Owen Lawrence - Leeds crossbow misogynist

I searched but couldn't find a thread discussing this. There was apparently a "hate filled" manifesto on facebook before the attack in Leeds, where Owen used a crossbow to hit two women. He is a self-described misogynist and interested in the far right. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3evygw383eo

Often on here we talk about young men and boys and their misogynistic online presence but this guy was 38 - old enough to be a father himself and clearly not a respectable role model. AIBU to think the idea of men who are older retraining into teaching roles isn't going to magically reverse this and may indeed make it worse? This violent behaviour against women clearly spans all ages and the right wing authoritarians in particular. Does anyone know how men are still getting hold of crossbows after Labour were supposed to be banning them? Is anyone else becoming increasingly worried about the growing threat these men are posing to women out in public?

In 2021-22, there were 16 female victims of homicide in Scotland, representing 30% of the total homicide victims. Between 2019-20 and 2020-21, the number of female victims decreased by nine from 19 to 10. In 2022-23, 25% of homicide victims were female, and in 2023-24, the number of homicide incidents recorded by the police increased by 12%.

One per month - not three per week.

In England and Wales, the number of female homicide victims in the year ending March 2024 was 156. This represents a 10% decrease from the previous year. The Femicide Census collects data on women killed by men in the UK, and in 2021, they documented 147 such deaths. A significant portion of these femicides, around 53%, occur at the hands of current or former intimate partners.

Males are more likely to be victims of homicide than females, with an overall rate of 16 victims per million population in 2023-24. The equivalent rate for females was five victims per million population

Left wing, right wing and in-between.
Christian, Hindu and Muslim.

It is unfair to say Reform and Andrew Tate lot.
It makes me think you are posting in bad faith.
I could tell you many ghastly and high profile murders committed by men who do not fit that description.

Left wing men are horrific. Labour has never had a woman leader for eg. Labour will not investigate rapes by Pakastanis incase they are racist. Labour are not interested in supporting women.
Right wing men get all the intellectual papers saying they are awful but my experience is left wing men throw women under the bus even faster.

And how does not having a female leader mean they are sexist?

Left wing men can absolutely be sexist but looking at society it’s definitely a strong link between conservative / right-wing politics and wanting to roll back women’s rights.
