Why can’t Harry just pay for his own private security?

jennylamb1 · 03/05/2025 14:36

Don’t get it. He says that he can’t ever visit the UK again because his security won’t be provided. Loads of celebrities and high profile business people pay for their own security, why should tax payers pay for his security when he isn’t a working royal anymore?

@Lavenderfarmcottage, hello I’m still waiting for you to answer my question?

I would like to establish if you are from the U.K. but have been let down by our education system?
or cloistered away somewhere that meant you didn’t pick up on U.K. news , politics or history.

or worse from another country but feel fully comfortable lecturing an entire country about facts you don’t know about ( and have got wrong) ?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 04/05/2025 16:57

Harry has had the door firmly shut in his face now, glad to hear the government have clarified they will leave it to RAVEC.

Wes Streeting was asked by Trevor Phillips what he expected Yvette Cooper to do in response to the letter expected from Harry, WS was quite firm that it was an independent process and the government would leave it to Ravec.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 04/05/2025 16:55

I think I hear a bugle………

IAmATorturedPoet · 04/05/2025 16:54

So the jist of all that @Lavenderfarmcottage is you think this is all everyone else's fault, our society is inhumane, our court system is corrupt, our armed police should be available to hire on a whim and you reference monkeys, the pope, sacrificial lambs and Aldi and yet you say others are 'pedalling utter nonsense' 😵‍💫. Righto.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 04/05/2025 16:53

I don’t think I’m the one pedalling nonsense, I suggest you read your own posts back. Sounds as though you are not from this country seeing as you claim “your system makes Princes millionaires “ so I don’t think your posts hold any merit as you clearly have no understanding at all of our legal system or our constitution. Your posts are not worthy of my or anyone else’s time engaging with as they are completely ill informed.

I wouldn’t take any notice of that posters uninformed opinion, you should see the thread they started on ‘English’ people, though it may have been pulled by now.

👍 thanks

And if you don’t want the expense or the headache then don’t train a monkey to dance & make a celebrity out of a child.

this is the royal family YOU want from birth in your country and encourage and support and a media that has build an industry off them.

Harry’s identity was sold the moment he was born - cashing in his privacy now or attempting to be privare - it makes no difference - he’ll never be private. You threw him to the circus the minute he was born.

the inhumanity of British society and coldness after what he went through with his Mother and now the controversy over his wife & exiling them via security.

Excuse me , what do you mean by YOU , are you not from the U.K.?
are you not a resident of the U.K.?

Lavenderfarmcottage · 04/05/2025 16:48

There would be very few people with Harry & Meghan’s fame that don’t have far more funds than they had when they left the UK

Lavenderfarmcottage · 04/05/2025 16:47

lizzyBennet08 · 04/05/2025 16:44

The security thing is clearly a nonsense. Private security is used by practically every celebrity in the world as they jet in and out of Britain. Many of which have known stalkers . Harry has holidayed abroad with his family before without state protection. He doesnt have state protection the in the US where he lives where every loon can add an al47 to their shopping trolley with their bread.

Private security is expensive and will be more so as his kids get older and go off doing their own thing . If he was be granted IPP status he would receive that free in what every country he was in, not just the UK. He is still a relatively young man and while wealthy 3 ish million a year x 40 will sting almost anyone particularly when he’s exhausted the big money spinners source of income.

Yeh exactly - most of those people are private jet famous through making money. Harry is famous by birth and YOU people - that’s a huge amount of pressure he’s been put under to fund security.

Lavenderfarmcottage · 04/05/2025 16:45

CleaningSilverCandlesticks · 04/05/2025 16:37

Are Private individuals allowed to hire the police in your country? Talk about corruption if they are!

No but we don’t have a monarchy that we make dance like monkies on balconies and present their babies on the steps of a hospital in the cold, the day they’re born so that baby can become a child celebrity.

We don’t have a huge media industry that runs off this family we encourhse and their controversy.

Harry has been famous since birth, no chance at privacy, sacrifices to be royal and a mother turned into a mega star by a hungry media and public. He walked behind her coffin and endured that storm and now he can’t even safely visit her grave.

It’s obscene that you churn royal babies into mega stars snd don’t give them security. Royal families are expensive and it doesn’t surprise me you have this problem if a royal family that needs protection and a public who doesn’t want to pay it.

You can’t set all these conditions on someone’s right to security snd safety. If you parade babies and children around as Royal celebrities and force them into a life of duty then you need to have a fall back plan for if they choose freedom.

Sounds like a recipe for chaos and anarchy!

FenellaFeldman · 04/05/2025 16:40

Oh and the last "King of England" was William III, he was succeeded by Anne, then there was a union with Scotland in 1707.
Thereafter, they are Kings and Queens of Great Britain.

I would but it sounds like those decision making bodies are unwittingly corrupt or powerless and the court case was a waste of time.

Nobody can have an opinion on national security because people in national security are oppressive even when it doesn’t regard terrorism.

Finally, it’s your system that makes princes millionaires, he’s offered to pay for the security and if the cost of security is a big undertaking then don’t have children born into royalty and made celebrities. Thank god Archie & Lillibet didnt go down the same route - it was your society and media offering them up without an “insurance” plan.

You don’t just expect the royals to work, you expect them to dance and live in the public eye and create entertainment for you.

let’s not pretend this is a job at Aldi - this utter nonsense you’re pedalling. It’s not like Harry was employed by Aldi last week and then left and is still expecting to be paid. This is an entirely different thing - he was a sacrificial lamb for that institution and forevermore his safety is compromised.

Whereas evidence presented to the court by the Home Office about Harry's protection is - apparently - "word salad" 😂😂

😂

The number of wilfully obtuse people on this thread is astonishing. We’re all wasting our time trying to explain. It’s clear they’ll blindly believe whatever word salad comes out of Harry’s mouth, regardless of the facts.

Well @Lavenderfarmcottage seeing as you feel so incredibly strongly about a multi millionaire Prince who lives in a different country who doesn’t work for our government or the Royal Family I suggest you start a petition that you want the British tax payer to fund the Prince and his family’s 24/7 365 metropolitan armed security around the globe, and you could write to your MP, as you with your expert knowledge on National Security you could lay out your case why three top British Court judges are wrong in their ruling, I’m sure Harry would be ever so grateful, Good luck!

Probably meant with communication not money.

That's what I included. It's what Harry claims, so we don't know what's true, but I wouldn't blame C for not communicating, because it'll somehow get twisted for the Sussex narrative.

Lavenderfarmcottage · 04/05/2025 16:12

FenellaFeldman · 04/05/2025 16:07

Let's think about that: it's what Harry claims.
Harry lies. On Oprah he said his father had "cut him off", Duchy of Cornwall accounts prove that C was sending him money well after this date.
Secondly, if it's true about not speaking, can you blame Charles? Goodness knows how Harry would twist and misrepresent the conversation.

He's not speaking to him at all now.

I love how tough everyone is “oh well they’ll assess the risk and he should just trust that and carry on with threats against his kids”,

If any of you had to go one day knowing there were neo Nazi/taliban threats over your kids you’d be bunkered inside and wetting yourselves and have the exact same demands.

CleaningSilverCandlesticks · 04/05/2025 16:04

Charles has always accepted Harry as his 'darling boy' and it's no-one else's business

It is absolutely the business of Parliament and British ‘subjects’ that people in the LOS are entitled to be there.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 04/05/2025 16:04

jeffgoldblum · 04/05/2025 13:14

Can you hear yourself?
the upper classes! It’s not some tv drama series, these are real people with real lives .
and although the “upper classes “ apparently liked to engage in bed hopping, they were extremely serious about who inherited what !
and that doesn’t even include the royal family, who certainly don’t have “ bastards” running around the place since god knows how long ago !

the law about those included on the LOS isn’t just a royal one it’s also a parliamentary one , although the mother no longer has to give birth with a government member to watch anymore, these things are checked and taken seriously.

I wouldn’t take any notice of that posters uninformed opinion, you should see the thread they started on ‘English’ people, though it may have been pulled by now.
