I'll go first 😆

-Kids sharing rooms
-Complaining about schools or teachers
-Feeling upset about a friend hurting you
-Having more than 1 kid on an income under circa 50-100k, or having more than two on an income under circa 100-150k
-Renting long term
Complaining about dogs being given human rights.
Complaining about grandparents care of DC's 'because it's free so like it or lump it!'

OP posts:

Staying married to the father of your children even when his behaviour causes you mild irritation

Biffsboys · 22/04/2025 07:28

Doing anything for your dc after they turn 18 .

This one mystifies me and I see it a lot outside Mumsnet too. Why are women being shamed for caring about their kids’ diets??

It's because people see it as a judgment on themselves and so get defensive.

JasperTheDoll · 22/04/2025 07:18

Quoting the OP
Letting your child have any kind of piercings (even at the age of 16)
Eating anything that's a UPF
Eating McDonalds.....ever
Artificial lawns
Teachers
Schools holding activities during the school day (the schools working day)
Catholics
People who drive and don't cycle everywhere
Not forcing your child to do multiple extra cuticular activities
Being working class

DisapprovingSpaniel · 22/04/2025 07:08

Staying on topic. Eg the thread about the rise in airline staff abuse is already derailing into a ‘is it ok to be asked to move for a disabled person’ thread.

HaagenYAAS · 22/04/2025 07:03

Joggers on anyone, especially children, especially if they are grey, especially if the whole family “joggers brigade!” are wearing them. Immediately leave the area!

Springtime97 · 22/04/2025 07:02

Anything to do with having a ‘new’ partner. You must remain single forever if your relationship with your kids dad doesn’t work out!

MyUmberSeal · 22/04/2025 07:00

Liking men.
Defending/expressing sympathy for a man.
Feature walls.

The only problem with "Karen" is there are many really lovely people that are named Karen that I feel bad about 😩

That is a problem but there are others. It's misogynistic and ageist.

NeelyOHara · 22/04/2025 06:58

Voting Tory. You are worse than a rapist or murderer. In fact, you are responsible for all the rapists, murderers, wars, cancers and global warming and pets dying because you vote for one of the two major political parties.

Fizbosshoes · 22/04/2025 06:57

The idea of mutual favours (asking for a favour is cheeky fuckery, doing a favour is being a doormat)

Cereal

Class whatsapps

noroomonbroom10 · 22/04/2025 06:55

Pushchairs on buses.
Every health problem being the perimenopause

Toilet brushes!

Oh yes, that!! I was told that having a toilet brush in not hygienic, but sticking your hand into the poopy toilet water to wipe skidmarks with toilet paper is totally ok. Hmmm.

FigTreeInEurope · 22/04/2025 06:54

"Man here : ..."

Although it does make me cringe everytime.

localnotail · 22/04/2025 06:49

Oh yes, my favourite - being told that basically no one owes you anything - and this includes your parents, your grandparents, your friends and DP

Being flamed for suggesting that maybe, just maybe, schools and teachers can be total shits

Itsallsostressful · 22/04/2025 06:48

Eating supermarket bread !!! Its UPF don't ya know !!

BountifulPantry · 22/04/2025 06:46

You’re also not allowed to anticipate any future inheritance, irrespective of circumstances, due to it clearly being « grabby »

Your 90 year old parents are royalty with a country estate? No Jean. You can’t think about when you may inherit. Grabby. They might need it for care. Also shame on you for being rich.

user1497787065 · 22/04/2025 06:45

doing laundry, cooking or cleaning for your children if they are over the age of 12. Also driving them anywhere.

BountifulPantry · 22/04/2025 06:43

There are lots of financial things that are frowned upon OP.

If you have a reasonable, slightly above average income, dont even think about asking any question at all about finances. Cue the competitive « I have 53p to last me until next August, you don’t know you’re born» posts.

But you’re also, somehow, not allowed to receive benefits.

Make it make sense.

TheIceBear · 22/04/2025 06:40

Being an older or younger mum

Katemax82 · 22/04/2025 06:39

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/04/2025 06:36

That's because Karen is a misogynistic slur and Mumsnet is a site for women.

I wasn't advocating the use of "karen" BTW people, I don't like it either

Katemax82 · 22/04/2025 06:37

TranceNation · 22/04/2025 06:21

Using bleach to clean

Toilet brushes!

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/04/2025 06:37

People having their legal wedding before their wedding celebration.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/04/2025 06:36

Katemax82 · 21/04/2025 22:53

I saw a post where somone used the term Karen and got flamed

That's because Karen is a misogynistic slur and Mumsnet is a site for women.

Bepo77 · 22/04/2025 06:36
  • Liking your husband
  • Liking sex with your husband
  • Saying you look good/young for your age
  • Making any reference to benefit scroungers - they don’t exist, and in fact can’t exist, because the rules and forms are now water tight
