Women over 80

I am 88 years old and in good health and sound mind. I would like to have a companion but the man interested in me is 83 and I don’t really fancy old peoples fumbling which he is keen on. I was young with a good sexual appetite but I now surrender that part to where it belongs - to days of youth. But finding interesting men who read books and bring something new into your is rare. Can you get companionship without the mind boggling activities which would just make me laugh now. What do other single very old ladies do?

What about U3A?

No advice really but wanted to wish you good luck! Some friends of my aunt’s have just started a relationship - they are both widowed and knew each other socially for years - in fact they were very much a foursome with their late partners, which has raised a few eyebrows (unreasonably, I think). Is there anyone currently in your life who could become a companion/partner?

I’m sure you can find what you’re looking for. In my experience local theatre groups, local events like poetry evenings and exhibitions and political parties offer a great social scene for older folk. Others I know have met interesting people through volunteer work and community gardening projects. Also there are bound to be online dating type things catering for your demographic and you can be clear what you’re looking for. Good luck and enjoy!
