To think ugly men are usually vile

Speaking as a very "mid" woman looks wise. I've given all sorts of men chances over the years, moreso ugly men as in my younger years I assumed they'd be funnier, more accepting, kinder etc.
Never the case. The most rotten foul, misogynist men have been the ugliest!
Married and had DC with a normal (v attractive to me man!) but am seeing it all again now via DDs.
Am I alone?

I'm 21 and probably not typical of the responders you'll get as I'm basically dating "boys" (they're certainly boys in their mentality anyway).
And I HATE ugly ones.
Ah you're thinking, she's a shallow bimbo. No, I don't only hate them because of their looks, it's because they are SO over-appreciative of me daring to look at them. "Oh Sian, you're so beautiful, why are you talking to me, etc etc...". And they go on and on. Attractive guys don't talk like that.

Because maybe you were giving the vibe that these people should be so grateful that you lowered yourself to give them attention 🤷🏻‍♀️. There’s no correlation as there’s no universal standard of what is ‘ugly’. The vast majority of us are just various shades of ordinary.

RockyRogue1001 · 25/04/2025 00:04

What a vile thread.

Not to mention feckin' stupid.

OP seems to imply there's a standard measure of what attractiveness is, and that every woman would agree on what makes a man handsome or ugly.

Dumb as

You said they were the things you expected from 'ugly' men?

Ohhh yes I get you, when I was younger I foolishly did yes. Wrongly.

Sorry guys it is actually a nasty thread I was just brain farting

You can't judge a book by its cover.

Anyhow, in my experience, some of the best-looking men I've known have been obnoxious entitled swines, so I don't think looks have anything to do with it.

No not "because" at all, it's about experience of.

I’m a granny in my late 60s and vileness in men does not correlate to looks, in my experience.

This. Handsome is as handsome does, as the saying goes.

Interesting.

Are you sure you're not just prejudiced?

Why would you expect a fairly large proportion of society to be 'interesting, funny, kind' just because you deem them ugly?

No I can't say I've ever really found this to be honest.

The most vile, misogynistic men I know are pretty well mixed I think.

All sorts of ages, looks, race etc.

Same. There really is no pattern.

JHound · 24/04/2025 23:55

I remember people always used to tell me that “ugly” men were nicer because they had to try harder and “attractive” men were often arseholes because all the women wanted them so women are better off going for “ugly” men.

I think an ugly man started that rumour.

Personally I have never noticed any relationship between a man’s external appearance and his character.

HeddaGarbled · 24/04/2025 23:53

This is probably the nastiest post I’ve read on here this evening.

Did you watch Adolescence? There was a scene where the misogynistic boy admitted to going after a girl when she was “weak” because he thought he’d stand more chance with her then. That sounds like what you were doing with your so-called “ugly” men. That’s warped.

In my experience, usually funny, interesting, kind. The things I expected from "ugly" men

(Ofc there are exceptions)

Sure…

So what are ugly women then?

I'm sure in general you are wrong.
But, worse looking people are treated worse, so I suppose some people can degenerate into a self fulfilling prophecy.
