Beckhams

Am I unreasonable to feel sorry for Victoria and David beckham over the so called ‘rift’ with their son, which Victoria says is her worst nightmare. I know from experience how this situation can get out of hand and how heartbreaking it is when a beloved child breaks contact with their parents .

naturally the media is blaming the woman!

There are things to be curious about such as nature, the universe, existentialism, wars, etc.
The ins and out the day to day life of a girl from a small hertfordshire town and her essex husband and nepo kids are something intelligent humans give a shit about

Another "who on earth has time for this vacuous shit apart from me who clearly has nothing better to do than trawl forums to post about things I don't care about to tell other people how much I don't care" poster eager to demonstrate their lack of logical thinking...

If its so irrelevant and uninteresting why are you wasting your time telling people how irrelevant and interesting you find it? Go do literally anything else you'd prefer!

Brooklyn doesn’t come across as a very nice person to me. Which is arguably not necessarily his parents fault.

How does he come across as not nice? I’ve seen lots of things mocking his career choices, bur I’ve never seen anything to say he isn’t nice. In fact, there are lots of things saying all the children are very polite, kind, well mannered etc.

Who cares.

But David will be there for Brocklyn (whatever his name is) long after Peltz has gone.

You're assuming the marriage will fail then? I mean in terms of celeb marriages its not am unreasonable assumption but normally on this board people would advise the opposite (and indeed the law of averages suggests most peoples partners will outlive their parents) - if a woman posted on here complaining about her dh's parents most comments rush to assure her that his new family should be his priority....

No one has any idea what is going on in their family

but he is a grown man. He is married. He shouldn’t be at the beck and call of his parents anymore (no pun intended!)

he lives in the US. They live in the UK. Yes it would have been nice if he had attended the party but he is living his own life and maybe doesn’t want to be paraded around on their instagram accounts anymore. He can’t win really.

he’s married someone rich and let’s face it, a bit dim just like him and he seems very happy. I think they should be left alone to just spend their riches tbh!

Edited

And that would be fine except for the fact they were in the UK when the parties happened. Nasty.

Well I'm interested and I'm very intelligent thanks. We can't ponder 'existentialism' all day you know

Okay, so I have too much time on my hands at the moment and need a distraction from my own shitty life.

I read that One of the other sons is currently engaged to Brooklyns ex girlfriend and that’s why Brooklyn and his wife won’t go any events they are at and it’s caused a rift.

Nope. Tabloid garbage

Icecreammaninavan · 15/05/2025 10:48

If I were Brooklyn’s mother I would be even more upset about it all knowing the Markles have inserted themselves into the situation. There’ll be no chance of a reconciliation once they start dishing out their advice.

I really wouldn’t believe all you read.

luckylavender · 15/05/2025 10:49

Coffeeishot · 07/05/2025 07:23

Families fall out I'm.sure it will work our I think his wife is getting the" blame" but I read that one of the other sons is going out with Brooklyns ex girl friend and was present at the birthdays, that has to be awkward.

That's actually not true

Possibly but the leaked wedding texts don’t paint NP in a good light at all even when Wedding stress taken into account. BBP just doing as told in this context, how much money/power equivalence does he have in relationship. Did the Beckhams buy their house?

I think where there is obvious leaking of stories, I wouldn’t believe any of it.

User14March · 15/05/2025 10:42

IDipYouDipWeDip · 15/05/2025 10:36

For all we know, Brooklyn could be the wronged party in all this, if there is even a rift, so why would you feel sorry for his parents without knowing the facts. They could be arseholes.

Apparently they’d planned to meet up anyway, BBP & NPB & M/H. The ‘rift’ coincidental.

Dreco · 15/05/2025 09:16

Isn’t it weird that last week a mumsnetter got ribbed for putting Brooklyn and Harry in the same bracket … yet here we are 😂

Padloque · 15/05/2025 09:10

On the plus side, I bet VB is secretly delighted to be bracketed with the actual King and Queen in the media handwringing about the Montecito Runaway Son Summit.

Yougottolaugh · 15/05/2025 09:06

Why are the royals being pulled into the Beckham media reports? First Kate wears a VB suit and now apparently Brooklyn and Nicola have attended a dinner party held by Harry and Meghan. It just gets more bizarre

User14March · 13/05/2025 19:19

Curiously Tom Bowers paints Brooklyn as keeping other women away from DB, getting drinks at Glasto for him & hoping to steer him away from Mary Charteris. Maybe not as meets eye or storm in teacup, who knows. Estrangement horrid though. Kate M wearing VB today or yesterday, media saying in solidarity.

Bunnycat101 · 12/05/2025 11:31

I find it fascinating that this is playing out so publicly which suggests one or both parties has been leaking to the press about it. I have to say the Netflix documentary made David look like he’d be a bloody nightmare to live with and I’m sure there will be some interesting dynamics at home. I also suspect that there is some sort of control being exerted re the brand. Online lots of the comments seem to jump to it being the wife’s fault but it’s not that hard to see why there might be some tension arising.

I agree. It's a natural thing to be curious and to gossip.

If you read Sapiens by Noah Yuval Harari he explains that one of the reasons for the success of Homosapiens as a race is our need for gossip and the ability to share information between groups of people. It's actually quite important and there's a reason we do it.

See! There is an actual reason I mainline Tattle and Digital Spy.

JSMill · 07/05/2025 20:01

There was a boy in my ds’s class at school who came from a very close knit family of 5, three boys. The parents were very warm and supportive and always present at school events. As the years went on, I felt a bit envious of how the parents were able to get their dcs to continue to socialise with them, on days out, meals etc. I did feel the mum was a bit of a matriarch but thought whatever, they’re happy. Then, last year one of the boys met a girl and completely cut his family, blocking them on everything. They just found out he got married as someone else saw it on Facebook. I wondered if perhaps being so close knit was smothering him and meeting a girl was a way out. Could this be the case here?

We’re fucking human and naturally curious species.

Brooklyn, the village idiot

The best thing he could do is get himself out of the limelight and actually work at learning something - everyone is good at something - he comes across like he can’t do anything at all. He’s an absolute clown. I wonder if he has the self awareness to be a bit embarrassed by it but I doubt it

Friartruckster · 07/05/2025 15:17

Slow news day here for me too so will step up with my tuppence worth.

I think because who gives ‘a’ about my opinion 😉 good on Brooklyn for stepping out of the firm and going private, happily spending his millions.

Redpeach · 07/05/2025 14:56

And what is that rift? Did they both date the same brother?

There were rumours about Brooklyn and Kim who were in the same social circle, but everyone has denied they were ever an item. Seems Nicola and Kim just don’t get on. Maybe.
