CIS

Just read an article about the Supreme Court judgement today. It repeatedly refers to Cis women. I get so unbelievably annoyed by that term.

I am not a ‘Cis’ woman. I just hate the term. If you want to be a trans woman, fine. That’s what you are. Don’t make me the other side of your imaginary coin. Don’t make me call myself something I’m not. Don’t make me part of your ‘We’re all just at various points on the woman spectrum’ nonsense.

There are women. And there are trans women. Two entirely different things.

I am hopeful that my DD who is 18 will not have to deal with this crap a few years from now.
The problem is, she was fed a lot of rubbish about this sort of thing at secondary school when the gender arguments were starting to take hold. I often discuss it with her and she doesn't get anywhere near as angry as I do about it.

I agree, I feel so sad for the young people who were fed this rubbish that if unhappy then pretending you can change sex will sort your problems.

Mental health issues support is so underfunded.

I guess if you were born a woman and you are a woman you are a cis woman. It's a just a term which you don't have to use if you don't want.

No.

I am woman. I don't identify as anything, I just am in reality. Biological reality matters.

There are women and there are a small percentage of men with a wide variety of conditions that should not be handed together under the misnomer ‘trans women’. These include transsexuals, transvestites, autogynephiles, misogynistic narcissists who gets kicks out of encroaching on women’s spaces, sexual predators who masquerade as women and autistic men and boys who have been groomed by trans activists. Grouping these people together allows criminals to hide in plain sight behind the benign and the vulnerable.

BrilliantBrilliant · 17/04/2025 09:46

Biological reality.

Women are not cis. Just women will do for women. Men will do for men. Trans people are trans people.

YessandNno · 17/04/2025 09:42

I've seen the term "CIS" in some articles online and from the context I guessed it was referring to women (as opposed to trans women) but I confess to not having a clue what the letters actually stand for. It just suddenly seemed to appear out of nowhere and we were all supposed to know immediately what it meant!

The same applied to "woke" and "Karen". I had no idea what they meant when I first saw them. Actually, I'm still not sure I understand what woke means.

yep. It was the linguistic trick used by many as you know. I first saw it in action in 2019 when McKinnon used it.

Because the only two things that exist are robots and females.
I'm not A so I must be B.
Hmm let look at all the other things you could be starting with C - male.

Didn't he say something idiotic like 'I'm biological and I'm a female, so I must be a biological female'? Imagine being desperately ill and finding that a numpty like that is your doctor.

From what I can work out, the end result is the destabilisation of some societal values through the destabilisation of established science. I believe that a group of people wish their beliefs to be considered accepted and have developed philosophical theories, such as queer theory which links with gender identity theory, to do this.

And you are right in that it is patriarchal and misogynistic. The groups who are involved have used tactics to try to hide their misogyny. Some by claiming to be female people and therefore claiming oppression using the axis of sexism etc.

When I first read that campaign groups had strategy documents about how best to do this such as the Denton's report and the Trans Law Centre communication strategy document, it started to fall into place. These groups were actively attaching their aims onto the legitimate aims of other groups in a deliberate strategy. It had a chilling effect.

Language has been a very huge part of this strategy. The use of the words 'cis' is part of that.

So too is the public shaming that happens when language demands (and they are demands despite many people declaring they are not and declaring it is 'just respectful') are not complied with. These groups have opened up society to bullying by those who I can only think feel righteous in admonishing, demonising and berating others who don't comply with the language around these topics.

Pronoun use is very much a part of that. Just think of the pressure that people have to announce their pronouns and the shaming that goes on when people used the established language conventions for pronouns rather than complying with requests / demands.

In case you want to read these documents, here they are:

The Transgender Law Center’s work.

This link also shows a 'playbook' on how to leverage other social justice issues to manipulate people into supporting beliefs not upheld with any factual or scientific evidence at all. In fact, in this link above, the general population are called 'persuadables'. They are not hiding that this is pure emotional manipulation.

And finally, here is something similar from the UK Greens. Just in case people still doubt that there is an emotionally manipulative tactic being used across the world. This one gives people stock answers that they believe will work to either shame people into agreeing with them or that they feel will be 'convincing'.

it is in archive sites if you want to track it down.

Caution: the link to the Greens includes some misinformation presented as 'facts'. Happy to have a discussion about this with anyone with questions.

Thank you so much for your informative posts.

Please can you talk to us about why, in your opinion this has been allowed to happen.

We all see the patriarchal, misogynistic, hegemonic status quo that is the human experience and further see that it will be imposed by all means.

What is the end result?

TicketyBoo11 · 17/04/2025 09:12

Hate the term CIS..‘don’t make me the other side of your imaginary coin..’. That’s a fantastic phrase.

When speaking or writing I consciously never put a space between ‘trans’ and ‘woman’..for me it implies that the person is a different kind of woman, an evolving woman..when really they’re just a different kind of man. I’ve refused to play that game…and we can say that now without fear of reprisal and for the record, this view never came from hate, it came from fact.

A transwoman is not a woman. Refreshing.

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 17/04/2025 09:11

Bogginsthe3rd · 17/04/2025 00:28

Yes I can understand that. My feeling is that a man who was born male but now identifies as behind a woman is called a trans man rather than just a man or cis man, no?

First you have it the wrong way round a trans man was born female and a trans woman was born male.
Secondly I know it's a typo/auto correct fail but they never identify as 'behind a woman' it's always front and centre, always better women than us boring natal women who just don't woman hard enough.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/04/2025 09:11

AlphaRadiationIsHeliumNuclei · 17/04/2025 08:43

You can assume they're talking about atom arrangement 😆

All the same atoms in a different spatial configuration, with different properties…doesn’t really map, does it?Grin

The ‘trans’ in ‘transgender’ is from the meaning in words like ‘transition’, ‘translate’, ‘transpose’, ‘transplant’ etc, none of which have a cis- counterpart. The cis/trans pairing used in chemistry and a few other specialised cases is something different. Applying ‘cis’ to women isn’t only philosophically wrong, it’s grammatically illiterate.

We don’t need this stuff now. We know woman means woman and doesn’t need an extra descriptor. Thanks to FWS, Sex Matters and everyone who got us here.

See the Peggie case where a male medical Dr, under oath in a court of law declared that he is a 'biological woman' or the witterings of India Willoughby.

Bogginsthe3rd · 17/04/2025 00:29

Well because biologically they may be neither male or female and not have male or female genitalia necessarily. So I wondered how you would classify them ?

With modern technology, all humans can be reliably categorised as either male or female.

Either they have a body formed around the production of small gametes or large gametes, even if the production of those gametes has not, is not and will not occur.

There is no person who is 'neither' or 'both'. Genitalia is only one aspect of categorising people.

Helleofabore · 17/04/2025 08:53

The other significant issue with ‘cis’ is that its very usage forcibly categorises someone into having a philosophical belief that they may or may not have. It is very problematic for those who do not have a ‘gender identity’.

In fact, to extrapolate it out : if ‘cis’ excludes those who do not ‘identify as having a gender aligned with the sex they were born’ then the trans gender community would be fucking huge. Because it would include everyone who doesn’t believe in gender identities at all. Not through deliberately self-categorisation as ‘agender’ but simply through rejection of anything to do with that philosophical belief that is the foundation for gender identity and the theories that shape those identities.

Because, the only commonality with all those claiming a transgender identity is philosophical belief. Not a medical 'problem' according to transgender people and academics and medical professionals who are transgender and shaping public awareness. No scientific and robustly established material facts.
So only philosophical belief.

And I would be pleased to know just what other philosophical belief should be given the power to shape a whole populations language to the extent that we are seeing these language changes being demanded?

If someone who was religious called me a non-believer, I cannot dispute that. Because it reflects my reality. I don’t believe in their religion so in their religion centred language that is what I am. It could be considered neutral in that respect. It doesn’t change my belief.

However, calling me ‘cis’ is not neutral. It falsely categorises my beliefs and is not a neutral act at all. Calling me ‘cis’ coercively forces me to believe in gender identity and the theories that are foundational to them.

ViaBlue · 17/04/2025 08:53

I hate cis too!
And why cis..why not alpha..would sound better if normal women were described as alpha women ;)

Pianoaholic · 17/04/2025 08:52

Thank you @Helleofabore .
That's very informative and interesting to know.

Helleofabore · 17/04/2025 08:50

The term 'cis' is meaningless because the term includes any male person who has a DSD yet has a body that is **formed around the production of small gametes that has any degree of sensitivity to any of the testosterone that body produces.

There is no word left for female people.

Because even male people are now saying they are also ‘female’ . When ^^ female means only a person of the sex category where that person's body has been formed around the production of large gametes, regardless of whether the body does, has or ever will produce those large gametes. ie that requires the presence of ovaries or ovarian tissue - never testes.

In fact, we now have examples of many male people declaring that they are female people. So even the word for female has become meaningless in that sense.

But 'cis' is a* *word that was repurposed from its original usage and is meaningless for the purpose of discussing female people in its current usage. It has been used in academic papers as well in an attempt at using inclusive language which then renders the papers meaningless because the term is not describing a unique grouping of human bodies, even when it claims to be doing just that.

To see how this works, we have been told that 'girl' and 'woman' both now include:

1 Male person who has been incorrectly registered as a female at birth, but has a male body **.
2 Any male person has now claimed a transgender identity using those labels.
3 And any person who has a female body ^^.

Under the label of 'girl' and 'woman', extreme transgender activists have been telling us for years that those labels break down into two types of girls or women:

Cis and Transwomen/transgirls.

These terms mean:
Cis
= (1) Male person who has been incorrectly registered as a female at birth, but has a male body **
and
= (3) Any person who has a female body^^
Trans
= (2) Any male person has now claimed a transgender identity using those labels.

Therefore there is no unique word to mean female people who have a body ^^ formed around the production of large gametes.

Cis is meaningless as a unique description for female people and it always was. It is also misogynistic because it leaves female people with no unique word for their needs.

CIS
