The way they think any woman is a dumb accommodating audience for their boring fuckwit ramblings, be it which slipways are open and closed on the M25, how you get custom skirting boards made, (when they don't even do DIY), conspiracy theories, URGGGGH

ShowOfHands · 28/05/2025 12:52

I hate the way the only overwhelming emotion they're allowed to display is anger. I see it in the classroom and on the playground and I know that the 14yr old boy who objectifies me (a 44yr old woman) and judges me is a victim right now, but he's a few short years away from being a perpetrator and it's an epidemic.

Of course the brilliance and curiosity of adolescence abounds, but we have a serious problem still.

ShouldIEvenBother · 28/05/2025 12:47

I'm sick of their problematic personalities, which in turn, become the issue for the woman:

the porn addiction, the visiting of sex workers behind their partners backs, the alcoholism, the inability to be financially literate to at least budget appropriately, the cheating and lack of self-control in so many other areas such as refraining from being on dating apps whilst also in a relationship, the pedo's (christ, the statistics on the percentage of men who are sexually attracted to minors is utterly foul), the rapists, the violent men, the men who do fek all at home and with parenting (then complain about the dead bedroom), THE 70,000 MEN IN ONE CHAT ROOM ON TELEGRAM sharing ideas of how to drug and rape the women they live with... list goes on.

I find their ability to LIE SO EASILY gross, too. A lot of men seem to have little conscientiousness. Because of their entitlement, they don't just lie but also believe their lies, or at least believe they are entitled to lie!

Women have evolved; we're capable in all aspects. I find many men useless at best and utterly problematic at worst. And, like all the other women on this thread, I did not start out feeling this way as a young woman. My interaction and life experiences have shown me this

Sorry, fella's. You only have yourselves to blame.

Redflagsabounded · 28/05/2025 12:37

Ha, was it my comment on the 'things you've grown out of' thread.

Specifically men: smelly bedroom (omg beer farts and sweats). Most my age are getting moany, grumpy, boring and stick-in-the-mud. Often mediocre sex. Sexism. Racism abounds. Resentment of women being more successful, vibrant, interesting, intelligent than them. Man flu.

Relationships in general: I'm in a stage where I'm happy doing what I want when I want, not having to do anything I don't want. Not having to deal with someone else's family and friends.

SamDeanCas · 28/05/2025 12:36

This gives me a great opportunity to whinge about my builder (having an extension done at the moment).

Although we have a deadline for completion this is looking less and less likely to happen. Why you might ask! Oh because he can’t work full time hours as he has his daughter 50% of the time. He arrives at 9.30 and leaves at 2. Does the school run, clubs etc, what an amazing man he is, father of the year, juggles single parenthood whilst running a business! OH FUCK THE FUCK OFF!!! I know plenty of single parents, myself included who juggle a full time job and looking after children. We aren’t hailed as gods gift to parents, or go around telling everyone how hard it is, or use it as an excuse to do a 4.5 hr day and expect it to be ok. Miss deadlines because ‘I have to pick up my daughter’.

Just pisses me off as he EXPECTS people to make allowances for him, when every single woman I know who’s raising kids more than 50% are expected to just make it work.

ok rant over

smallglassbottle · 28/05/2025 12:35

Yes, they always seem to accuse women of being irrational and over emotional when they're the ones who can't control their urges, tempers etc. They seem to be slaves to their egos and sex drives.

ifeelprettyorange · 28/05/2025 12:20

I’m late 30s and found myself single since divorce a couple of years ago. And the amount of men who expect a woman to be their emotional/financial/sexual helper whilst offering very little in return is staggering.

Also the men who put things on dating profiles like:

”Have a job, have my shit together” (Wow! Well done you!)

or my pet peeve

”Dont want drama or crazy women”. absolute sign that you are the man who will gaslight/lie/manipulate your partner into becoming dramatic or “crazy”.

Get in the bin.

This is argument is as tedious as it is illogical.

You would have a valid point if men were an oppressed group. Or if we weren't living in a society where men have historically held a disproportionate level of power and influence whilst actively seeking to exclude women from positions of power, and still have a disproportionate level of control over resources in both the public and private spheres.

As it stands, you're talking rubbish.

So just white men then?

So a thread about why we hate white people, or straight people, or the English is ok?

smallglassbottle · 28/05/2025 12:10

I think the way they feel entitled to comment on women, our appearance, weight, behaviour, parking etc. They honestly believe they're here to police us and then further believe we should actually listen to them!

The fact that they're unpredictable and potentially dangerous and we can't always tell who's okay and who we should avoid like the plague.

The endless objectification. It seems they're absolutely confounded by the idea that we're intelligent, sentient beings who have exactly the same internal world, thoughts and opinions that they do and that we're not actually domestic animals or servants.

Someone should start a similar thread about black people, or gays, or the Irish, or whatever.

Gettingbysomehow · 28/05/2025 11:10

There isn't enough room on this thread for me to start. The only man I'm happy with is my DS because I brought him up properly and he is not a selfish idiot.

So all the awful men are the fault of their mothers? Not themselves?

Flamingoknees · 28/05/2025 11:40

The total and utter selfishness. That explains all my other points really.

CalicoPusscat · 28/05/2025 11:40

Comments about appearance. Some seem to think they're gods.

A friend called me 'old and ugly' because he knew I was worried about an upcoming birthday. He's over 10 years older than me. Then 'you've got a cracking pair of legs' and 'you'd look great blonder'. I was thinking about highlights but I don't tell him to dye his hair.

Renabrook · 28/05/2025 11:38

Ifpicklesweretickles · 28/05/2025 11:30

The ugliest vilest old little creeps having the confidence to approach women and think they'd be in with a chance.

Well there are women who line up for them, or stay with them

Ifpicklesweretickles · 28/05/2025 11:38

ItsBouqeeeet · 28/05/2025 09:00

This. Imagine the outrage if a man posted a similar thread about women?

Imagine the outrage if women oppressed men the way men have done to women for thousands of years in most spheres.

StandFirm · 28/05/2025 11:36

Yep.
