It seems like some people look down on certain types of work but isn’t there value and dignity in any job if you’re earning an honest living?

Cleaners and bin men which brits can be snobbish and dickheady about yes....100%

But I dont know where the dignity is on camgirl/guy work or only fans tbh.

Agreed. I have nothing but respect for the supermarket staff, the cleaners, the receptionists...in fact any customer facing role especially...I would struggle with the stamina.

Imo your salary has very little relation to how difficult it how valuable your job is.

Absolutely.
Though I also don’t consider sex work, work. I need to put that out there. It’s abuse and rape. just in case someone comes along and mentions it.

Yeah and IME the UK is particularly bad for looking down on certain roles.

I think companies and corporations have played their part in actually devaluing many jobs as well

HoskinsChoice · 14/04/2025 21:25

Absolutely. Every single job in the world is doing something that someone either wants or needs otherwise the job wouldn't exist.

YANBU.

Ofc. It's classism to look down on the jobs people seem to judge, e.g. cleaning, maccies etc
