I’ll start… 3 days ago I took a chunk out of my thumb whilst putting my socks on because I had a really rough toenail I hadn’t noticed. It’s like a paper cut but worse! Still hurts, still stings with everything that touches it 3 days on 😭. Please make me feel better….

"Who knew eyes bled"

Any part of us without a blood supply would be a bit fucked! 😉 😅

PrincessNannie · 01/06/2025 15:42

Tried to hang a wind chime from the ceiling in my lounge. Fell off the chair and my head hit the window sill - had a concussion.
Removing a raw plug out of a wall pulled really hard and it suddenly came free. My hand and the wrench hit my lip - two stitches required.
Dropped a picture and the glass broke. A piece of glass bounced off the floor and scratched my eye. Who knew eyes bled. A trip to A&E to make sure no serious damage.

All this happened over a period of time 7 days. Good job my flat was only a 6 minute walk from A&E.

I was washing my face too vigorously, my little finger went all the way up my nostril and cause a horrendous nose bleed!

Omg - I did this! I was really scrubbing hard and my little finger nail was soooo sharp! Pain for days! And ridiculous explaining it to others

Turning around on the street to look at someone ( being nosy at what they were wearing) walked straight into a pole side ways & had a bump on side of my head that made me look deformed

Our next door neighbours had recently emigrated to Australia. The house was still empty at this time. One day a car pulled up and three suits emerged and knocked the door. I was returning home myself at this point, having a not very discreet nosey. Not looking where I was going I fell flat on my face on the pavement outside our drive. Oh, the shame. 😳 The suits expressed concern and I could only express regret that I couldn't help them with their enquiries regarding our former neighbours (I wouldn't have, anyway, not my business).

Shut the door with one hand whilst the other hand was in the gap between the hinges. I was very sleep-deprived and stressed which is the only explanation I can muster. How I didn't break fingers I don't know but hoo boy did it crunch!

I did that in December with my parents' front door. I have mobility problems and was trying to steady myself while going out the door. No treatment needed but I ended up with a big dent and the damaged nail part turned brown with the old blood trapped underneath. Then the dead nail lifted off as the new nail grew beneath. It's almost back to normal now.

One time, I attempted to get a ceramic bowl off the top shelf of a cupboard by teasing it toward the edge with a wooden spoon. I am aware how idiotic this was. Not surprisingly the bowl hit the counter, shattered and one of the tiny shards hit my eye. I ended up at A&E with a nasty scratched cornea.

Ouch! Sometimes wearing glasses has its perks!

Well, there was that time when we had a real fire and I pulled the little drawer thing out to help the 'draw' on the fire...with my bare hand. God knows why, I usually used the tongs. Lovely burn blisters on my fingers that took ages to heal.

Icecreamhelps · 01/06/2025 14:04

Broke my toe on a piece of mdf with a jigsaw on. We have a beige carpet.
Tripped on a kerb and broke my wrist.
Walked into a lamppost and broke my tooth.

Yawned and dislocated my jaw.

I’ve done that too

HelpMeGetThrough · 01/06/2025 13:55

Broke my nose walking into unopened patio doors. I bounced off them and ended up flat on my back on the settee.

Mothers fault for keeping them so clean.

MooMooMoooove · 01/06/2025 13:40

Not an injury but while holding scissors noticed a spot (the same arm I was holding the scissors) and while investigating/trying to pop it I managed to cut a huge chunk of hair at the front of and left myself with a chunk of hair about an inch long that stood up like a peacock 🦚

SinnerBoy · 01/06/2025 13:01

Daftest was at the age of 10.

My middle older sister came downstairs crying, I asked what the matter was. She just beckoned me, so I followed her to her room. She pointed at the wall mounted angle poise lamp, minus the bulb.

"Did you stick your finger in there?" I asked... before doing the same. I had two little round burns, from the contacts.

Broke my fingers on a spacehopper

I slipped over in a ham packing factory, whilst putting farts into the packaging.

I assume this is a typo. Otherwise, you probably deserved it...

JudgeJ · 01/06/2025 12:37

Washing my hair in the shower I reached to turn the water pressure down but accidently turned the temperature up to maximum, massive red marks all over boobs and lay on the bed defrosting various bags of frozen vegetables. It was a few days before our daughter's wedding too.
One Christmas our daughter and her family were out doing the rounds of family and OH went to get something out of the garage freezer, he return with blood streaming down his face, I had warned him numerous times to lift the garage door properly. Other daughter and he spent a few hours on Christmas Day in A and E to get it stitched. Secretly I found getting lunch ready on my own far easier .

I've given myself a black eye. I was trying to open a pack of ham. I am really clumsy and often have large bruises...

@theDudesmummy - My father still sometimes banged his head on a low doorway after 30 years in the house...

EBearhug · 01/06/2025 12:00

I burnt my tongue eating lots of wasabi peas.

UniqueExpert · 01/06/2025 11:38

I once got sore cuts at the side of my mouth from eating pringles sideways.

It was a teenage thing, I can't even remember why there was a group of us doing it.

TripleSeptic · 01/06/2025 11:10

Baking a cake in a springform tin, didn’t fasten the spring. Lifted cake from the oven and put my oven-gloved hand on the base of the tin. Base and cake pushed up, I was left wearing a 160 degree springform ring on my left arm like a bangle 🤪

Facescar77 · 01/06/2025 11:10

Mine are not as dramatic as some of these but I bruised my thumb picking up a plate, cut my finger on a slice of Christmas cake and managed to slice through my bum cheek in the shower, no idea how, there's nothing sharp in there?!

NinaGeiger · 01/06/2025 11:03

Breaking my hand punching a sofa

Missj25 · 01/06/2025 11:00

Oh God PP , that sounds awful. !
Was the injury very severe?

theDudesmummy · 01/06/2025 10:55

One for DH just yesterday. We are busy restoring an old wreck of a house. It's old enough for some of the doorways to be only about 6 foot high. They can't be enlarged as the house is literally built of stones and the doorways would probably collapse. Cue him spending the last few months, since we moved in, repeatedly saying to DS that when he grows taller he is going to have to remember to duck when he goes through those doorways (I am too short for it to matter). Last night DH walked slap bang into a doorway and bashed the front of his head, then fell backwards and bashed his elbow. It was a bit too scary to laugh at as there was a lot of blood! (He's fine though).
