Keep seeing this pop up and think they sound pathetic . Am I alone in finding this annoying?

‘Wholesome’ seems to be a buzzword amongst influencers and wannabe influencers. I find it tiresome too.

Sheeple.

No i like to see people happy and having a nice time life is to miserable. I would much rather see posts of people's holidays and fun days out then posts of people moaning about how ill they are or how much pain there in or checking themselves into a&e and not saying why pm me hun 🙄

Would you prefer they shared the blow by blow detail on unwholesome weekend?

See this is such a change in generational thinking… Gen X would get off on the ‘blow by blow detail of an unwholesome weekend.’ That would be epic and a REAL weekend. Climbing some hill, walking a muddy field and drinking some oat milk? Boring as shit. Get a life.

I only want to hear about hard drinking, 48 hour parties, and arguments about where the wheelie bins should be left, so I don't read anything wholesome. Block block block 💪

People can't talk about that on here as they'll get called an alcoholic! I'm sure some posters just pretend they don't drink or only have 1 glass of fizz when really they've hit it hard.

I've commented on a few posts about how much booze I'd take on a week long uk cottage holiday or what I drank over Easter weekend and people were shocked.

They'd be uproar over hard-core partiers (unless its took place at a black tie event obvs😅)

The most ironic post about a ‘wholesome weekend’ was posted on Facebook by a 21 year old introducing her new partner to her wider family…who’d just left his wife of over 20 years and 2 devastated young children to be with her. Doubt they were all having a ‘wholesome weekend’ in his absence…you couldn’t make it up!

Do they call them ‘wholesome weekends’? I must have missed this craze.

I've never heard any one call their weekend wholesome!

Something else I'll need to Google.

Not quite as risqué as the usual things I have to Google on MN methinks.

PickAChew · 30/04/2025 22:09

I mustn't be looking in the same places as you because I've never heard of such a thing.

Well at least they’d be genuine and I would be able to identify with them.

Yep, super annoying- the same type of people who try and look “wholesome” on dating apps so people think they’re SO at one with nature and free-spirited, when in reality they lie on the sofa all weekend binge watching Netflix - think photos of walking a dog from behind with sunset in the distance, wild swimming in some deserted lake, climbing a mountain with a massive back pack, homemade sandwiches by the river…yeah, you did each of those things one time!

Jennifershuffles · 30/04/2025 21:55

Just hide them if they're annoying you

soupyspoon · 30/04/2025 21:54

What is a wholesome weekend?
