“You’re never going to lose weight if you eat like that”

I have done very well and lost 25 pounds. With more to go.

I am away on holiday with brother, SIL, my husband and kids. We get on well (most of the time).

On the first night I had a little bit of a moan as the way I had lost weight had seemingly stopped yielding results. So I mentioned I am probably going to shake things up when we get home. I was directly asked by brother. I know not to talk too much about weight as it is one of those topics most find very boring. I told brother and SIL that I probably need to add more calories as the 1000 calorie diet plan seems to have randomly stopped working. Once again I shared this info when directly asked.

So today I ate:

  • veg green juice
  • 1/3 Boursin, veg sticks and maybe 4/5 crackers the size of a Jacob’s one (this was pure gluttony as it was next to me by the pool. In the past I could’ve easily put the whole thing away)
  • cornetto (chosen because I didn’t know how many calories were in the ice cream from the icecream parlour)
  • small burrito (no cheese or sour cream)
  • Stuck to Diet Coke over wine

When sil saw me tucking into the Cornetto she made a very snarky comment like “I don’t think too few calories is your problem, Ploverz! Hahaha”. Bloody cackled

What a horrible thing to say! I obviously don’t eat like this everyday.

I just need to vent! All things considered I don’t think today was totally unhinged like it would have been a few months ago. SIL is a size 6 and it’s just left me feeling sorry for myself.

Hand on my heart I have been doing 1000 calories at home.

Depends how long your 'little bit of a moan' about not losing weight was. If someone complained about not losing weight then the next day was eating cheese and ice cream I would also be quite sceptical about their calorie counting.
Depending on the size of the portions that days calorie intact would be about 1200-1500

Why do people choose to go on holiday with people they don’t really like?

WFHmutha25 · 19/05/2025 18:18

Yeah gloves are off. Definitely tell her to fuck off with her bitchy comments! Who the hell would say that to someone?? I'd distance myself from her after this.

Just stop discussing your personal eating habits/weight problems with other people.

It doesn't matter if they did randomly ask you.

She was bloody rude though.

I’d say, I’m on holiday, kindly fuck off - I wouldn’t say that out loud but my death stare would have given that vibe.
