More or Less
Sliced Bread
inside Health
Meet David Sedaris
Alexei Sayle’s Imaginary Sandwich Bar
I’d also look at the dramas that are available on R4. Charles Paris is great, Thursday Murder Club, The Great Gatsby

Charles Paris... really funny.
And Cabin Pressure ( but I don't know how many episodes are still up) .

Recently discovered that if you have Spotify family>?Premium? (not sure which) you get 16 hours a month of free audiobook, Don't do what I do and fall asleep without the timer on, as if you have to go back to re listen, you'll find you've used up your hours to finish the book!

I have really enjoyed SNAFU.
The first series is about how close we came to accidental nuclear war in the 80’s.
The second series is about how a group of protestors managed to break into an FBI office, steal documents and get away with it.

“The rest is entertainment” for bitesize fun insights about how TV, Movies and the industry works - with Richard Osman. super interesting, but skip the many ads!

British Scandal is fun - true stories retold dramatically by comedians - particularly recommend “the canoe con” (series 6), “race to ruin” (38) as non sexual but crazy story ones! They are 3 x 1hr episode each plus a bonus interview episode.

Loved “price of paradise” about a family from Essex who buy an island and move in to many a disaster - all documented by a film crew

Serial if you’ve not done it before - there’s several good series. The original is a murder investigation, the most recent about freeing Free Willy whale “the good whale” but I skipped the musical episode!

Maraudingmarauders · 25/04/2025 19:54

I love the Food Programme on BBC sounds. They’re usually shorter snippets but really interesting topics especially if she’s at all interested in food, drinks, cultural themes or the environment. Often have episodes about sustainability and what that looks like in different industries etc

LittleBigHead · 25/04/2025 19:53

oooh Kill List. And also The Cold Tqpes. Really interesting fictional crime investigation, set in Antarctica.

Americast is a really good political podcast

LittleBigHead · 25/04/2025 19:52

If you want some tales from the rabbit holes of the internet, Blocked and Reported is fun. They look at all the crazies on the internet with the instincts of journalists.

I've recently been bingng on a couple of fictional conspiracy dramas, Tanis, and Rabbits. Whimsy & silly but really well done. Similar to the Lovecraft Investigations

MounjaroMounjaro · 25/04/2025 19:51

Off Menu is good - listen to the Claudia Winkleman episode - it's so funny.

Single Ladies in Your Area - very funny - two female comedians - Amy Gledhill and Harriet Kemsley - talking about the trials and tribulations of dating.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 25/04/2025 19:44

If you have Spotify.
Off the Menu with James Acaster
Sherlock & Co - beautifully produced comedy dramas.
Rob Brydon interviews
If they like politics, The Rest is Politics.

Uncanny - Danny Robins ( I've only seen the TV series but apparently the podcasts are better)

Therealmetherealme · 25/04/2025 13:47

Stalked from BBC sounds has been interesting. It’s about a young women who entered the fashion industry and was cyber stalked.
