James Maloney was not Jesus. He was just doing His work as best he could, which was pretty well.

So who was the 4’8” woman who got hugged by James and grew to 5’7”?

BunnyLake · 27/04/2025 21:14

@pointythings I understand exactly what you mean. I felt enormous relief the day I finally put the shackles of believing in god in its box, locked it up and threw away the key. If there is such a thing as god then he let me down time and time again, when I was going through a particular personal hell. I’d had enough. Since then I knew there was nothing, no more hoping, praying, pleading, whatever else it is you have to do to get this lazy, useless god to actually do something! I know without a shadow of a doubt there is no god. He’s mysterious and lazy and ineffectual because he doesn’t exist. His ‘existence’ is nothing more than a placebo, sometimes it works psychologically on some and on others it doesn’t. I have no issue with someone getting great comfort out of believing in god and I would never say something scathing to them … unless they started spouting fire and brimstone crap and nasty threats of hell. Relishing ordinary but flawed people burning in hell for eternity because they didn’t god enough is sick.

You’ve heard him tell that story in one of his podcasts? Well I guess that’s all the proof you need then. Do you know the name of the woman that grew an extra 12 inches in height whilst being hugged by JM?

Is it possible James is really Jesus? (Serious question).

Thank you for that. It helps me to put your comments in perspective.

You're welcome. I hope this makes you see that we atheists are not going through life being less happy and somehow morally 'lesser' than those who believe.

It isn't about justification, at least not for me. Let me put it very simply: Just as you derive strength and comfort from your belief in God, so do I derive strength and comfort from my belief that there is no God. In my life, when times get tough I have faith in the innate goodness of most human beings around me - and that has not let me down in my 57 years through some really difficult and heartbreaking situations. I know that it is my responsibility to make the most of my life in terms of doing right by others, leaving the world a better place than I found it and squaring what I do with my conscience and against the laws of the society I live in. I know that when I die, I will live on in the memories of the people whose lives I have touched. And that is enough.

My belief that there is no God is what carries me through life and keeps me going.

Thank you for that. It helps me to put your comments in perspective.

Something I don't understand is why atheists can be so keen to justify their belief in the non-existence of God.

Are you going to apologise for the horrific stigmatising language you used when you compared the human condition without religion to serious mental ill health?

Where did I say anything like that? Are you mixing me up with another poster?

The problem is it’s always anecdotal. I’ve just been on another page and Ian tells of (it’s always tells of isn’t it, we never actually see verifiable examples) a woman who had a baby after a hysterectomy (there’s a lot of flexibility in that sentence that doesn’t mean he’s lying, ie adopting, fostering etc). Another lady got a new heart purely through prayer. They cure blindness and deafness at their meetings (we’ve all seen the man in the wheelchair who gets up and walks, crying I’m healed, I’m healed!).

Anyone who can think logically knows if these really were genuine they would be the biggest news in the world. It would change the world as we know it (for the better). So why do I have to go on MN to hear about these mindblowing miracles!

What you have to remember is that while Jesus saves, Tesco saves you more 🤣

This healings are no different than the idea of god - both non existent to us non believers.

I'll answer this later on. One immediate thought, seeing the antipathy in this thread towards God, is what would publicity about God's healings achieve? People who don't want to believe will find fault in anything.

Thank you I look forward to reading your answer as I’m interested in your thoughts on it.

Was Jesus sent to Earth to heal sick people, or to teach people about God? He taught, and confirmed His Word with miracles including healing. Ian Andrews's job is to teach about God and encourage people to believe Him and what He can do.

Ian has taught and ministered in dozens of countries. He goes by invitation.

This Ian Andrews sounds as much a con artist as god.

KeepHopeful · 27/04/2025 17:09

When is god going to start healing those injured in Ukraine or Gaza? When has he helped anyone?

I'm assuming it's this James Maloney:

https://www.doveontherise.com/index.html

If so, it appears that he: "received his eternal inheritance on December 22, 2020, survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.".

Wasn’t able to save himself then.

@KeepHopeful still hasn’t explained why such a gifted man was not a global phenomenon.

BunnyLake · 27/04/2025 17:01

KeepHopeful · 27/04/2025 16:53

Ian Andrews's main role now is to teach others to minister healing, thus showing God's love and the fact that anybody can have faith to do it. All or most of the healings he sees are done through other people at his meetings. The emphasis is on faith in God, not IA's own anointing for healing ministry.

Seeing an experienced healing evangelist healing people is one thing. Seeing ordinary people, including children, do it shows that it really is God behind it, not one special person.

No more expensive med schools while Ian is around. Yay

I've read and heard a lot from both these guys. Both have massive experience as healing evangelists, and both know plenty of others doing similar things.

Both of them have seen thousands of healings in their own respective meetings and careers. They describe some truly amazing miracles.

Talking of the short woman who grew nearly a foot taller when James Maloney held her - I have heard him describe that in one of his podcasts.

It's frustrating that less healing ministry is done in Britain than in America. Many remarkable healings are reported in other countries too. There seems to be more scepticism against healing here, so less is attempted and less experienced.

Well if they’re American at least their followers don’t have to worry about having health insurance, which must be a huge relief for them in these hard financial times in the US.

anytipswelcome · 27/04/2025 16:57

anytipswelcome · 27/04/2025 15:41

If Christians are encouraged to called to spread the word about god and Jesus, why would the woman in question and her congregation / priests / family / friends not have shared her story with the world as a demonstrable, provable miracle?

She could show pictures or home videos proving she used to be X height and is now Y height. She could have multiple testimonies from people who know her.

Why hasn’t that happened? It would be such a rare (non existent many would say) thing, an unquestionable miracle, so why would this happen and then not be used to spread the word of god?

Any thoughts on this @KeepHopeful?
